Boy, that does sound very, very similar to Demigod, doesn't it? Too bad for them it's probably coming out after it (Demigod is scheduled for Feb 09, last time I checked).

Interesting.
Take that, EA.

Keep in mind that Warhead is an EA game.
Spore is an EA game.
Both get good review scores, yet player opinions seem to be mixed.
Hmmmmmm.

Meh. Poorly balanced and geared towards vehicles. Like a bad version of BF2.

Marines comes with a new campaign (albiet very lengthy) and a handful of new units. That's it. The rest of the "game engine enhancements" are going to be released as a patch for regular CMSF anyway.

My full review of Dark Horizon is not going up until next Tuesday, but I'll give you a short preview: it's not good.

Maybe it would have worked if they let the changes happen naturally over time instead of having some all-knowing force chose the outcomes.

I think that was an attempt at an evolution/intelligent design joke. I'm tired and I can't tell.

If anything, UT3 didn't do enough. Why were the number of game modes in UT3 half of what they were in UT 2004? Answer: console limitations killed bombing run, mutant, domination, last man standing, assault, and invasion.
And the menus are clearly console driven. How else can you explain that UT 2004 had a better system by putting more information on a single screen, designed for high-resolution displays viewed from a couple of feet away?

The Sunday release is to ensure that every store has copies of the game on that particular date. Deliveries are made on Friday and that gives one full day to stock the shelves and get coordinated. At least that's my theory.

I love how the press release states "today revealed additional details." Yeah, you know, about the combat system that's been around for years in the game that anyone who has downloaded the beta knows about.

Anyway, no need to generate enthusiasm...it's already high enough!

Spore will change the way people look at games forever...
but EA is still a bloated, broken game company.
