This looks like the perfect christmas gift for my sone, a HUGE Robin Hood fan. We played the demo quite a bit and that was right up our alley.

Well, looks like they changed the name of the demo file. The real "real link" is now:

Well Blizzard.com is down, it must be getting hammered but the guessing is over. Check the image of the stage [http://www.theforumisdown.com/uploadfiles/0802/scghost.jpg] in full swing. You can check out a preview [http://cube.ign.com/articles/371/371540p2.html] of the shooter with lots of images at IGN, you'll have to pay to view the images though.

I've been disillusioned by Civ III. Went out and bought it and there was no multiplayer. Doesn't Sid Meyer (sp?) know what kind of havoc this can cause when my wife an I have to fight over the computer to play the game? We were happy playing Alpha Centari together...Now I have to sleep on the couch.

in, like, forever. LOL. Yup. I remember watching T-Birds around the same time I watched StarBlazers; and for some reason, StarBlazers is the show I remember most from my childhood. Now if someone would do a Live-Action of that...

Worms is a great time killer. Love the series I do. I just hope that the 3d view doesn;t screw up what Worms had going for it. Remeber Lemmings and Lemmings II? Great games! Remember Lemmings 3? Nope? they tried out a 3D interface. yick.

Thief UT Mod Jul 8, 2002, 21:08
Jul 8, 2002, 21:08

OK, I DLed the mod and it is Great! here are a few of my observations.

1. It requires a faster processor that UT (or so it seems). I run UT on my PII-450 and all is well. This was choppy on my system.

2. On a system with one of those "Gamma-Correction-is-way-off-track" monitors, it is too darn dark to play on even with the gamma turned all up.

3. The Game is a blast while playing it with your son and daughter as we take turns being the thief.

4. This is a Top notch mod; one that I would pay $$ for.

Just a few thoughts.

I bought it, I didn't know it doesn;t use safe disc. I don't want to know what copy protections are on my CDs. I just want them to work.

This is why I can't wait for Multi player. IT will NOT be RTS. I LOVED multi in Alpha Centari. Turn based required thought and planning. not Click Festing. But Damn, I don't want to Pay for it to get multiplayer ability. I pre-ordered teh game when mulitplayer was "supposed" to be included.

Now there is a cartoon for ya. Starblazers made a profound impact on me as a child (Hell I;d get up at 6:30 on a school day to watch this). Recently (as in last year) I aquired teh full first season and gave it away at one of my LAN Parties. It was one of the "First Pick" of prizes.

MtG:O beta... Apr 4, 2002, 15:44
Apr 4, 2002, 15:44

I've been doing the beta since I first say it here at blues a while back. It is great. What I've heard is that in the near future, cards are going to be erased, and more accounts will be allowed for further beta testing. Last I heard, Cards were going to be wiped three weeks ago and new accounts could be created two weeks ago. None of this has happened.
The game itself is great. There is ALWAYS someone to play against. The ranking is great. I just love going into a sealed deck tourney and trouncing someone with a ranking 200 points higher than mine. (This of course happens rarely)
I will not pay for this though. The beta is great. (still bugs though -- it IS a beta -- I submit about 3 bugs/ week) Don't get me wrong. But I will not pay. I will not pay 3.95 of 15 virtual cards. I will not pay 9.95 for 75 random cards. I'd rather go out to the card shop, buy the boosters, play with them, use the cards for bookmarks, let my kids chew on lands, use crappy rare leeches as targets on the dart board. How the hell can I do that with virtual cards? If I give up the game for two years, I will have to remember my username and password instead of pulling the cards off the shelf. What happens if WotC goes out of business? will then send me a disc with the cards on it? joy, I'll just shuffle it into a deck with my AOL cds.
What's that? I can get real cards?! hahah. After there was a HUGE outcry of beta testers when WotC announced the pricing policy, the company said that when a person collected an entire set of virtual cards, the virtual cards could be redeemed (read as 'deleted') and then WotC would send you the actual set. Just to put things into perspective. I've been buying cards since the Dark came out(94?) and NEVER have I come close to completing a set.

The online beta is fun...But when it goes live, they will be without this person.

Best movie? Bah. It is entertaining, but I don't. I remebre reading teh book back in the last 80's and finding the book a hoot. Of course, we all know that the movie is never as good as the book. If I'm not mistaken, Shawshank Redemption came out the same year as Gump. How Gump could be considered Movie of the year next to Shawshank, is beyond me.

I almost didn't read this article. I am eagerly awaiting MOO3. But I was bored, so I read it. In the article is a reference to the board game Twilight Imperium as an influence for this game! Twilight Imperium Rocks! If you ever get a chance to play this game, do so. It is a cross between Diplomacy, Axis and Allies and Master of Orion.

This game is not quite what I was looking for when I first read about it. I want a MULTIPLAYER briddgecrew game. Each person plays a different role, helmsman, weapons, communication, etc. I was wanting a snazzy version of Bridge Crew. (http://www.mithrilsoftware.com/bcrew.html) Now, this game is really cool. I play it a lan parties. Put up a projection screen and put a guy in the captains chair in charge of a few others sitting at their terminals and viola -- A great time. (Too bad this games graphics are shot, but if you get past that and the learning curve it is a blast -- especially if you go against a Klingon crew in another room!)
