A battle of two Dawn of War II reviews...but there can be ONLY ONE. Fight!

Pretty much. I did reviews in the past for GameGenie.com, and when I started Out of Eight I referenced those. I started out doing a lot of indie games (developers are quite willing to get any type of coverage), and as I started accumulating more reviews and more visitors, larger publishers started sending me games as well: Matrix, Paradox, Stardock, 2K, Sega, Microsoft, THQ, et cetera. You can see the progressive trend in my reviews index. Now, I average about 1,800 hits per day, which is quite respectable in my opinion; Google searches actually bring in the most traffic, and having over 500 reviews helps as well. When I started, I got about 40 visits a day, so the popularity has certainy increased. Digital distribution makes a huge difference, as publishers are much more willing to send a download that essentially costs them nothing than a retail box that costs money to ship.

I want a Dawn of War 2 out of eight review!

I have too many games to play at once: Dawn of War II, Sins: Entrenchment, Men of War, F.E.A.R. 2. The true pains of getting games for free.

I like what the "Features" sections lists on the site:

The Gamer's Gate version of the game that I got to review weight in a little over 3 GB before installation. Right now, everyone is playing with a different version, depending on where you got it: Russia, Europe, Gamer's Gate. England release is next week and it comes out in the U.S. March 10th. They are planning on releasing a patch that will bring everyone to the same version "this week," and that's what the MP beta has been used for.
So far, the short of Men of War: SP hard, MP fun.

Yeah, I had to wait until the day of release before THQ sent me the Steam code (I was lucky to even get that...no retail boxes for my little site!)
I'm still waiting for a copy of F.E.A.R. 2; I am supposedly in the "second wave" of copies going out, which sounds about right to me.
I'm also supposed to get Sins Entrenchment when it comes out tomorrow, and I have a Gamer's Gate version of Men of War that I've been enjoying (the multiplayer, at least; SP is too hard for my little brain).

I'm actually in the process of doing a DoW 2 review right now. It's going up Sunday. Looks to be quite positive.

Well, in my Perimeter 2 review, I clearly plug the English language. I'm expecting my check, Mr. Merriam Webster. Cheap bastard.

Seconded on that Steam deal. Having Eets OR Trials 2 OR Multiwinia alone is worth $10. All of those plus two more games is a great offer.

Important parts being "was" and "beta."
The MP aspect of the release will most definitely be different, especially because of the changes made due to feedback from the beta. I bet people might be curious how the changes are before they plunk down $50 on it.

Why before-release reviews cannot be fully trusted: a three-sentence paragraph addressing the multiplayer aspect of the game.

The ongoing MP beta is really fun as well. With this game, Dawn of War 2 and Empire: Total War, the 1st Quarter of 2009 looks to be quite strong for the strategy genre.
