While I wasn't super impressed with the first Destiny, that was mostly due to the story having been gutted entirely and your primary source of information being bored with his role. It kept me from being interested.

The gameplay itself was rock solid and fun, just terribly repetitive and with no functional reason as to WHY things happened. Hoping this one is better.

Your NMS reference, Cutter, is wildly misplaced. Grindey gameplay? Well yes, it's essentially an MMO. Par for the course. The difference is that it takes actual gameplay skill into account as much as your gear.

Theme and MMO aspects aside they're virtually identical games. They're loot based, first person ARPGs. In terms of what the game is and what the goal of it is is no different, grinding for loot. That's all it is.

First off, rip off Serenity much with that opening scene?

"Bastard's not even changing course."

Second. This looks like a ripoff of NMS meets Badlands all grind gameplay. And it's online only? Pass.

Edit: I meant Borderlands.

Really? Of all the ways to go with this they went with some stupid top down tablet game that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual film itself? Chalk up yet another shitty video game adaptation.

Well what did you expect? You knew the new ST was going to suck. You were just holding out hope that it might not. Let's face it, you'd need Spock or Data to calculate those odds that it'd be any good because they're so large. Probably like several hundred billion to one against.
On the other hand, Orville does look pretty entertaining.

And yeah, it's good to be the King!

"I had my phone low and I wasn't bothering anybody," she told the American-Statesman. "I'm not a bad woman, she said. "I just went out on a date."

Uh yes you were. That's the sort of rationalization selfish assholes make. So yes, you are a bad woman. Hope he wins.

You don't know
You don't know how to ease my pain
You don't know what the sound is darlin'
It's the sound of my tears fallin'
Or is it the rain?
You don't know how to play the game
You cheat
You lie
You make me want to cry

Not like I want Fuckerberg to win but really, fuck ZeniMax. I really hope that Occulus wins the retrial for no other reason alone. That'd be super if Zenimax has to pay penalties and legal costs after all this.

MS openly spys on people and they're bitching about government doing it? Fucking lol.

And yeah, sure they'll end it. Fucking politicians are the same everywhere. It was like when Stephen Harper's neocons were waiting in the wings here. One of their big promises was scrapping politicians pensions - long a major sore point in this country as they're so exorbitant. And of course as soon as they got into office that went right out the window pretty much along with everything else they said they'd do. I still don't understand how any of that is remotely legal.

After Microsoft started implementing serious spyware I took the time to read and set up dual boot. Very happy to see more linux supported games as that is all I use Spydows for these days.

I've considered that as well. I think I'm going to get a new laptop this year at some point and use it strictly for work using Linux and leave my PC strictly just for games on Spydows.

Yeah, it's easy to say, 'Oh just upgrade already.' Anyone who's ever been involved with large scale corporate IT knows how difficult it is to get anything done. For most companies it's cheaper to deal with legal action and settlements than it is to bring IT up to snuff and hire people who can actually manage it and keep it secure.

I'll never forget when I worked a contract for IBM at the Vancouver airport. The entire airport hadn't been touched in 20 years. It was like was like going to some IT antique museum and this was the mid-90s!

Ever go to your boss and tell him you want a new PC/tablet/cellphone whathave you. The response 99.9% of the time is him laughing in your face and telling you make do with what you have. Fact is a lot of businesses hit by this couldn't afford to do all this anyway. You're talking thousands to millions depending on the scale of the project and size of the business.
