"The information wouldn’t be mandatory"

Yeah. Sure.

'I'd rather not provide that information.'
'No problem. Well, sorry but we can't allow you entry to the country.'
'Why not.'
'We'd rather not provide that information.' *pointed look*

Well when those greedy fucks stop their bullshit regional pricing we'll stop using services like G2A. They only have themselves to blame. This is mostly all Steam's fault anyway.

You actually typed that - always good for a laugh.

No, what's funny is how one of the great unwashed like you fail to comprehend that there are many out there who are your betters in every way, shape, and form. Thank you for illustrating why you belong to that ilk.

Because they want more than hardcore comic fans? Giggle
You do realize by taking such a negative attitude about it, your actually killing the chance to get the content you want, right? Personally I can enjoy seeing him try to deal with emotions for the first time. The series seems to be taking place at least a decade before the comics. Not to mention, it's pretty obvious someone is shielding Chloe , not mention why and who (well imo).

Are you fucking kidding me? The comic series was about the - ostensibly - second most powerful being existence being bored with all and trying to unmake creation. The TV show is the devil in a buddy cop show. He owns a bar and helps solve crimes with some bimbo model every week. Hrm, let's see, Satan trying to undo creation vs. Devil solving crimes in LA. Gee, which one is more interesting? Yeah, I suppose for people who feel network TV is awesome it would definitely be the latter. For those with an IQ over 50 it's definitely the former. So regardless of my attitude it's not like it'd ever get made because network execs want drivel that caters to the masses of which I do not belong.

Seems lots of shows are now starting years earlier, trying and hoping to get a big enough following in the first year or two to be able to afford the big budget years. Preacher, Lucifer, 12 Monkeys(at least I think it's pre-movie) and Wynonna Earp. One that's doing great (well I like it) at a slow pace is The Expanse. The first season barely got past the first half of the first book.

I can't decide which is a bigger disappointment. How fast GoT moved through the books or audiences are only interested in fast and violent content (laughable TWD).

Lucifer is so bad, yet the comic series was so good. I don't know why they even bothered.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was thinking. Never liked Tad's work anyway but when the series lunched I tought, 'Enh, I'll give it a chance.' OMFG it's so bad.

Effing sweet. I just finished W3 and the DLC - best game ever - and am sort of at a loss for what to play atm so that lines up nicely. There was another really big mod - not a TC I believe but big anyway - with a major adventure for Skyrim. Came out last year I think? Anyone recall what it was titled?

If they can cut the WoT down to the three or four books it should have been than it'll be cool. I don't know how they intend to handle the scale of the thing though. I mean Rand's army is effing huge! Even with CGI it's a tall order. How many Aiel will there be? The Seanchan? The Aes Sedai at Tar Valon Etc. The scale of it is all much bigger than what we see in GoT. And if they don't the budget to do it justice it's gonna' suck. I can just see all manner of B and C list actors rounding this out. Ugh.

George has always edited a lot more work from others than he's written himself. He's a good writer, but it's always been laborious for him. It doesn't flow for him as it does for someone like King. I've always got the sense that he infinitely prefers editing other people's work to writing his own.

It's more likely it would be early onset arthritis. It's pretty common to start in your 40s in your elbows and knees. I have touch of it in my right knee. It doesn't affect me walking but going up and down stairs I can get a sore twinge now and then. You're also more likely to get it if you ever had any accidents that involved them. It's the same with my right elbow as I broke it in 3 places a decade back. Now with any extended exertion it hurts a lot. Oh the joys of getting older, eh?

That said, I do agree it's likely just "getting old." Random shit hurts for me just about every single day. You just get used to it like every other person that gets old.

No, getting old and things like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, MS, Lyme, etc. aren't remotely the same. It's not like being tired after a hard day's work, it's feeling exhausted, constantly, like you've been going days without any sort of rest. You can feel that things are off in your body and it's not at all the normal part of the aging process. You don't just wake up one day in your 40s and you're exhausted for the rest of your days. It's deffo biochemical in nature.

