Holy cow. Colossal Order is just an itty bitty studio. 250K copies in 24 hours is huge for those guys. Well done.
Yep they are like 9 people or something. Good for them, well deserved. The game is awesome!
That makes me so happy

I think it's spot on apart from Destiny, which I found very bland gameplay-wise.

SoM has some of the best game design I've ever seen. Practically everything is perfectly implemented without a hitch.

Vanishing of Ethan Carter is in a genre all it's own. Not many games like it.

Monument Valley is fantastic.

Lumino City is beautiful.

Alien Isolation audio is super immersive

The music in FC4 was indeed great, especially the pleasant tunes during downtime.

Like I said, spot on.

Love these guys' passion that shows through in their videos. They really love what they're doing.

The game looks like a ton of fun and the graphics are very good, but I think if there's anything to fault them on, it's level art direction.
That leans more towards the "mod" feel that DangerDog mentioned

but back in those days the AI was considered to be decent.
Decent, huh.
Looking at AI in games like Assassins Creed Unity, The Order and other AAA titles these days, I tend to disagree.
In some regards it looks like games have taken a step back if anything

I should have done my research before posting.
Now that I know they did the WRC games, my excitement has been flattened.

Either they're very confident in their game that they don't need to show it yet to garner pre-orders, or they've got a lot of polish to do.
I'm leaning toward the former

This isn't as far along as the video would initially have you believe. Most, if not all of what's shown is pretty easy to do in Unreal. There's even a spaceship template to boot that they probably based their ships off of.

I'm just not convinced by the phony sounding script and delivery, either.

This will fund, but if the Descent name wasn't attached, I don't think it would.

I generally suffer from this when I play an FPS. Even if I am only down a handful of bullets and have a ton left in my magazine, I'll always reload after an engagement. It's especially annoying when you have a heavy weapon or one with a belt/box...
I've cut down on this because it was getting me killed a lot in Battlefield. That and constantly sprinting.
No longer am I an obsessively sprinting reloader

Greg Miller just loves to hear his own voice.

And yeah, a little disappointing Avalanche have shown no gameplay as of yet. Seems they're keeping this and Mad Max pretty close to the chest.

Why wouldn't you have first person in space? The whole objective of going to space is finding planets, mining asteroids etc. I don't think astronauts just sit in their seat and fly around, they do things like space walks etc.. So yeah I guess you can call it filler but how can you say that being able to board a persons ship and take it over in a fire fight is a bad thing? Or land on a planet get in your scout car and explore?
As long as the end product turns out to be a proper marriage of all this game's concepts and mechanics, then sure. But if the planned feature list never stops growing, it's not going to end well

Yeah I picked it up for $22. Well worth it.

Should be on sale similarly this month. Steam usually has march break sales, don't they?

I think it's commendable that Rockstar is putting this kind of effort into free DLC. People aren't respecting that enough... complaining that this is late, etc.
Other companies would have charged an arm and a leg for this kind of release.

The amount of content you get for the price of a regular game is staggering

The thing is withh GTA4, is that if you set the game at the same settings as the console's it ran great. If anything they left the settings too open and you could crank up the visuals far beyond what the engine could handle (even with high end hardware).
This is very true, but even on consoles it ran abysmally. I remember dipping to or below 20fps quite a bit on the 360.

GTA V on the other hand runs pretty damn well on consoles new and old, so hopefully that's a sign of good things to come on PC

yeah this doesn't tickle my fancy as a PC gamer and I can't see it tickling many fancies regardless of your gaming background.

Seems kinda like a colossal waste of money and resources on NVIDIA's part.
I'm prepared to eat my words, though.
