So, in order to receive updated content one has to subscribe? I'm not sure I like the sounds of that. Of course, it all depends on exactly what constitutes an upgrade.

Moore's comments at last years Oscars pretty much made me want to smack him in the mouth and convinced me that I will never pay to see one of his movies again.

Yeah, that's where I stand too, even though I _almost_ agreed with his position. Showbiz types who hijack the Oscars for thier own political agenda (although an argument could be made that his motives were really about self-promotion) should be taken out back and shot.

i was suppost to go to walmart to buy some paper, pens and a binder but its labour day and its closed now

It's OK. If you really want to be cool like the Fredster you're gonna have to quit school, go on welfare, and sit a home all day with the shades drawn spanking it.

So you won't need those school supplies...

If their core market wanted a green box with Elvis stickers all over it, they would do that, too.

Hey, that's a great idea! Let's start a petition for this!

I actually read through the entire 300+ comments in the last thread, and I got about halfway through this one before I finally got tired of reading the same thing, over and over.

What it boils down to is this: Companies such as Gamespy have the right to work out exclusivity deals with publishers in order to help thier businesses (free market).

Gaming sites (and thier patrons) have the right to object to such practices, and to protest such measures as they see fit (free speech).

Publishers have the right to adjust thier business practices in order to maintain thier customer base (free market again).

Everybody's actions in this case were voluntary, and based on self-interest. Welcome to capitalism, folks.

I miss Shooters with hosts Blue and Loonyboi
on agn.com
haha, I used to watch it too. AGN was part of Pseudo.com I beleive (or vice-versa).

Forget shooters! I was a regular listener of Quakecast, with JudgeCal, Blue, Looni and Just. Good times.

(I'd still like to find some copies of the 'ads' they used to run on that show, they were 'a fine product'.)

Braun Flavor Select
+ Gold-plated filter basket
+ Nabob Tradition Regular Grind
================================
The Best Tasting Coffee in the World(TM)

Seriously! One thing though, the pot and filter must never be washed, only rinsed. If you wash either of those puppies it takes like a week for the flavor to return.

Well, I tried it. It definately has a couple nice things about it, but I stil prefer the way IE handles searching (the search side-bar). Pop-up blocking I already have.

(And what's with the loooong load-up time, I thought this thing was supposed to be 'lean-and-mean'?)

OK, after hearing people evangelize about this Firebird thing I've decided to download the thing and try it.

I'm warning you though, if it sucks I'm coming after you people!

Is it just me, or does that photo of Saturns moon 'Mimas' look like the Death Star?

That's not a moon, that's a space station!

. . .However, political will is needed to inspire the public to support the initiative.

Unless the public forsees the possibility that they themselves might get to visit such a facility, I doubt that they'd be willing to get behind such an expensive endeavor. I for one would take issue with public monies going towards a very expensive playground for a few elites, especially considering the real good those funds could do if they were instead spent here on little old Earth.

Offer the loyal an add free subscription plan.

Honestly, I don't see why Blue is so resistant to this idea; to me it seems like a win-win-win. The folks that are just itching to subscribe to an ad-free version of the site are satisfied, and the folks that are perfectly happy to put up with ads in order to get thier news for free are satisfied as too. All the while Blue collects the revenue from either side of the site.

Ugh! I just had to click through a full-page advertisment BEFORE I could continue on through to the main site.

C'mon, Blue. Allow us to bypass this stuff with a subscription or something!

There was a woman who was in the elevator at the time. Can you imagine how scarred for life she is?

That was what I immediately thought of; imagine being stuck in an elevator with a headless corpse for 15-20 minutes. Brrrr.

I ran into the same situation with Shaw Cable. They're always advertising 'unlimited access' and yet if you use too much upstream (I was running an internet radio station) the phone starts ringing. I wish I had the resources to sue the bastards.

#2 it doesn't stand for anything; it is latin and means "thus", as in "it was written thus".
