I think I'm temporarily burned out on tower defense games, as I had no desire (nor time, really) to do a review of Unstoppable Gorg, which lies on my Steam account.
I did play a couple of levels and the rotation dynamic could be interesting if the rest of the levels use it well: you can place turrets and resource producers on fixed points on each ring, and rotating it might expose undefended resource hubs to enemy attack, so you kind of have to luck out a bit on where the alien paths end up going.

1s and 2s are reserved for a special level of hell that does not deserve mention on the precious sidebar, like this or this or this.

As I mentioned in the review, it has potential if the interface was clearer and the AI was better. But people who need tank sims would find enjoyment, I would think.
I've played the beta. Like the quote above says, it's different because you can rotate your towers in several levels around planets they orbit. The enemies then go between the orbits in several paths, so there is another layer of strategy of where to place your towers and where to rotate their fixed positions in orbit against specific foes. Other than that, it's pretty standard tower defense stuff, though I found the first couple of levels to be pretty challenging.

Yeah. It's not quite as bad a some review outlets would leave you to believe, but the AI and physics ruin the game.

Correct. But when you can't afford to buy your own copies of games (there's no way in hell I would buy FlatOut 3 just for a review), you are at the mercy of the publisher.
A similar thing happened with Sword of the Stars 2: a buggy mess that was released at launch, the review codes send out a couple of patches later. It still stunk, as does this.
I'm also reviewing this game, and it is pretty bad. Just watch this video I made of the woeful AI. That's all you need to know.
