I play most other games (Asgard's Wrath, Walking Dead) with continuous movement.

I find in Alyx, I prefer blinking. Will totally solve any nausea problems you are having and, honestly, you lose nothing.

As the devs explained in an interview, people tend to "edit" out movement in their heads; i.e. running from place to place in HL2 is not the import of the game.

They've really nailed the Blink movement.

I am very sorry for your lose. Having lost my 2 year old German Shepherd many years ago when he choked on his ball, I know how deep and how long lasting the sadness can be.

Yet, as dog owners, we all know the day is inevitable, and I've yet to meet one of us who would trade the grief we suffer for the removal of the memories we had with our pets.

They are special indeed.

What makes them think when this concept COMPLETELY failed in 2001 (iSmell from Digiscents for those who might not remember), that it suddenly has appeal?

Actually.... I find it sad when ANY PC game or company closes down. These people did not mean to make a bad game with all its problems. I'm sure they poured their hearts into it.... but it didn't work out.

Sorry... but as PC gamers.... there is no good news here. Just another PC-centric game that failed.

I don't believe that ROI is limited by definition to a one year period. I *think* that it is used to indicated what ultimate return on investment one receives.

You could, of course, say "what is the ROI over a one year period". However it has been my experience that when no time period is delineated, it is commonly understood to mean what return you "ultimately" receive.

As far as expecting 100% return on a "risky proposition"... you are not in-line with standard VC investment models on tech companies. Most VC's would require a 5-10x ROI for a tech startup.... or at least that has been my experience...

Anyone who gives their money to ANYONE promising a 150% ROI deserves what they are going to get: a 0% ROI.
