They'll all the 9.5 or 10/10s, whether the game deserves it or not.

I hope it is a game worthy of those scores.

I don't think any of the reviewers I watch actually give scores. But you're right that its Metacritic score is destined to be high regardless of whether or not its a total mess that modders have to fix again.

I immediately jumped to the conclusion we were talking about things like IGN or Gamespot, and neglected to consider anything else. Apologies.
I have my own list of reviewers and/or content creators I trust, smaller content creators that I always look forward to hearing their opinion about stuff and know I can trust.

I thought I would be more impressed by graphics and effects. I must admit I'm not totally blown away. I was very impressed by the D2R update but if I compare D4 and D2R I definitely can't say D4 looks better.

Sorry, but if that's the case then you definitely need your eyes checked... Here's today's gameplay in 4K, and that's from the console version! But even if the fidelity was on par, D2R is still held back by the stiff animations, basic mobility, abhorrent UI, etc. which are inherent to the nostalgia-milking nature of its existence.

I agree. They've nailed the atmosphere and graphics. There's a night and day difference between D2R and D4, if you've watched all the D4 vids released the last couple years. Hopefully the final game maintains and hopefully improves on what we've already been shown.

Everything else beyond that is still up in the air. Very very....very much up in the air.

Everythings delayed.

I am, and I assume many others, still waiting for my preorder for the 512gb version. It was "Q1" window when I preordered and then a couple days later after the preorder silently changed to "Q2" -- placed the preorder about 75 minutes into the preorder launch...almost one year ago. I think their version of Q2 was originally a Jan - March window too, and that changed. May be wrong about that.

I'll play through it once on the PC if just for the story/lore. Maybe all the other stuff will pleasantly surprise after half a decade development..... Or maybe it'll be a giant Clown show.
It'll be nice to hear the soothing tones of Deckard Cain again.

I was surprised and very disappointed that you do not get the mount during the story. Gating it behind that s**t meta was salt in the wound.
Maybe I missed it, nothing in ANETs marketing (which is usually god awful anyway) suggested the mount is an end-game reward and that it doesn't' factor into the story and the new maps weren't designed in any way to take advantage of the mount. At the same time, nothing in their marketing suggested it wasn't an endgame reward that had nothing to do with the story and new maps. *sigh* And yeah, I've heard the mount is useless. But how do you really follow up on Griffon and Skyscale. On another note, I wish I chose to deliberately not use the Skyscale for the expansion maps - I realized after the fact how much it trivialized exploration of the maps. May have slightly ruined the experience for me.

I played through it, did the metas once (and about 5 or 6 attempts on the last meta) and just burned out, besides logging in for the login rewards I have not actually played the game since I beat the storyline a few days after launch. I agree the metas are blah - back to the HoT meta rotation if/when I get back into GW2.

Apparently someones acid-trip take on the original Final Fantasy.

I wish it was on Steam so it likely would have had discounted Keys on GreenMenGaming.
$80 Canadian on Epic store for a PC port from a company that has an unreliable inconsistent record with PC ports is a no-go for me.

EDIT: aaaand no longer then 15 seconds after I made this post I search for this game on google - the first thing I see is this PC Gamer article I'm shocked.

On Valtan for West, Galatar for East. Wanted to quick make chars and reserve names on both servers. Got some of them, at least the primary one I wanted.
Will likely start on East despite living in the West, will see how ping goes.

SS4 was almost vaporware - for how long it took. The game turned out ok, somewhat. EDIT: the final final level, was awful and exploitative of their marketing about how 1000000 enemies could be on the screen at the same time. It was a lie, and 99% of that shit was background noise and didn't actually exist in the game. Terrible level.

SS3 looked and played better than SS4 at launch, on the PC, which was a tad disgraceful. I haven't touched SS4 in over a year, but I assume beside the France level nothing has changed or been properly optimized. The SS4 port was full of issues, Croteams solutions were derp. And consider this, SS3 got a lot of shit at launch, warranted for the first 5 levels. With that acknowledged -- SS3 > SS4 for performance, variety and graphics. A game from 2011 I believe.

The side games in the SS series have never caught my attention and I'm a SS player since SS1. I won't give them a cent if this is some bullshit title reaping off of the name. The arcade shit can die.

I don't have much faith left in any SS announcement. Except for one smaller part of of their game development -- the sound and music of the SS series has since SS1 always been some of the best in the entire genre. Someone give the sound engineers and the composer a massive raise if they decide to stick with this franchise.

EDIT:

I would, likely, pay for a SS3 remaster
I would pay for a SS4 complete remaster with proof of MASSIVE improvements over the current release, and with a DISCOUNT for original SS4 buyers.
I wouldn't touch the first three games anymore, they've re-released them enough (SS1 FE, SE and SS2)
I doubt this announcement is for a proper SS5 - it is very likely for some spin-off shit no one actually cares about.

I don't really understand how SquareEnix could have botched this. Before anyone says "$$$", they've had a good amount of success (on all fronts, including quality) on the PC the last few years -- and then the biggest release they've had since Dragon Quest XI they completely screw up. The last 3+ years, most, if not all, of their PC releases (ports included) have been good to excellent - until now. Consistency matters, particularly in this case. It's FFVII ffs.

Boggles the mind, and at the price they're charging. Granted the release includes the DLC which, I believe, cost original buyers of the console version extra.

But god damn.

So, it's kind of a dialbo-ish isometric ARPG? Looks a little interesting, but not sure it's really my cup of soda. Anyone with experience with it?

Diablo'ish, yep but less complex than even Diablo 1 (example: loot and loot drops aren't even random). I owned it in 01/02 on the GC. I remember enjoying it at the time quite a bit. I recently, last year, played it again through "alternative" means. It did not hold up at all; I can't recommend it for $33.99 CAD. Deep steam sale, sure.

Square irked some with Dragon Quest XI (PC)

Buy the game full price in 2018, a couple years later they launch the Switch Port (definitive edition) that had slightly worse graphics, some extra content, orchestral music OST (which you could mod into the original release) and features like faster battles. They didn't charge full price for the port, but close. They gave no discount to people that bought the original PC version, who wanted the new features. Not that I completely feel anyone is entitled to anything here, like a discount - this is just what happened and it stirred up some sh*t.

I expect full price for FFVII PC Remake with the DLC. Won't buy day-one, can't trust anyone with PC ports anymore. Also, the recommended specs seem extremely forgiving for running at 1440p, in my opinion which I base on how other PC ports of PS4/5 whatever games turn out on PCs for people with monster machines. We'll see.

Edit: to save people time, recommended specs assuming running at 1440p (which they specifically note, 1440p) : I7-3770 / R3 3100, Gtx 1080/Rx 5700 -- they do not mention target FPS for this spec. I assume not great.