I actually made a tiny website for helping with gastritis, and it did help a number of people on Internet forums.

https://gastritishelp.wordpress.com/

If you are too lazy to click, and are in the beginning stages, just take away one thing - buy "Dr's Best PepZin GI", and start taking 4 pills per day, one after you wake up, one before bed, and two others interspersed in the middle of intervals between meals.

This supplement (zinc carnosine) was invented in Japan 30+ years ago, and they've been using it for stomach ailments since then. It really does work.

Of course, you may need to suppress stomach acid as well, depending on how far gone your gastritis is. But that's all on the site.

Good site you have there. Acid reflux is common in our family and I know I get it quite easily when my diet isn't alkaline enough. It's always the first indicator I'm not eating right and need to do a course adjustment.

Concubine in the Orient would have been a better title. Everyone knows that whores live in Las Vegas.

It was called that because that was a colloquial name for Shanghai in the past.

Indeed. I'd love to see an openish world adventure game take place in Orient during that time period. From the devs....

Well Whore of the Orient was the spiritual successor to L.A. Noire. We were going to use that tech and we were going to create a game set in the 1930s, maybe 1940s, of Shanghai. Shanghai was the only place in the world you could go to in the 1930s and 1940s if you didn’t have a passport. So everybody who was running from something went to Shanghai. The whole city was run by a gangster called Big-Eared Du and it’s just the most fascinating time, place and setting.

That would have been good...if they could have delivered on it. Guess not.

How's your spine feel, Stephen? Does it feel compacted at all? Maybe a bit tingly? Do you have any brain fog going on? I've been dealing with some of this myself. So far they've ruled out Lyme, meningitis, etc. however it may be related to a cerebral spinal fluid infection, which is what they see in people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other issues that sound like Lyme, etc. Google "spinal fluid tiredness" and there's a whole host of articles about it. It's what I'm going to get my doctor to be looking at next. The damnable thing is so many conditions have all these same/similar symptoms.

Don't buy off of G2A if you can stand it. There was an article on here a few days ago, many stolen credit card rings are buying game keys and reselling them on G2A, and G2A doesn't seem to be doing much at all about it.

More on topic: I may have reached peak Steam ownership for awhile, no good sales on my wishlist at all at the moment.

I saw the article too, but wasn't it sort of speculation? It just seemed like something the RIAA drm, PR people try to push to justify all their lawsuits.

The keys are legit, they're just people using regional pricing to their advantage. Fuck the devs and publishers and Steam. So they'll lower prices in some places but raise them in others? Again, fuck them. Stellaris is on sale in Russia for the equivalent of $12 yet I'm supposed to pay $40 for the same item? If they were acting in good faith to begin with sites like G2A wouldn't exist. It's their own damn fault.

At least the Brits get a vote. Something we never got with NAFTA and aren't getting with the TPIP.
Would you really want the general public voting on matters like NAFTA and TPIP? Even if it was practical, which it isn't, I wouldn't want the ignorant public voting on these things.

Well how very anti-democratic of you. We didn't get a say and look at the result.
The voters got their say, by voting for the people in office. This isn't a direct democracy. It couldn't be even if we wanted it to be. It has always been an indirect democracy.

Like so many other issues, trade agreements like NAFTA and TPIP have so many pros and cons it is difficult to know if it really is good or bad for the US economy. Hell, arguing economics is like arguing psychology -- you never really know. Economists still can't agree on if the New Deal was good or bad for the Depression.

Whatever the case -- the solution isn't to allow a population which mostly doesn't care, and mostly wouldn't have any knowledge of the pros and cons, to decide. If you do that, you're just passing the power to talk show hosts...

No. In countries where we don't have proportional representation - America, Canada, England, India, the only 4 countries left in the world that don't and it says a lot - means up to and even beyond half of the population aren't represented and get a say in policy at all. It's the reason we have referendums on major issues like this. They far too important to be left to a handful of politicians and their supporters.
