I can see both sides of the equation on doing a review, but I simply am not able to play enough of the game to evaluate anything that would remotely constitute the level of detail I require in writing a review. As a comparison, SotS 2 was better off (if you can believe that) and playable enough (and I even waited a week on that one) to render a verdict and talk about what was missing. In the case of LoP, it seems like large chunks of the game are missing or wholly underdeveloped. This doesn't even count the large number of bugs that cause corrupted saved games and crashes to the desktop.
I honestly have nothing to write about. If I did a review, I would be making analysis up based on whatever features are described in the manual. I did send out a tweet regarding this issue, so everyone should simply avoid the game until further notice. |

I'm in my third or fourth system and myself and three races are all allied against one, whom we need to destroy to earn a diplomatic victory. |

I still don't understand why some (or more) people up North don't have air conditioning. I was up in Pittsburgh for a week and it was hotter there than in Florida. My A/C clicks on a 5 AM and I'm fine with it |

It would help. There's just something "off" about the game that doesn't make it terribly fun to play. The lack of feedback is part of it. |

Is the AI tweakable at all? It took me about 3 games to figure out the most efficient build, and after that I have owned the AI pretty regularly. The Gamespy review also says the AI is good, and it is, except when it comes to moving ships and choosing weapons, which you notice after 40 hours. The difficulty setting only increases the economic bonus the AI gets, unfortunately. |
