If you have a queue that's because you aren't a paying customer and it has nothing to do with things being instant or not. If you are a free user, you gotta wait to get on a system (especially during peak times like the weekend etc)

Pretty sure they meant that the dev's previous work (Prey and Dishonored etc) give them that good rep. Which I'd agree with.

The Euro Jank is real with this one, but as you say that's what makes it so good (normally). ACG's review was pretty spot on with how I feel - it does look and feel like a generation off graphically (but still looks fine mind you) and again the Euro Jank is what makes it so appealing really. The outdated animations, stiff movement and weird buggy looking AI stuff just makes it more endearing lol

The game wants you to have alts using the "roster" system as it improves stats etc for all your characters by raising that roster level. Playing through the game multiple times on multiple characters are the play throughs, though since I haven't "beat" it yet and haven't gotten to endgame I don't know if there is a harder mode available for story stuff or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure Rise was never a PC lead platform game, I could be wrong of course. I'm pretty sure Rise was in development straight after they finished up the RE Engine (and I think Generations 2, maybe?) and it was developed right after RE7 was released. Either way, from everything I've read - Switch was the lead platform (or at the very least the "main" platform) until the PC was announced. But yes, then Nintendo came along and was like, HEY uh here's money - delay the PC release by like 8 months or so and don't release this on any other console ok! Which does suck as it does for any game.

I feel bad for DICE. I seriously doubt they would want to go this direction for the franchise. EA has proven time and time again they interfere in the development of games under their umbrella and force MTX into games and etc etc. I also feel like EA pushed DICE to put out 2042 months before it was ready but another delay would look bad and EA was like "just put it out and fix it after like always!" which fits their MO.

It sounds more like a F2P version of The Division's Dark Zone PVP stuff than battle royale to be fair, though since they mention battle royale in the announcement I can understand why people will just think it's another battle royale. But at least it sounds fairly different than standard battle royale style games mixed with The Division kind of thing.

What I don't get is the people who scream from the clouds about freedom of speech this and that - don't seem to understand how freedom of speech is supposed to work. He has every right to say whatever he wants, wherever he wants. But as is the case with many things in life, he is not free from the consequences of what he says. And this is one of those consequences. Not to mention, Twitter is not the United States. It's a private company (or is it public, I don't even know anymore) etc. He may not live in the US where his speech is protected (again not from consequence though.)

And this constant bullshit about cancel culture drives me up a wall. Unless the person being "cancelled" is DEAD (and since everyone these days is so sensitive to everything, I am not calling for people to be killed or anything like that), how are they being cancelled? Because Twitter banned them or they can't post on whatever social media? That's not cancelled, since one can simply you know - talk to people the "normal" way still. GASP!

DICE LA are the guys who fixed Battlefield 4, gave us the CTE and CMP. They also made some of the best DLC and maps for various BF games. I'm sure if anyone left at any DICE studio can make a good BF game it's them.

I love this festival thing they do now, but my word the new releases just get flooded with demos it's insane how many get released. Some of these are really good so far though. Very impressed with Aerial Knights, Viscerafest (which I've played before), Windjammers 2 is fun as hell, Graven is amazingly polished and fun so far, even Endocrisis I've had fun with. And that's just from this batch Blue posted here. The amount of demos I have installed right now is nuts, I like close to 100 easily

Hell I've never gotten a character past level 60 or so I don't think. Every new expansion or major league update thingy they do I usually make a new character (had to actually delete one when the last league launched) but I can never push past 60 give or take a few levels. I love the game but it's just a slog and if you haven't played in eons, good luck trying to figure anything out that's new (though they have added in that in-game journal that kinda explains stuff).

This reminds me so much of a game from years ago that I can't remember the name of. All I remember is it was originally an XBLA release (and it for sure came to Steam, since I have it lol just can't remember it heh) and it was basically an on rails space shooter kinda game. Had a ton of fun with it though. This looks like that game both in looks and gameplay to me. Even the way the ship moves around with the jiggly movement looks like this older game.

As for the VR thing, maybe Redout itself did poorly for them on VR sets and they decided not to go the VR route with this game? I dunno, the genre of game certainly fits VR pretty damn well.

Is the studio big enough to handle two fairly high profile games like this now? I mean say what you will about Shadow Warrior and it's popularity, I know plenty of folks are looking forward to SW3 next year. And while this is only a cinematic, I always love old west mixed with new stuff like demons/monsters etc so I'm looking forward to it. I just hope they can handle the load (and I assume they are working on other things as well like most studios do) being they have 3 different offices for FWH I hope it's enough.

I love how Bruce Campbell said over and over again if Ash vs. Evil Dead got canned, he would be done with the Ash character for good and retire that whole part of his career. Seems as if he's changed his mind (but then again he also did more Ash stuff for Dead by Daylight last year, heh)
