Most of us saw this coming a long way off so no real surprise. Saw a good comment on it the other day from someone who snagged an early copy saying it's exactly like Subnautica. It's a chillax simulator. Well worth it at $20 or less but certainly not full price. Ultimately I see a lot of buyers remorse and returns for this game in short order. I imagine it'll drop in price pretty fast too.

I love the Bay and have been there half a dozen times at least. I have friends in the city and in Berkley and it's always a great time when I'm where. Not to mention the trips out to Napa and Sonoma to get all gassed up on good wine.

I'll never understand why businesses that don't need to be in major cities - banks, IT, etc. congregate there at such inflated prices that only makes it hard to find and retain good help specifically for that reason. Go build somewhere cheap instead. It's all upside for your employees. Head an hour out of the Bay and housing is 1/4 the price easily.

The US and China cheat just as much but have better doping systems. Whatevs. Football is the only important thing. I was all stoked to watch the game and it's been pre-empted by the fucking Olympics! Grr!
Bomb

I've been seeing a lot of talk about the Raiders doing something this season so that could be interesting. I'm also curious if the Lions will produce anything this year. Whilst fascinating and all none of it means anything in the end as we all know the Packers of Green Bay will take it all this year.

I thought the global warming alarmists were saying we would get more katrina style hurricanes more often.

No, they said we'd see more extreme weather globally more often and we have. Global warming is real, mmmkay. It happens without mankind, but man's bad habits are exacerbating and speeding it up. And even if it didn't, so what? We get a cleaner, nicer planet to live on? Oh the horror of that! Gee, why would the deniers/industry shills be opposed to that?

Rolleyes

No, what I'm opposed to are crook governments and swindler businesses blaming 'man' and using it to exert control and fleece us. So, ok, I get you drink the coolaid but FFS a majority of people don't believe in that shit enough to pay to fix it.

How about you stop burning energy using you computer you hypocrite, unplug, and save the polar bears. Liberalism has to be a brain disorder.

If you don't think carbon emissions - and all the other pollutants bring pumped out by industry aren't doing the planet - and thereby all life on it - grave harm then you're the one with the brain disorder. That's no surprise however as every right-wing extremist suffers majorly from cognitive dissonance. I probably do more for the environment in a day than you've done in a lifetime. Only idiots like you and your ilk have to take things to extremes with false equivalencies like we're hypocrites because we haven't gone back to living in caves, as if there were no happy medium. The execs for the major polluters out there thank you for your gullibility and stupidity. And what are you paying for? Red states far and away take the lion share of tax dollars. You and your ilk exist at the largess of those sane liberals you deride. Boy you sure don't have any problems with "socialism" when we're footing the bill do you? Talk about hypocrites.

People are going to be so disappointed. I predict a game that is a mile wide but an inch deep. The next Spore. I have seen people play it and I don't get the attraction. Also I hope they have a good list of banned words for when people start naming things.

I've seen a few reviews from peeps who manage to snag a copy and they're all saying the same thing. Shallow sandbox game that's all just variations on the same theme. There's zero reason to do anything other than just to do it. Collect enough crap to upgrade some stuff, rinse, repeat. Blue florps on Planet X, Red florps on Planet Y. One guy called it a walking simulator in space. Said it was a great game if you just want to have a few beers and fly/walk around looking at stuff but there isn't really anything to do per se, at least nothing that means anything. Which is what I thought it'd be. First several hours of the game will be the 'Ooh ahh neato' factor then it's all 'Meh bleh, been here, done that, got the T-shirt.' I'll grab it for sure in a year or so when it's in the bargain bin but no chance in hell I'm paying full price for it.

Independent game critic Jim Sterling reported a No Man's Sky game-review embargo of midnight EDT on August 9. He also alleges that review copies will not arrive until the morning before that embargo lifts. We have sent questions to Sony regarding the apparent street-date break and will update this report with any response. (We will also feverishly await our own copies, having not found any retailers in our respective cities who are ready to break the game's street date.)

And there's the admission that NMS will suck.

Really? Where are the Vikings in GoT? I see plenty of them in the show Vikings however.
