Yeah, the campaign is just OK, thanks to some inconsistent tactical AI. I like the idea of the campaign (Total War-style), but the execution just lacks something. I think the AI just isn't aggressive enough in the campaign mode. The AI is better in skirmish mode, however. The rest of the improvements are all minor ones, so it's a steep $40 investment if you already have WEE. But I find WALB to be really, really fun (as I did WEE) in multiplayer. |

The interface is better this time around, namely identifying units using icons (I used NATO symbols which works very well) instead if just with the names. I really like the game (I really liked WEE also). |

It is kinda interesting, definitely a different approach since you have to balance the two sides while still allowing them to cause damage to each other and neutrals. It's challenging, too. |

I want it, but they've been blasting it in the forums for being super buggy and unfinished. Ima wait for a sale/ a few patches on it first. I haven't experienced any major problems with it. Here's video of me playing it for almost an hour. |

I have transitioned from written reviews to video impressions, so I didn't feel it was appropriate to post alongside reviews anymore. |

Verno wrote on Mar 5, 2013, 09:48: I wish the critics were taking less EA ad money All of the reviews that came out before release were done at a press-only event at EA HQ last weekend using limited numbers of players on one (most likely low ping) server. Obviously, none of the server connection issues could be assessed in such a closed environment. Personally, it doesn't matter how good or bad a game may be if you cannot play it. |

Omerta's main issue is a lack of depth: it's too easy to succeed and you end up doing the same thing each mission. At least it has the tactical battles to vary things up a bit. |

jacobvandy wrote on Feb 13, 2013, 00:54: They had a review embargo lasting until two weeks after the game came out on Steam? Lol.. Yeah, the PR guy from Kalypso wanted me to wait until the retail release date to post the video (I didn't realize PC games were still sold at retail). I actually had it done a month ago as the review version was handed out the beginning of January. Seems like some other sites did not have the same restrictions, as they posted reviews when the game hit Steam. |
