Comes on guys, it's a Blizzard game... it's catering to the bizzfanboys and noobs of the genre - so it's just a polished really dumbed down version of what's already out there.

Though one thing that did surprise me was how bad the animations are. I always thought this was one area Blizzard specialized in.

IMO Grim Dawn was pretty good, but it got quite repetitive quickly. A lot of the classes abilities are very, very similar only with a slight difference with animation and damage.

There's also plenty of abilities and builds that appear to be useless... i personally feel they should have spent more time getting the basics right before worrying about shrines and what not.

The difficulty is all over the place as well. At the beginning pet's walk around 1 shotting everything with 1 point in them, then at some point later in the game they become next to useless even when you've built your entire build around them.

Worth the price, but it needs a lot more work.

No co-op - not even their half assed attempt from the last FC?

Getting lazier each version.

Pass.

Why is this even a surprise? COD already proves that shallow console trash can be hugely successful... time and time again.

So that's why the combat is shitty and the animations are overdone.

Cause it's from WOW 2.0.

"revolutionary"
lmao

But yes, this is Blizzard... the apple of gaming.
Doesn't matter what they make it will sell and the press will eat it up as if it's the second coming.

I hope they ramp up the difficult in this and in DOS 2.

Once i got out of the starter area the game was wayyyyy too easy.

Still a great game though.

Jumping on the bandwagon here too. Cover shooters are boring and repetitive. One gears of war game fulfilled my cover shooter requirements for life.

Looking forward to this!

Gat out of hell is terrible.

I really enjoy SR, but man... i was bored within 30 minutes. It's like they took everything that was enjoyable from SR and removed it.

SR4 was probably the worse one of the series too. Hopefully they go back to their roots with SR5 and get rid of all the magical BS, and more open world activities and less crappy minigames with time consuming stats / loading scenes.

Was thinking about buying GTA for the online component (single player bores me to tears these days), so thanks for the feedback guys - guess i'll pass.

Tried COD during the free play weekend and wow... that game feels like some low budget indie fps made 5 years ago. What a joke.

Squad looks good, but seems really overpriced for an indie early access game. Will definitely try it at some point though.

Holding off anyway till the steam sales begin on the 22nd.

So i went into this not knowing what to expect as i haven't played a COD since the first one, and...

Everything about it just feels wrong, from the animations to the sounds, to the graphics to the gameplay.

It feels like a bad console port of battlefield 1.

I actually feel bad enough about wasting bandwidth on it!

lol @ the state of gaming when shit like this is popular.

Almost everyone liked the starter island, but once you left it went down hill fast. Iirc, I don't think it did nearly as well as LotR, when it went F2P.

What? the starter island was dull, both Cimmeria and Stygia where a Conan fan's wet dream. The atmosphere in AOC was incredible.

Agreed. It felt like a crappy little single player game, and was super repetitive and linear after your first play through.

I actually enjoyed the game (ffa pvp for the win), but it lacked content towards the end of the game and was plagued with bugs and incompetent dev's who made the game worse each and every patch.

Still a hundred times better than that kiddie mmo known as WOW.

Enjoying helldivers quite a bit atm. Great in co-op.

Lots & lots of dlc's, but so far the stuff you unlock in game is just as good... at least from what i've seen so far.

after playing skyrim earlier this year for the first time, i wanted to jump in and love this game. started a daggerfall covenant character with some friends, but the game bores me to tears. i knew it was time to hang it up when i was literally nodding off to sleep at like 3 in the afternoon on a day off while playing it.

the quest design is so boring, the writing is so fucking bad, and just more of the same puerile mmo combat. all my friends ended up dropping off but one, who says the aldmeri dominion is more interesting and this and that but i just couldn't do it. felt like going to work.

Exactly my experience as well.

Never had a game put me to sleep before, but i was literally dozing off at the keyboard with this one.

I'll be glad when this MOBA game frenzy is over, it shouldn't take too long with everyone and their dog releasing one.

The is not the MOBA are you looking for...

but rather just another uninspired shooter #948793287.

Then shooters aren't your thing. Why the need to tear something like this down just because of that? Man the negativity...

Shooters aren't my thing because i don't enjoy a poorly done TF2 clone designed for kiddies/consolers with overdone animations, crappy combat & mmo like class balance?

Wouldn't expect anything else from Blizzard though!

brb off to load up quake 1 and gibbeth me some rotfish.

Phew, almost a week went by without the announcement of another MOBA! That's a relief.

Yet another crappy run of the mill FPS is announced daily

Isn't a new UT coming next year? Or was my mind playing tricks on me.

News Comments > Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Released
8. Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Released Dec 1, 2015, 17:34 Osc8r

My thoughts from open beta -

The time to kill is a joke... whoever shoots first usually gets an instant kill before the opponent gets to shoot back. Using a shield definitely helps, but even then you often cop a headshot regardless.

With the low TTK and short matches 99% of your time is just spent repeating the same preparation task or with downtime between matches.

Plenty of bugs still... main one been the matches don't start if someone leaves and a new player joins.

Graphics are crap, but taxing.

Replays are messed up, half the time the gun's aren't firing or pointing in a different direction to the player they just killed.

We also came across several *blatant* cheaters/scripters already, and there's plenty of suss ones around. But hopefully that will be less of an issue now it's not beta/f2p and they have something to lose if caught.

Can't select maps or mode? (maybe a beta thing)

Saying that it wasn't all bad, and was fairly enjoyable... but not for their asking price. I'm sure it will included in a steam sale soon enough.
