Good news.

I thought the beta was pretty bad. Pretty good compared to MS Live, but pretty bad compared to anything else. I'll download this later and give our Wii some love.

Oh, I'm sure some of them see the light at the end of the tunnel. The problem is, that light isn't instore sales promotions for DNF but the afterlife considering how long this thing has taken.

Just after Valve acquired the team that created Portal, Gabe did a video interview. And he sure did mention incorporating Portal into HL. He specifically mentioned an area in the original HL where you overhear two scientists talking before blowing themselves up, thus allowing you to get the gauss gun and how that area could play into Aperture Science.

Valve clearing something up?.... No. They've changed their minds. Should anyone give a damn?.... No. It's a videogame and so far, all of theirs have been a lot of fun.

I don't know whether or not they're available for last generation consoles but you can get them for the 360 if you feel the urge to have a play. They're not free, though.

We recently had our 360 repaired under warranty and I was reading the fine print in there when we got it back and it mentions upgrading your box with newly released features if in under warranty repair..... So this new SKU has me interested. I quite like our 360, but no way I'll drop another few hundred on one. I just have to hope ours dies again in the next 13 months and comes back upgraded.

Figures.... they've got a couple of Australians working there at Valve so it was only a matter of time until Gordan Freeman met Mad Max;P

As for the Lost Highway levels of HL2.... some of it dragged on, but a lot of it was really fun. Had they imparted the same attention to detail and densely packed those levels with tons of stuff to do, like in the city areas, HL2 would be a game I was still raving about. Instead, it ended up rather sparse in those areas between drives/rides. I'd like them to take a close look at Lost Coast, take another gander at that airboat level where the combine fences you in and they pissed away so many options to make the game awesome and make sure they don't miss those opportunities again.

And yeah, I understand all that sort of thing takes time and extra work, but why aim for above average when stunning is only a couple of rungs up the ladder.

Damn thing needs a bigger drive, not a different color!... If the standard version clashing with the color scheme of your television is really that big a deal, you can change faceplates.

XP64 has progressed in leaps and bounds but quite a few annoying flaws remain and, from what I've read in the forums at Microsoft, there's no real dedicated effort with much of it. All their effort is for Vista.

I don't think I've ever seen the OS crash, but plenty of applications have..... and even after making WMP11 work for XP64, it still crashes just as much as WMP10 did.

Shit like this doesn't make me want to buy Vista, it'll make me buy Suse when XP64 is beyond it's time.

I really, really liked UT2K4 and I'm prepared to holdout hope they don't screw this up. But it's hard to remain so optimistic when it's being done for simultaneous console release.

All this free drink and snacks is the problem!

No more soup for you until this bastard ships is they should be saying.

As for graphics..... it's using some variant of UE and GOW looks pretty damn good on the 360, so I can't wait to see what it do on the PC.

I've had laser and it's certainly not painful, if that's your concern.... can you feel it, yes... is it pain, no.

My biggest concern was when they put this thing on my eye like a reversed grammarphone and then started doing whatever it was they do. Sounded just like the shooting noise from Space Invaders.

I think Kukuman and I read the same article a few months back.

I'd not bet my nads on it, but I seem to recall something about how the PC version would handle it one way and the 360 version would do it in smaller pieces due to it's limitations.

It would be a crying shame if they messed this up. It looks incredibly good so far.

"Wait'll the pr0n industry gets ahold of that..."

There was another film along those lines that had that girl Kari something or other from the C&C Tiberium Sun cutscenes, or was that Red Alert 2?.... Also had that guy from Renegade. Was crappy low budget Sci-Fi, but watchable.

Definitely get Dead Rising Pornosaur. Some of it is hilarious, all of it fun and there are many ways to accomplish goals.

Your camera view control could have taken some pointers from FAKK2 and whoever dreamed up the save system deserves to die a long and painful death, but it's a great title.

For one... it appears you'll have to buy 'Ultimate' edition to get the cheap additional copies. Wow! Awesome!

For Two... Microsoft does nothing out of love, they do what makes good business sense to them. A lot of people couldn't give a shit about Vista. Me included. My XP64 is running just fine.

I downloaded Vista Betas, I purchased Vista Beta DVD's... Not once has it just installed no problems and worked. It's been setup failure after setup failure and this on a current high end PC. And whilst I got Vista RC2 to work eventually and agree it looks very pretty, it's got nothing I want or need and it's more resource intensive.

All as Microsoft has done for me of late is piss me off. I buy their software and they treat me like a thief with all this validation and authentication crap because they'd rather punish legitimate users than risk thieves having an easier time. This brilliant system of theirs actually shuts down my PC and forces a restart, which required me to call Microsoft to reenable my OS. From all accounts, those inclined to pirate it still do and succeed, whilst I'm stuck calling their tech support at 4:00a.m. because some part of their OS decided it had suddenly become pirated.

Vista will be the first new Microsoft OS I've ignored and I'm going to make a concentrated effort to do likewise with other software of theirs. I think a lot of paying customers will feel similar.

Are they Evil?... No. Do they deserve my thanks and continued support, or me blowing their trumpet here over such generosity?.... No.

I've purchased everything Valve themselves have made through Steam so far, plus Defcon and Sin. I'm also interested in more HL2 play and would buy Ep2 at the same price as Ep1. No way I'm paying $40.00 for it as I have no interest in Portal or TF2. No way I'll buy it at all if I'm forced to pay for something I don't want.

I haven't actually played anything new on the PC since Ep2, FEAR and Defcon. There hasn't been a single new game on the PC that's interested me. I don't have that much time these days and when I do play something, it's with my kids on the Wii or 360. Unless they make some offer to get Ep2 cheaper on preorder and without Portal and TF2.... or TF2 and Portal are free with it, I'll give it a miss. Next time I upgrade my PC, which will probably be for whatever id realeases next after ETQW and even that's no certainty with my waning interest and time, I won't bother installing Steam at all. I can't see the point of pissing customers off. You'd think they'd do all they can to keep those they have.

Feel free to complain to Nintendo for oversupply in Australia;P

Not only are they everywhere.... but they've discounted the price at some places.

We still love our Wii and except for they don't have a Play and Charge kit like the 360, I've no complaints. A Play and Charge kit like the 360 probably wouldn't work so well.... maybe something like a cellphone cradle to sit it in and charge between uses would be better. Okay, I do have one other gripe now I think about it. The thought of being able to play NFL07 with that controller was too much and I caved..... I purchased something EA:(
