All I want to see - required by law - are rear facing cameras that can detect tailgaters and send a signal to the other vehicle to force it to slow down and/or report it to the police with accompanying footage to bust them. That'd put an end to that horseshit PDQ.

The US worker had been headed down for decades now regardless of the internet. And let's face it, while you can actually learn stuff online the overwhelming majority is just needless entertainment/porn/games. If it ended tomorrow people would miss it for all of a week before getting on with their lives once more. The internet doesn't create food and shelter and clothing.

Did you read the article?

It is among these workers, sometimes referred to as 'blue-collar,' 'rural,' or 'low-income,' where our country's still-active digital divide is most pronounced, and even growing. With nearly each passing day, more and more of the resources that they and other non-super-wealthy Americans need simply to survive are located online (and often only online), from unemployment applications to medical services, as well as the job and educational opportunities needed to change their situations for the better, for good.

Emphasis mine. What you're saying is "No one needs plumbing. They can just dig an outhouse and haul water." That's not the world we live in any longer, not how our society is structured. We can't go back to the paper economy of 1990 just because we want to. The internet has become ubiquitous. With ubiquity comes reliance. Monopolistic industries like ISPs need more regulation, not less. ISPs are already making 100% gross profits, do they really need more money?

You utterly fail to grasp the reality of basic economics. Everyone everywhere can't be involved in service based economies. People need to actually make shit. Yes, people need plumbing, and they need plumbers more than they need the internet. How can you be so obtuse?

Given just how much money this thing raises, am I the only person starting to think the players are getting a bum deal? Valve gets 75% of the money, so a $20M prize pool means Valve is pocketing another $60M. Which is far in excess of what all of this costs them.

Compete. Create your own game and start your own tournament than. I don't recall ever seeing anywhere that Valve was considered a charity.

Thanks for trying.

You know why you can't teach a horse philosophy? Because you can't put Descartes before the horse. Cowboy

If they hadn't opened to floodgates to shovelware and EA crowdfunded crap there wouldn't be so much garbage to wade through. It's a problem entirely of their own making and the solution is as easy.

That looks pretty lame but the asians do make some crazy ass action flicks I'll give them that. If you've never seen The Raid Redemption it's a must watch. Still one of the best action flicks I've ever seen. It's just so cray cray in a good way.

Yup, I've seen The Raid as well as Raid 2, which is arguably even more insane. I liked them enough to actually buy them on Blu-Ray, which I almost never do anymore, get hard copies that is.

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for any sort of martial arts/gun battle/crazy action film, even though there is definitely a lot of chaff to sift through to get to the good stuff.

Agreed. Hard boiled still has the best over the top gunplay of any film ever. I've seen some people trying to say John Wick falls into this category, and while I like the movies they just don't have the feel of those HK flicks with guys like Chow Yun Fat in his prime.

Yang wants those who play his game to not only enjoy the voyeuristic quality of simulated cruising in public spaces, but also to think about the ways that the sexuality of gay people has historically been ― and continues to be ― policed by those in positions of power.

Oh so because I don't want to walk into a public bathroom to see a couple of dudes going at it or trying to pick me up, I'm the bad guy? That moron needs to get his fucking head checked. What you do in private is your own business. If you're having sex - gay or straight - in public you should be busted for it.

Well it was a good run while it lasted. Your children and any subsequent ones from this point forward are completely and totally fucked though. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd still bet any amount of money that we'll see WWIII and/or a major Malthusian or extinction level event by 2050. Income inequality/poverty + massive overpopulation + environmental collapse = the end of the world as we know it and you won't feel fine.

I'm always amused/annoyed/perplexed how often the GOP uses third grade tactics and make them work. Limbaugh used to (still does?) talk about the "low information voters" implying liberal leaning voters don't actually know what they are doing due to their ignorance.

However, Limbaugh and the GOP in general uses the "low information voters" on the conservative side by filling their heads with nonsense. Claiming conspiracies of voter fraud making them feel cheated. "Obama didn't really win!" You have to give them credit though, they make it work. I don't know how to reach people like "Timmeh". When people are so clearly separated from reality, what can you do?

Gee, is it really true that over half the people you meet are below average intelligence? :-smirk-: Honestly, if there was a minimum IQ - say 10 - or education requirement - say Grade 6 - in order to vote you'd never see a conservative politician in office again. Hence the ancient adage, 'Most conservatives are rich or stupid...and most of them aren't rich.'

By Senators do they mean future board members?

No, that's too circumspect. SCOTUS determined it no longer has to be hidden, so they mean the Senators who openly take money from AT&T as bribes.

You've never seen representatives as happy as when they no longer had to pretend they weren't being bribed. Now they can just flat-out say "I'm a corporate whore, and I sold my ass for $15K to <insert corporation here>!"

The only thing that's ever amazed me is how cheaply they're bought. I mean most deals are worth millions if not billions and these guys are only taking a few lousy grand. Well, I guess until they take their board member positions as Id said. Must be nice work if you can get it, eh?

Why? All he did was Robinson Crusoe on Mars and that had already been done in 1964 - pretty decent flick too.

Robinson Crusoe on Mars

US Football like global soccer is really easy to understand. Move the ball from your side of the field to the opponents and put it over the line/in a box. And it's 60-90 minutes depending where you are. Cricket games can literally last several days I'm told.

That's why I compared it to Whackbat.
