Midas Magic. Fuck that guy, he deserves every bit of hate he's been getting.

and it's only the beginning.
The Steam platform convinced me to remove the "eye patch" and now it looks like that same platform is going to convince me to put it back on.

I have been on this Earth for 52 years and in all sincerity this is one important lesson I have learned.

When it's done for the "love" of the action, The end product shines.

When it's done for money, the product suffers.

This is never more true than with modding.

I don't blame modders.
Valve and Bethesda, YOU GOT IT WRONG!!

I haven't read or seen enough to convince me otherwise.

Well you'd be wrong.
I have logged almost 300 hours on PCars and all of that crap in the quote you supplied was fixed ages ago.

I can say it's still not quite ready. There are some outstanding issues which need fixing. AI, strange timing issues, minor GFX issues, etc.
That being said IMO the best physics in a racing game ever. Yes I've played Assetto Corsa.
They added a bunch of sliders so you can tailor your Force feedback to your liking. My G27 works a bloody treat.
There's a video on Youtube somewhere of PCars running on triple 4K monitors.

Not a "mess" as such.
It's getting better all the time but, needs more time.

Pre-order rewards for a crowd funded game? Super, just super.

It's great that we now live in a world where game developers can by-pass traditional publishers and their creative control and marketing bullshit, and get funding directly from customers - and then ignore them and sign up with a traditional publisher anyway because once the crowd funding dries up, their opinions don't matter any more.

Well.....
As a person who has been a crowd funder of this game almost from the start.
All the added extras and cars I've had and help de-bug for over a year now.
So as a "Team Member +" I am not going to miss out on anything.

I've got Assetto Corsa and this beats it (in my opinion) hands down.
(in my opinion) Best racing sim ever. (and still not finished. It will get better)

Yeah well kid....
The longer you live the more the corporate world beats the optimism out of you.

Does this release contain the fix for browser-related freezing on 400 and 500 series cards that was in the beta?

I haven't used new drivers in forever because of the nasty freezing and bsods that started happening on my 560ti. I can't remember what version it started on but it is just stupid.

It's been mentioned here several times before, but switching the power mode to "max power" rather than "adaptive" seems to fix that for most people.

It fixes BSOD but, there are STILL freezes/stalling for a few secs at random times.

I think a lot of Fallout fans remain bitter to this day over how the whole thing turned out.

P.S. In Fallout 3, the first town is built into the massive crater of an unexploded bomb. The CRATER of an UNEXPLODED bomb. Think about that one for a moment. Fallout 3 writing kills brain cells. Fact.

LOL!!!!
Go to the fridge dude and pour yourself a nice cold glass of "get over it" juice.

I have a 560ti and suffered from that blue screen problem that started happening with new drivers about i dunno 3-4 months ago.

anyone know if they solved that prob? seemed like quite a few 5xx users had the prob.

Yep same card and haven't used a new driver since 214.11 because of annoying bluescreens.
Will not be updating until confirmation that this problem is fixed.
The funny thing is it doesn't happen while playing games only on the desktop or surfing the net.

Tried it last night in store and the car physics are a joke.
Store had wheel and pedal set-up. I altered difficulty to top.
The "classic" F1 cars basically perform the same as current F1 cars.
I was roaring past the 100 sign in the FW08 and super late braking without locking a wheel or over shooting the corner.
It was crazy how aggressive I could be with this and the 98T without even a hint of loosing control.
The only thing they seem to change between cars is acceleration and top speed.
Good for arcade racers and console boys.
PASS!!!!!

So, have they fixed the random desktop crashing yet?
I have 314.22 on a 560ti if I use ANY later versions I get random "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within an allocated time" BSOD's.

Shrug. I have not finished a GTA game since the 2d ones. For me at least, the 3d ones are mostly sandbox police murder games. I don't play the storylines.

Did you play GTA IV? It was far more than a “sandbox police murder game”… It was a Russian mafia sandbox police murder game with the best storyline in the series. That ran like shit when released on the PC and STILLLLLL has the bug where if you use an optical mouse you can't play bowling, darts, pool,ETC.
Completed the quote for ya.
Can't even begin to imagine how many screw-ups there will be when this gets a PC release. (When RS gets around to it)
