We're talking about video games and people that write about video games and the people that play them. We can do that without assigning it world-shattering importance. It's called perspective.
Here's some perspective: People know that gaming journalism is corrupt, and badly corrupt. Many people used to believe that broadcast and print media was not corrupt, but now believe it is. People lashed out when that same corruption began to infect their hobby, these are the same people who didn't care about the corruption in the print/broadcast media.

A person who gains the experience to throw down one, and call for accountability will do the same again. This is called stepping stones, and if you believe that "corrupt broadcast and print media" isn't of world shattering importance, you're simply being naive.

No, but it means they use it so often for such trivial shit that it's become meaningless.
In that way, it perfectly fits "gamergate," which in the grand scheme, is extremely trivial, but matters to the people it matters to (duh.)
Oh well then, I guess someone should let the other press folks know this. Chop chop, and get on the job. After all, it was that 'non-gaming journalism' group that started it all. Then again, if you believe that collusion, fake dmca requests, 'gaming journalists' writing the same articles with nearly the same content, and a list of other sundry things as 'is extremely trivial' then that' fine. But for someone who finds it as such, you sure do comment on it--often, in fact so often that you appear to actually have an invested stake in it.

No, it means "Watergate" was an actual scandal that had significant real-world consequences, whereas "Gamergate" is inconsequential and only has importance if you get mad when someone you don't know says something vague but negative about your preferred subculture.
So you mean that journalistic malfeasance that we've been seeing over the last two weeks doesn't have any real-world consequences? Would that be like journolist not being important as well, because already knew that reporters in the msm were colluding on stories.

I still laugh every time I see that word "Gamergate" as if its somehow anything 'like' Watergate. "One of these things is not like the other one."
So does that mean every time the MSM puts "gate" to the end of something like bridegate, or whatever else it is less of an issue?

Anyone taking bets when the SJWs get bored and tired themselves out with this?
Considering zoe just doxxed a bunch of people, along with the author of the article. I'm sure that something is going to happen.

And has Gamasutra made any plans to retract some of the slanderous things they've been printing lately or is that all in the name of the editorial?
Nope, they tripled down.

#killallmen doesn't seem to be very popular, used much more by people complaining about it than actually using it:
Yeah that's would be due to the fact that gamers piled in it, and people started deleting tweets. Surprise!

So I take it, it is too premature to get the 2 paragraph cliff notes of this cluster. Seems like some lessons for the naive are being learned the hard way. I know I'm not changing on whatever this is, is.
Summary:

  • We've seen the evidence too, but unless we got caught we wouldn't report on it.

  • Claim that comments are off because of "harassment" which is not new to the internet or even life. But refuse to report on the #killallmen(started by the sjw's), or #describeAgamerin4words which is fully of misandry and attacking women.

  • We're sorry you're all misogynists, but we're really not spitting on you.

  • To me the entire article comes off as a double down of their previous one. Looking at their rankings data, many people seem to be fully put off on them altogether.

I found the escapist article was too 'balanced' and not covering what you mentioned above well enough.
It's better to be too balanced than to be biased in either direction. The whole #gamergate thing boils down to the demand for transparency and balance in publications. If you do have an issue with it, write him and the editor in chief and explain what problems you found with it.

Personally I'd love to see another Duke Nukem game with his usual over-the-top,crass womanizing ratcheted up a few more notches. We could sit back and watch the media's collective head explode, Scanners style!
Considering the backlash has been going on for three weeks now and the media seems to be folding in on itself, and the sjw's are becoming more shrill as people dig and find more instances of corruption. I have a sneaking suspicion that we might get back to the days of "don't like it, don't fuckin' play it."

So who got some 'burgers and fries' at the escapist?
Actually if you read the article, it covers both points of view. Zoe claimed X, various logs provided by others showed Y. Mainly that she cherry picked, and took things out of context. See the full logs which are floating around, and you find out she simply lied the moment she spewed her crap.

Because Kotaku is a bastion of integrity. It's under 3min long, and it's worthwhile to listen to it.

It is rather telling they all trotted out the same line, all around the same time, in an attempt to circle the wagons...

And depending which plagerism checker you use, use anywhere between 35% to 45% of the same content.

Seriously, anyone who doesn't think there isn't corruption, collusion, or anything along those lines is deluding themselves. This is well orchestrated attempt at attacking gamers, what's funny of course is they're attacking their audience. The people who make them money. What do these people would think would happen if say C&D attacked gearheads, or pooraudophile or hometheaterreview attacked audiophiles, or movie critics attacked those who liked movies in such a matter.

That's right, people would simply say "fuck and you" in that order, which seems to be happening. And it seems to be growing, between the #gamergate and #notyourshield with the sjw's attacking people for defending their hobby. Yeah sorry there dear "warriors" we've dealt with this crap in school already, not going to happen this time. Of course we shouldn't forget the "height" of intellectualism from the sjw's now and that's a very small sample.

Speaking of which, hey Blue, seen an upswing in traffic? I'm just curious since you're on the approved list of people of not being bottom feeding shills, and telling gamers they're dead.
