You seem to be saying since you are using the word Faction, it's not Team. Coop is in fact PvE, not being vulnerable to attack pvpscummers.

Choosing or Not, to work with another 'Team' is in no way, nor has it ever been Coop. The mere fact you say "pvp is always on" proves it's not Coop

Just because you 'Choose' not use the word Team or Deathmatch to describe the style of pvp, doesn't make it Coop afaik.

The best I can tell, what you have is a developer or publisher lying about the gameplay to make extra sales. Misleading buyers when in fact it's pvp. If pvp was so good and great, why don't they just admit it's pvp. The reason is, the VAST majority of players, play Coop especially mmogs. These guys want some of their money, even if they have to lie about it.

IMO coop is cooperating together with friends. I played Sea of Thieves coop with friends during beta and hardly encountered any PVP, while doing my rather repetitive PVE missions...

Apparently the game has improved a lot. Hopefully there will be a free weekend so i can check it out again and see if it's worth a buy.

PvP mode? I thought it was PvP only, or PvP centric. Only reason I never played it was because of that. Typical PvP gankfest grief-fest.

I just remember following a crappy map and clues trying to find treasure, doing the same shallow missions over and over. PVP would have been welcome at that point, but due to the low population (maybe in OCE?) i hardly saw anyone... and instead had to find amusement by annoying my friends with music instruments.

Hrm, some interesting mechanics in that game, but wow, I will NOT be playing any game with perma-death in a pvp setting. Talk about time lost...

I tried it during a free weekend, and on my third mission was insta killed by two max level player camping a rooftop overlooking the PVE objective. The other maps i didn't see anyone.

Good times.

There playerbase must be pretty low if they can't even put a few noobs against each other during a free weekend.

As for Crucible... it looks pretty dull. Maybe FPS games aren't for me anymore. Long live Quake World!

I'm calling bullshit on PS5 SSD being faster than a PC's top NVMe M.2 SSD. The PCIE4 followed by Samsung 970 Pro are probably just as fast.

As well, why the hell would an M.2 SSD be the big thing he's focused on? Sounds like someone paid him. Actual RAM is faster and more critical for his unreal 5 engine.

It's custom built for one purpose. And it's faster than NVME M.2. From what I've seen, that's 3,500 throughput. This is 5,000.

I've been itching to buy a PCI4 SSD but can't justify the cost. 5000MB vs 3500MB sounds good, but when you look at real world performance there's nothing in it. Like 1 second quicker loading times? Yay!

I'll revisit again when Samsung come out with their new 980 pro's (6500/5000)... assuming i'm still employed then.

It's not about loading the game, it's about loading while playing. Supposedly, it's the point where you can seamlessly load. You no longer need levels at all. You no longer need any loading screens during the game but can offer a high level of detail inside and outside.

True, but watch your hard disk light when you play games, even games in 4k at max res and it hardly gets used. Maybe if more people had SSDs they could take better advantage of it though, and remove loading altogether like you suggested. So hopefully these new gen consoles push things a little further forward for once and stop holding us back.

Funcom has over the years continued to support the game, with new areas, dungeons and massive improvements to gameplay skins

Fixed.

TBH though i did quite enjoy this game and have always wanted to go back when they added more content. Unfortunately this looks like this is just another wasted opportunity by funcom... instead of taking advantage of the massive open world they created, and adding decent dungeons, quests, and new area's they added what sounds like an instanced temple with enemy waves?

Yay!

IMO:

Needs less tank and heli spam. It's like 99% of your time fighting in this game is with these insta spawning garbage.
Enemy spawn in on triggers needs to be removed entirely.
Maps need a complete overhaul, and made interesting with different paths/options.
Mech battles need to feel intense and interesting (what happened to "enemy mech detected", and encountering larger mech's piloted by higher ranked enemies should be made to feel 'special'.)
Need new and interesting objectives instead of the same missions over and over.
Mech's need more customization. This isn't a PVP game! Remove all the BS restrictions you've copied straight from MWO.
Mech AI is a joke, especially the friendlies.... you are meant to be on defense and your 'friends' spend the majority of their time shooting and running into the building they are meant to be protecting.
etc etc

The original Mechwarrior games had so much more mission variety and mech customisation.... way back in the 90's!

These guys have got the core mechanics and graphics working well, but the game itself just feels hollow, shallow and repetitive. It was 'OK', but very forgettable.

I remember quite enjoying this in coop quite a while back. There were a few sources of frustration though from memory, such as heavy RNG factor and spells that could randomly destroy gear pieces.

For free though you cant complain!

Yeah you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

400 hours in AOE3 and 20 hours in PF (that's more than the game is worth) say otherwise.

Rage console kiddie, rage!

Well if Twitch is anything to go by (and it usually is), ancient Fortnite has 250k vs COD's 70k...

So let's see if this COD has any staying power or is just another flash in the pan, and forgotten in <3 months.

Or here's another thought, not everyone in the world has has access to super-fast download speeds and unlimited data.

All good, watched some video's and read some reviews and have my answer. Not my type of game.
