The coffin part of that device doesn't look very environmentally friendly. Someone really needs to come up with Futurama's disentagrator suicide booth. Whenever I see the topic of suicide, the scene from the M*A*S*H movie is indelibly stamped in my head, "So long, Painless."

I watched a few of the old Bond flicks this summer, but I think I'll watch the rest of them soon as well.

You just answered the question I was going to ask...who the hell doesn't have/hasn't played Black Flag yet? I thought everyone would have by now. BF is definitely the best of them. If you were ever going to only play one game in the series that would be the one to play. I prefer Ezio and the Italian Renaissance myself, but BF was the most fun and most like playing out a classic pirate film. Cruising around the Caribbean - especially if you're playing in the winter - is pretty damn sweet as well.

Am i reading this right? Cutter likes the Assassins Creed franchise from the well-renowned Ubisoft shit?

I must be dreaming a nightmare!

I'm a historian, moron. Why wouldn't I like it?

Won't someone think of the children?!?!

Jesus Christ, another feel good, do nothing, organization of the elites who are more responsible for poverty and the abuse that comes with it, than anyone else. Good grief. Rolleyes

It's great these kids can make a good living with their hobby but stop calling them athletes. If anything they're going to be in real big physical trouble from the lack of physical fitness. It may be a competition but it's not a sport.

Yeah, I've heard Black Flag is the best AC game (although sounds like ACO may be taking the top spot). Just one question: how is the Caribbean winter different from the Caribbean summer?

It's different by virtue of the fact that it's going on when we're up here freezing our nads off. Rum, sodomy, and the lash, what's not to love?

ACO is impressive in size and scope but storywise it's pretty meh, IMO. In order I'd rate them, BF, AC2, Brotherhood, Origins, and the rest - Syndicate, Unity, et al. are all pretty bleh and can easily be skipped.

In the words of Colonel Trautman, "It's over, Johnny! It's over!"

You just have to make sure the Dems take it all back in 2020 so they can fix it as they always have to do after the GOP have run the country into the ground.

I've heard good things about Black Flag, but never played. My daughter has been saying she wants to play some AC what with the movie just coming out, and her friends playing ACO. Good timing. Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!

I wish I was you, Blue. When Disney announced they were making new ones I had the wife watch the originals to prepare for escorting me and she found them "boring" and "childish." She was happy the new main hero was a girl though, a good role model for young girls.

They are boring and childish. And how is a religious kook - Jedi - who goes around brain washing - Jedi mind trick - and maiming and killing people with a sword made of light a good role model for children?

Yet the Packers still hang on in spite of their injuries. Hopefully they can squeak into the playoffs and Aaron can get back to win the Superbowl in a storybook comeback.

Sounds like Atari screwed both of them. Regarless. If Stardock owns the name and TM there's sweet FA they can do about it except stop being whiny bitches and just make an homage with a different name. If it's good they'll make oodles of money regardless so who cares. Most gamers today will have never heard of Star Control to begin with so it's really not that big a loss.

Yes, it was a great segment. The mathematician, can't remember his name ATM, that calculated the sling-shotting of both Voyagers around the other planets is just amazing.

What blows me away, is that it has been traveling at almost 40,000 MPH for just over 40 years now, and Voyager 1 is just barely outside our solar system, and Voyager 2 is in the heliosphere. Now, our solar system is just a dot in Orion's arm of the Milky way galaxy, which is70,000 (70,000 years for light to travel from earth to the center of the Milky Way galaxy. And then you think about there being billions of other galaxies in the ever growing universe. It just makes my brain twitch thinking how small and insignificant we really are.....

Monty Python's Galaxy Song

Whenever life gets you down Mrs. Brown
And things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft
And you feel that you've had quite enough...

Just, remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned
A sun that is the source of all our power

The sun, and you and me, and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm at forty thousand miles an hour
Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way

Our galaxy itself, contains a hundred billion stars
It's a hundred thousand light years side-to-side
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick
But out by us its just three thousand light years wide

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point
We go round every two hundred million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whiz
As fast as it can go, the speed of light you know
Twelve million miles a minute and that's the fastest speed there is

So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth

If someone has a DNR tattoo it should be common sense not to. I'm actually getting my will done this year and get all that sort of stuff in line so there's never any confusion like this. Why in the hell did it take them so long to find his DRN order on file? And the had to consult an ethical consultant - that's an actual thing that people pay money for? Are you fucking kidding me? And people wonder why medicine is so outrageously overpriced.

DNR notices are clear, when looking at them after the fact or from the sidelines, but when you have seconds to make up your mind to resuscitate or not, and all you have to go on is a tattoo, then it can be a bit of a gray area. It takes time to find the actual legal documents for DNR, which might not even be on file in the state/country the patient is getting treatment in. There are already cases of people with DNR tattoos who ASKED to be saved when they regained consciousness... it's not as simple as you'd think, and tattoos are not legally binding documents in the USA, as far as I know. For the record, the hospital's ethics department decided to correctly honor the tattoo.

Yes, I know they're not legally binding but if someone has gone to the time and expense of doing it where it's prominent, and particularly if they're older - guy was 70 and lots of health problems - than COMMON SENSE should dictate what his wishes are. If they bring him back against his wishes they'll still get sued anyway.

So needlessly wasting resources and putting more junk into space and Mars both. Yeah, really environmentally friendly, Elon.

I doubt humanity will still be around by the time Vger makes his return so at least that'll save him from having to eradicate the carbon units.
