I actually read through the entire 300+ comments in the last thread, and I got about halfway through this one before I finally got tired of reading the same thing, over and over.
What it boils down to is this: Companies such as Gamespy have the right to work out exclusivity deals with publishers in order to help thier businesses (free market).
Gaming sites (and thier patrons) have the right to object to such practices, and to protest such measures as they see fit (free speech).
Publishers have the right to adjust thier business practices in order to maintain thier customer base (free market again).
Everybody's actions in this case were voluntary, and based on self-interest. Welcome to capitalism, folks.
