Awesome, content is awesome. The AK-47 is really nice and feels great. The new map is very well done (probably the best map so far). And the Katana, is just a tad overpowered, especially if you have your melee perk leveled up at all. I mean you can literally one hit a Fleshpound with the Katana lol

Overall though, great update. Awesome new content. Lots of people playing it and apparently, enjoying it

It's a seriously fun game. And well worth the $20 I think. There are already a ton of custom maps (not to mention all the maps being made for the mapping contest Tripwire is running for the game) and even modded servers that allow 30 or so players instead of the normal 6.

I loved the mod version, and the retail version is SO much better in my opinion. It could use a bit more polish here and there obviously, but overall it's a really fun game. I'd actually much rather play Killing Floor than Left 4 Dead.

Also, like with Red Orchestra, we're gonna get quite a few updates for the game I'm sure. We've already got a paid DLC out (skins/models for a paltry $1.99) and shortly they are going to release free DLC with a new map and two new weapons (AK-47 and the Katana). Can't beat that really.

God I sound like a salesman...

Actually this doesn't include the free DLC (map and weapons) just the "premium" new skins/models. The map and weapons will be out within the next couple of weeks or so.

I think I'm going to wait to see how online net play is before I make my final decision. It's boring playing with yourself all the time.

I'm pretty sure the netcode will be rock solid. If they are using the same netcode from the X360/PS3 version, it's awesomely good code. (I don't see why they wouldn't use the same netcode after all)

I think DICE already said BC2 won't have any sort of SDK or any modding ability for PC. I doubt very much the PR guys could do anything with the game then.

Yeah true, but Alien Arena is based off the Q2 engine, not the Q3 engine. Just in case you didn't know Oh and Nexuiz, uses the Darkplaces engine, which is based off the Q1 engine, heh.

Sweet, glad to see the release finally. Can't wait to play it. Though, like with other Q2/3 freely available shooters (World of Padman etc) I just wish more people played it.

Yeah, those specs are worthless. On this PC I meet the minimum specs, and no matter what settings I use I can't get anything more than a 5 fps slideshow.

On my other rig which is more or less the recommended specs (with an 8800 GTX and 4 gigs of ram, 2.6 Ghz C2D) I still have to turn things down to get it to run decently. If you go to their forums, there are plenty of people on decked out rigs with horrible FPS issues. Memory leaks I would imagine.

You should try playing now with Chunk #2 out, as you can use members only stuff (though only a small amount, and only a small chance you'll get anything, but still its better than nothing now)

Plus you get a bank page now and can stack those normal pots as free members. And frankly the ads aren't that bad if you want to play it for free and get the perks they offer for the ads.

And as stated already, $5 a month isn't exactly horrible.

So you want a company to go out of buisness, and people to lose their jobs? Wow, you are an awesome guy!

And I wasn't aware the game tanked, is this because you don't like the game, or just don't like the fact you have to pay a monthly fee for some stuff?

You could always go play Dungeon Runners - oh wait nm you have to pay a monthly fee for that one also. Darn.

#17: Tabula Rasa does NOT use the Auto Assault engine. They are using a totally different engine. After they scraped what they had when they were on the Unreal 3 engine, they made their own engine, and this is it. It may look similar to the Auto Assault engine, but it is not the same.

Oh and RIP Auto Assault. Oh how I loved thee.

A sequel to Shogo would ROCK. I love that game, still have it installed in fact.

I like the name Project Origin personally. And I can't wait to see what the Monolith guys come up with for the sequel heheheh.

Sempai - the build we have in the beta is "old" and I don't think they ever actually released that big content patch/bug fix patch they promised either. Which included swimming animations

As such, the dev builds and retail build I'm sure are much better than the current beta build we are playing. As for the game itself, its fun for sure. Certainly better than say Planetside. The quests are fun for the most part, and while the combat is fairly good once past level 15 or so, up until that point it can get a bit "old" if you don't give it a chance.

Looking forward to the release on the 19th though. I can't wait to review the game

I play it all the time, I personally love the game.

I was a closed beta tester for months, long before the public touched it, and the developer(s) really listen to the players - thus we now have PvP, item linking, trading etc.

It isn't for everyone, the game certainly is limited in many ways, but for what it is - it is mucho fun. A hack n slasher in the vein of Diablo et al. Fairly decent community also, mostly mature people, though sometimes we get the "This game sucks, WoW rules!" 12 year olds.

I love Dungeon Runners. It is a simple, fun, easy to play, addictive game in the same mold as Diablo 1/2 and other hack n slashers.

I don't know why people bash DR all the time, is it because the graphics aren't that hot, or there isn't much to really do? Or did you play it for 5 minutes and dismiss it that quickly?

Well it is true that gaming is no different than any other form of entertainment media regarding political views and statements, but Insurgency itself has been in development since 2002, I'd hardly consider the mod then a political statement since the "insurgency" had only *just* begun so to speak in Iraq. Plus the lead designer is Canadian, I'd like to think he wasn't making an overtly Americanized viewpoint on the war

Plus, here is a small excerpt from the "About mod" so to speak:

Insurgency's primary concept is to create an immersive online combat experience for the player, with an emphasis on teamwork and realistic elements to create intense firefights in detailed urban environments. The first scenario is set during the present war in Iraq, after the fall of the government and the uprising insurgency that followed as a result.

Note the "first scenario" part, as they intend to add more scenarios, whether they do or not who knows. It is a mod after all. Mods come and go as we all know.

Whoever says this is a policital statement is a moron. This is a mod, based in reality plain and simple.

And whoever said the insurgents have infinite respawns and the marines do not, obviously hasn't played the mod much.

Maybe you should try the mod out before passing judgement on it no? For a HL2 mod, its an incredible piece of work, it is literally better than some retail games. It does have some quirks and bugs, but that is why it is the first beta release.

$5 for ONE map? They've got to be kidding. Let me guess, 4D thinks that this is Xbox Live or something now?

I don't think so. While I enjoyed Gore for what it was (and I can't wait for it to be released for free soon) charging 5 bucks for one single map is beyond shameful. Seriously
