Have fun testing this Alpha testers!

On that note, is the game (so far) any good? Do you think it will live up to the hype? (Please no spoilers) Thanks.
I played the prologue yesterday and here's my take:

  • Intro CGI sequence is awesome
  • cool char generation embedded into intro
  • graphics are very good, nice transition from cut scene / dialogue to game world and back
  • art style seemed good where Original Sin was just too "cartoonish" for me
  • combat was easy to pick up
  • some nice skill checks / decisions in the first hour, not sure I want to see the D20 die roll, though

While I swore to myself to never touch a fantasy RPG again after Witcher 3 (it was just too good) I actually want to play this now.

^ This plus way more.

The Char creation is just awesome. I spent at least 20 mins getting my char where I wanted her.

BTW, the stats they released a while back on the race traits and skills was all wrong, its now correct in the game. Was so glad to see that fixed.

The story and game play so far and been nothing but Awesome DnD.

Serious Sam 4 looks good... Gonna try it out

Assuming you're "serious", I would temper your expectations.
It's fine.. took the risk and bought it. Played through it once on normal. The reviews I've read, including the more harsh ones, have been honest.

Music's awesome though, really happy about that.

Caught/Stealthily modifying, how about instead they were fixing their mistakes.
They used the wrong caps, it happened to more that one card manufacturer.
Nothing to see here.
Although EVGA did come out almost immediately with new glamour shots and an explanation.

Props to Jacob and EVGA..

This is the most ridiculous launch I can remember for anything (major) hardware related.

Double the price for increased 10%-ish 4K FPS? Uhm... no.

LOL

Again, though, this is the new TITAN.

Is it, though? Linus's video today shows that some common Titan features have been completely disabled on this card via drivers which effect various performances negatively on whatever workloads discussed. Worth a watch (and a rewatch for me).

Aww, sad to see of some these reviews. Was hyped to buy it today, avoided preordering but thinking I too may wait for a sale.

On SS3 - I liked the game, after the first 4 or 5 call of duty missions. Really opened up in the latter half of the game and I really enjoyed the last level (like all Serious Sam final levels) with friends.

Edit: I enjoy and trust this guys reviews and this really bums me out

Assuming it's true, it's not a surprise. Early adopter tax dealing with this, that's what you get.

Those of us waiting for more information about 20gb \ Ti or Super versions, and/or RDNA2 thank you all for beta testing 3080 for us.

Maybe a graphical upgrade.

Already available, and it's glorious Check previous version notes for more information about the changes made in this mod. There are a bunch. This version is the final version, the creator even just posted that it's unfortunate the source only now just got released, as he's done.

Frictional posted:

Approved by Frictional Games!
"the amount of work that must have gone into this is impressive! We'll post this in our mod showcase channel on Discord!"

I think the original release of this was in June.

This is one franchise that looked great and played like trash.

Not with a friend or several.
Single player was always a bit souless and empty (to credit your point?), ever since the original game but it was always about multiplayer.

Just saying... if Samsung is your pick... the EVO line is way better bang for basic Loading apps / levels buck.
Don't let your eyes get squirreled away with a ton of useless benchmarks. Always look at the real-world load times for applications... because that is mostly what you would be doing.

I'll keep your post in mind before making a final decision.
Thanks for the info!

Want that 980 Pro for a new build. Been running a 950pro for a few years, it's fine. This is a bit better.

Would you be buying this strictly for E-Peen purposes, because in normal day-to-day use you wouldn’t notice a difference.

Possibly, haven't really thought about it. I'm in new build hype mode right now; been stockpiling gold pieces for a few years to actually build a PC I make no compromises on. Always had to compromise over the past 20 years. For example, I chose the 6600k over the 6700k on my last build because I needed to save the extra $100 at the time; I regretted that decision then, and I still do today. More like another term thrown around, "future proofing". Who knows what next gen console ports will require or take advantage of on the PC, the term SSD is getting thrown around so much. Also, the 1gb 980Pro appears to have a similar MSRP (if not cheaper) to what my 512gb 950Pro cost me in 2016. I'll need a new drive anyway.
Edit: What I should have done last time was scale back the 950Pro to maybe an Evo, and bought the 6700k instead.

Remember to buy a POWERFUL and RELIABLE PSU with the RTX 3080. In a Crysis Remastered test, German game magazin PC Games Hardware ran into problems with their MSI RTX 3080. They had to exchange their Seasonic 750 watt PSU for a 1000 watt PSU and the problems were solved... So: yes. It needs power. LOTS AND LOTS of power.

Did they massively OC their (assuming they're running Intel) processor, or run some crazy test bench. 750w gold PS should be more than enough unless they've gone nuts with their setup, well beyond what an average consumer would do.
