Well in terms of multiplayer this game is dead now.
I figured that out after the Alpha. Still a buy for me if the single player campaign is anywhere near Wolfenstein.

Thought as much from what I've seen in the Alpha. Anyway if the solo campaign is on par with the new Wolfenstein I'm happy.

I'm not that much into RTS games anymore but I gave it a shot when it was like 25 bucks a couple of weeks ago. I actually really liked it. It's not that heavy on micro management and that zone-control system appealed to me. Will try out the single player campaign (or whatever they call it) ASAP.
Edit: Can't be said enough: If you have a nvidia card you'll get zero advantage from the dx12 version...

Glad they're making improvements to Edge, but still more work to do.

1) Enable Right-Click in favorites and sort as desired (name, date, etc) unless I am missing something.

2) Allow user to determine, on the fly, where to save a file you're downloading.

3) Bing plug-ins (right-click functions)

How about fixing the fucking search bar? Enter a dot or other special char in your search and watch it burn...

Judging from youtube videos what this game needs is a patch to make the AI not appear to be functionally brain dead.

Could be said for every Tomb Raider / console game ever though

Did anyone ever create better AI in enemies than the original Half Life's special ops ninjas?
IIRC, the first F.E.A.R. had impressive AI... No?
Right! Just saw that in a video again.

lol @ "large gains"

I've seen a lot of reports from users where the game produces less fps in DX12 than 11.

Seems like more patches are in order...
Yes, it's the same here with Ashes of the Singularity, the DX11 version runs way better on my 960GTX since Nvidia fucked it up on the hardware side with DX12 in this generation.

Thank god someone here mentioned the term "bullet sponge". Somehow I didn't realize that this game is more like an MMORPG. Then someone on Steam Reviews mentioned it was basically Destiny. Saved me good money.

Ah, I'm eager to try out the Ashes of the Singularity performance with these drivers. DX12 is pretty much useless with current nvidia hardware , right?

Here, let me fix the title so it reads correctly.

Gears of War: Ultimate Fuck you to Windows 7 Users Edition Released for Windows 10

There, now it's fixed.

So, let me get this straight, they can add DirectX 12 to a game that's 10 years old. But they can't make Windows 7 DirectX 12 compatible? Yea, right Microsoft!!
It's their IP, they can do whatever they want. Same goes for Sony and any PS exclusive.

It is rather puzzling, after their history with games...

I remember that I was very surprised when they didn't ban Gears of War 2 in 2008. At that point, things seemed to change.

i was stoked about this until i found out it was windows store only. unfortunately being a windows store app means:

no fullscreen exclusive
no vsync options, vsync always on
no sli/crossfire support
can't launch it from the exe, so no steam overlay support
no mods or sweetfx

comparing it to GFWL isn't hyperbole, windows 10 store is honestly worse.

What are you talking about? I think the exe has similar DRM to steam. Got some proof? I found this: https://goo.gl/TrflTZ
Nvidia Inspector for Rise of the Tomb Raider seems to have the same problem on Win Store and Steam but can be fixed if you read through this thread.

This might single-handedly turn the fail that is SteamOS into a real Windows killer for games. Thoughts?

Had one CTD and one hard freeze yesterday on my brand new Zotac Steam machine (Win10). Seems to be a problem of the game, though. Other games ran just fine.

MS needs to learn from their arrogance and chow down on some humble pie. They try and dictate what the consumer wants and consumers give them the finger. And now they're wondering why no one is going to Spydows 10.
They did learn. Satya is busy cleaning up Balmer's mess. Either way, both next gen consoles are pretty lame, thinking about getting a gaming PC again after 8 years...
