They must have paid Croteam a good chuck of change for that arrangement....
SS4 has been in development for years, probably since late 2011 when they finished and released SS3.

I thought Denuvo was piracy protection, not anti-cheat protection? Or do they do both now?
Both, unfortunately.

Also, damage control got a lot of ass kissing from redditors, making Bethesda sound like the second coming of Jesus. Oh sure, devs didn't know what they were doing or didn't test the changes on Linsux (Forgive me Burrito, I have sinned).

Remuvo Denuvo.
Since when is Reddit not ass kissing?
It has pretty much become the PR mouthpiece of corporations.

I agree. I do not visit many gaming subreddits so my experience there is limited. But for media like Movies and TV Shows, yeah subreddits are absolutely owned by corps and ran by paid shill mods; I have no doubt the entire site is this way.

/startrek
/starwars
/gameofthrones

The list goes onnnnnnn. It's awful. On the other side, they all have other fan made subreddits that are pretty big where people aren't censored or fed shit.

I briefly skimmed that article.

I realize the 9900ks was a specially binned product - the 10900k seems to be, performance wise, identical and possibly slightly slower then the 9900ks. Need more data, but this is all very meh for a "next gen" product. As is tradition the last few years.

Starting and stopping
When your game starts, Denuvo Anti-Cheat starts automatically.
When your game stops for any reason, Anti-Cheat stops automatically.
Although Anti-Cheat starts with the game, actual monitoring only happens during multiplayer matches.

From Bethesda's site. I would like proof any monitoring only starts during multiplayer, despite starting up when the game launches.
I have only touched single-player, so far. Was looking forward to the single player dlc's coming, but not so much if Denuvo is required now.

Weak.

So these are screenshots of a version of D3 that was discarded, prior to the building of the D3 they released?

That is correct, it was going to be an MMO-ARPG, likely subscription based that was heavily based in Heaven and/or to do with Heaven.

Looks like a winner to me. I wonder why they canceled.

Brevik, the Schaefer's and Roper all bailed/were fired (not exactly sure) when a number of issues between them and Vivendi formed based on, in part, the progress of this version of Diablo 3. I believe they were actually let go based Stay Awhile and Listen Book 2

You can go here and go down to "Disbandment"

I love these, and all the other ones that came before over the years.

In 2005, around the time the first leaked screenshots hit the internet for this version, there were leaks that Uelman recorded most of the soundtrack to the game in Prague with one of the major Czech recording orchestras. He confirmed that himself a number of years later. At that time, we did not know the game had been cancelled and assumed D3 was well in the works.

Think about it, there's orchestrated Uelman Diablo music on a hard drive, somewhere, almost no one has ever heard for a game that never happened made by the creators of the first two games.

Haven't followed Brevik in a couple years but I thought he was toiling on his own early access game during that time?

I have not played it; it's a Terraria thing. Released mid last year.
Seems to be well received.

I have a lot of thoughts about David Brevik, vastly positive. I love him, he's amazing to listen to. But I don't see him as the ARPG god a lot of people do at all. A lot of that comes from things he's said himself about the development of Diablo and Diablo 2. And the Shaefers too.

I wish all the best to him, Bill, and the developers.

Intrigued on the premise...not so much on the art style.
All the best to them, I hope they don't overreach on the realistic scope of the project with stretch goals as so many young indies before have.

Just in case Blizzard decides to lawyer it up, definitely going to download the mod and put it somewhere until Grim Dawn and its expansions are on sale.
