Oh god no! They'll ruin Bond. The films will become nothing but 2 hour long product placement commercials.

Independent Thinking

We’re living in very disturbing times. Whilst we all thought that the world was making real social progress, we actually fell asleep and failed to notice dark corporate and political powers silencing all dissent. We are dedicated to maintaining an independent creative process; responsible only to George Orwell’s work and to our audience.

Spoken by someone who has no grasp of history. This is nothing new, hence the very ancient adage, 'Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.' History is cyclical. Everything runs in cycles. Boom, bust, echo, rinse, repeat, always repeat. That statement shows a woeful lack of understanding about the very nature of mankind. They need to read more history.

I never cared much for Orwell. The man was a pedantic wonk and a massive hypocrite to boot.

What the hell does that even mean? Can we get that again, in English this time?

Yeah, well that's because most Americans don't realize how perilously close to the end of their working lives they are or there'd be bloody revolution in the streets already. Give it a decade and you'll see. They'll be even more scared when they watch Kraftwerk's We Are The Robots.

That's a real cutie, Bob, congrats. Protip: In future take pic of said dog and said owner - actually several of them - and several of them together to show it's, in fact, his dog, then call City Bylaw and report him. At the very least he'll be on record as a problem owner so if, and when most likely, he does get popped for being the jackass he is they'll know it wasn't just a one time thing and treat him accordingly. If you're running into him at a certain time, even better, because then they can show up in that time frame to pop him. What's the pooch's name?

You guys are buying into the hype SOOOOO HARD. Keep on living in that dream world where AI can do absolutely anything, in [perpetually] just a few more years!

I take nothing on faith. I look at what humans actually do, what computers actually do, who is financially motivated to say what, and it's obvious to me where the rough boundaries are between science fact and fiction.

No, you're in denial. Neural nets have been around and in use for years. Brokerage houses, banks, accounting firms, credit card companies, the Taxman, et al. all use them. When you get a call from your bank or Cc provider notifying you of suspicious activity, what do you think is flagging said activity. How do you think the IRS flags people for audits? Who do you think actually approves you for a mortgage? Decides your credit rating? The list goes on and on and on. It's coming. It's been coming for decades. It's only now that it's moved from a slow freight train to a bullet in terms of speed.

Just google "ai replacing white collar jobs" and there's no shortage of recent articles showing not only what's on the way but jobs that are currently being replaced by AI. If you think it's all so much hooey, you're in for a very rude awakening. One day you're going to wake up broke and homeless and wonder what happened.

So let me get this straight.

All you Destiny hating panty waists are upset over colored armor, colored speeders, glow effects and other worthless micro transactions you dont have to take part in? GET A LIFE

You're obviously a child and new to gaming because these things have always been - and still are in good games - free. Or at least players have the option of making them themselves. As well as hosting their own servers, setting their own rules and conditions, etc. See, those are good things. When a company denies you choices, or presents you with the illusion of choice which is really just a way to needlessly keep their hand in your pocket that's a bad thing. And when you support those sorts of bad models it makes it worse for the rest of us. The reason evil succeeds in this world is not because people say yes to it, but because they don't say no. Grow up and stop thinking only of yourself. That's what children do.

There are plenty of jobs not suited to automation. Automation need not result in people being out of work. Automation gives people the opportunity to work in less mindless, more rewarding fields. Those who reject this opportunity are responsible for the consequences of doing so.

Actually most work is suited to automation and/or a combination of that and AI. So many people think white collar jobs won't be affected but they will, everything from doctor to lawyer to advertising exec, accountant, etc. are all easily replaceable too. Tell me what these plenty of jobs are that aren't suited to automation - realizing of course how many and what percentage of people work in the fields you name. No, it'll obviously never cover all of it, but most of it, yeah, and that's the problem. At least - least - 75% of ALL work today will be replaceable in one form or another. Hell, I'd actually like to see a lot of those aforementioned white collar jobs replaced as you know you're getting way more complete and much better objective analysis and results.

Why doesn't the community make it's own skins with the editor like all good PC games (used to do)? Oh wait!

Multiplayer would be nothing but neon green TankJR's with massive tits and robo-dong, that's why.

Yeah but think of all the great things that come from editors and a good community. Look how much more awesome games like Quake and UT were with hook, CTF, etc. All the player made stuff for CS. All the things for games like Skyrim, etc. If that sort of thing was available for Destiny I'd consider giving it a go. As it is, it's a walled garden that you pay a premium for, than half as much again for the season pass, and micro transactions to boot. Um no. Fuck that noise. I have less than zero interest in supporting this sort of scheisse and it pisses me off that other people will reward those cockbags anyway. Just one more reason I hate people.
