Oh my fucking god that was painful to read. So once again, the liberal point of view is white men are evil. And of course it's us exploiting women, never the other way around! No that never happens ever!

Low pointed to a more industrywide problem — how women are represented in the games themselves. “Lots of costumed booth hostesses simply dress up as the characters they represent,” she pointed out. “Why are game designers creating them that way in the first place?”

Are you fucking kidding me? How fucking dumb to do you have to be to even ask a question like that to begin with. Eros and Thanatos, honey. Men - and women - are hardwired for it. Have a problem with that? Talk to Mother Nature.

Yeah, I meant to watch the first season but forgot so I'll give it a whirl. Is it really squee-worthy?

There's not a whole of lot of point with autonomous cars unless they can force the vehicle behind you to stop tailgating. Following too close is 95% of accidents right there. Right behind that is people failing to indicate (properly). Unless Autcars can do something about that they're useless IMO.

Amazing that it's a top seller. Must be a slow week.

Really? You actually liked that dreck? It's not the worst novel ever but it's a strong contender. Absolutely nonsensical premise, poorly written characters, plotholes you could fly a 747 through, etc. It's all style and no substance. I can see why Spielberg would be attracted to that. I'd much rather see something actually good like Neuromancer or Snow Crash show up on the big screen.

I just got through Snow Crash again, since I read it the first time about 20 years ago. It didn't really hold up well. The conversations between Hiro and the librarian program were just these long tedious passages of exposition, written in a way that felt forced and unnatural. I forgot how bad the dialog for YT was too. Hell, most of the dialog was bad. While the story and some of the world-building aspects are still interesting, the execution wasn't great.

You may be right, it's been that long since I've read it as well. Same with Neuromancer. I very well could be glossing them over.

Hmm, I loved RP1, a book that seemed to be written by someone pulling the best geek references from my cerebral cortex. However, other than the stacks of trailer homes, I didn't recognize anything from the book. Where's Art3mis? Where's the quest for the egg? Tomb of Horrors? They probably won't include the Rush 2112 planet. It's probably too geeky, even for this movie. Oh well.

Still, it looks like a fun action fest that follows the general structure of the story, with lots of 80s refs so I'll be ready, Player One.

Really curious for WW S2 however. I can't imagine they intend on milking this thing out over several seasons. Where the hell can they go with it? The robots have rebelled, the government will send in troops to destroy them and that's the end of that. What? Unless they escape into the real world? Well then it's not Westworld anymore is it?

No it hasn't. People have short memories and execs who have to choose between more money for IT security - or anything else for that matter - or their own bonuses will always choose the latter. Everything else is just the cost of doing business as far as they're concerned.

In 1.5 years, the house has had NO OFFERS but ours. Just seems odd.

I dunno Bats. This should be setting off police sirens or something.

Had a friend who bought a house where the buyer suppressed a report about an unstable stonewall holding up a hillside that they failed to disclose. They had to spend $1000s suing to get the original owner to pay for it. Even with your thoroughness, this just smells bad.

Yeah, I have to concur. From the sounds of it you'd be nuckin futs to buy it at this point. It sounds like a money pit waiting to happen. Given all the problems and the guy's intransigence and dishonesty those are all the warning signs you need. That and no one has even considered buying after almost 2 years on the market - and may have been even longer if was then they pulled it and relisted it. That would not surprise me at all. I don't know why you'd still even be considering it at this point unless there's some massive shortage of affordable housing where you are at this point. And according to Trulia there doesn't seem to be. Jesus, the average house price is only 240k US?! The average house price in Toronto now is over 700K US.

I'm a little apprehensive about this story... Every Amazon product I've seen, even when Prime has said when you're still buying from a third party source. It will say sold by xxx, fulfilled by Amazon.

I don't buy a ton from Amazon but I've never had a problem like this before. That being said, once again, if I had known this was the case I never would have bought the fucking things, would I? Who the hell needs this sort of hassle over a pair of fucking shoes?

Wow interesting. I generally don't like Tom Clancy games, or third-person shooters. But this game has been really fun for me, and it's more fun playing co-op. I picked up Division on sale thinking I might like it too, but I don't. It's just not the same in some way I can't describe. Maybe it's the setting. Their Bolivia is beautiful to look at.

Huh, I'm the opposite. I think the gameplay sucks for both - and pretty much all Ubisoft games really - but wandering around a postish-apoc NYC is pretty fucking sweet whereas romaing around the jungle is meh bleh.

And they want $60+ bucks to start for this? Fucking lol! There are already several dozen survival games that look miles better than this and are already 20 bux +/-. Yeah, I'd have zero interest in this even if it were free - which will probably happen in real short order.

Fuck Amazon! What a shitty company.

Amazon is giving me a VR headset for free, so SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE!

No. They're a shady company, man. I bought some shoes off what I thought was Amazon and it turns out it was some 3rd party reseller marketplace bullshit from China. Doesn't state it anywhere, or shipping times, or refund policy or that it's not actually from Aamazon. So they didn't fit, went to return them and much to my surprise they tell me they're not responsible for any of this - when in fact they are. So they're telling me I have to ship the fucking shoes back to China, insured no less in order to get a refund.

What the fuck? That'd cost 3 time what the fucking shoes cost to begin with. As I explained this. Had they made it clear - as is their responsibility - I never would have bought the fucking things to begin with. So front line CS at Amazon is useless as I expected so I told them to escalate it to management, and if they don't fix the problem I'll b e disputing the charge with VISA and reporting them to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, etc.

All this drama because Amazon doesn't make it clear that these are sellers aren't affiliated with them because they know people won't buy from them otherwise and they won't get their cut. So yeah, fuck Amazon.
