I ran out and got the thing to day, my last experience with the Line was back in 96, and coudln't play that for any thing, the interface and manul were too complicated.
anyway this was supposed to be the holy grail of strategy games so i thought, "what the hell, i can still return that lame ass Unreal II, because it's with in 2 weeks at EBX, and get it for nothin', no fuss, no muss". So i get it home. and install it,- from disk one cd, no installation takes place from the disk 2 cd (toubling). so on i went, Clicked on the master of Orion icon, it started up, i was treated to a kind of lame 16 bit color, 640X480 fullscreen intro, and went through a whole bunch explanations for i don't know what. but there sure was a lot of it. i really had a touch time figuring out just how to begin. well, i'm 200 turns into my first game, and i simply havn't found the fun yet. I mean, hay, thats the point of a game right? to have fun. Savagely it plays anmations from the play disc? Huh? don't we all have multiple 80+ gig drives in our machines? how much animation could there be to install? i mean com one, Unreal 2003 was three bleedin' disks! They could have at least optioned "complete install" yes? I wonder if they will let me turn this back in for Asherons call II? I wish i could recomend this game, but it just wasn't fun for me, (i love CivII and Alpha Centari very, very much. this isn't those though, if it is, it cleverly disguised. unfortuantely i'm the one it needed to decloak for. It just didn't do that.
