I've been doing the beta since I first say it here at blues a while back. It is great. What I've heard is that in the near future, cards are going to be erased, and more accounts will be allowed for further beta testing. Last I heard, Cards were going to be wiped three weeks ago and new accounts could be created two weeks ago. None of this has happened.
The game itself is great. There is ALWAYS someone to play against. The ranking is great. I just love going into a sealed deck tourney and trouncing someone with a ranking 200 points higher than mine.

(This of course happens rarely)
I will not pay for this though. The beta is great. (still bugs though -- it IS a beta -- I submit about 3 bugs/ week) Don't get me wrong. But I will not pay. I will not pay 3.95 of 15 virtual cards. I will not pay 9.95 for 75 random cards. I'd rather go out to the card shop, buy the boosters, play with them, use the cards for bookmarks, let my kids chew on lands, use crappy rare leeches as targets on the dart board. How the hell can I do that with virtual cards? If I give up the game for two years, I will have to remember my username and password instead of pulling the cards off the shelf. What happens if WotC goes out of business? will then send me a disc with the cards on it? joy, I'll just shuffle it into a deck with my AOL cds.
What's that? I can get real cards?! hahah. After there was a HUGE outcry of beta testers when WotC announced the pricing policy, the company said that when a person collected an entire set of virtual cards, the virtual cards could be redeemed (read as 'deleted') and then WotC would send you the actual set. Just to put things into perspective. I've been buying cards since the Dark came out(94?) and NEVER have I come close to completing a set.
The online beta is fun...But when it goes live, they will be without this person.
