Arma 2 is a really cool game, especially if you play some multiplayer servers that use custom mods/scripts. (Some of the RPG servers come to mind)

Really, no modern shooter can compare in terms of realism. Sure the graphics aren't Call of Duty, but the sheer scale of it all and attention to on-foot, wheeled and tracked vehicle, and aircraft simulation is simply wonderful.

For people new to the series I would recommend Operation Arrowhead. They enhanced the graphics in it and fixed some other bugs, I also think the single player campaign is tightened up more.

My only complaint, and it's a huge one, is that female models can't run or hold weapons. I understand Bohemia Interactive not having female ground troops, however they have LOADS of support units and convoys in which women soldiers DO operate in real life, not to mention the insurgent troops which should have no sex preference. Also there are plenty of female pilots in real life too, of course BIS is oblivious to this. BIS is just clearly sexist, really.

Well Guild Wars 2 isn't really competing with Diablo 3. It's a full fledged MMO. If anything, WoW is its closest competition. In fact the GW2 devs want the MMO world to realize you can get a AAA MMO experience without paying a monthly fee and it's really looking like they'll be able to pull that off. The fact that the GW2 devs aren't treating like a WoW competitor is refreshing, because they are free to make a unique experience without trying to remake WoW and hope they get a few subscribers to pay for their Porsches. (*cough*Alganon*cough*)

Even though I skipped Cataclysm I'll be picking up Diablo 3 provided it isn't slapped with a monthly fee for online or ridiculously OP items in the cash shop. I was pretty much sold with the Demon Huntress announcement.

Is there some backend requirement by Sony that PS3 buttons have to be used for actual abilities/actions rather than toggles for different control sets? I see no reason why you couldn't make multiple sets of 6 functions and tie a different set to holding down the L1 / R1 buttons. or better yet use the dpad, each direction is a set of 8 functions.

Don't confuse limitations with the PS3/360 versus bad decision by the developers. Plenty of games now use a toggle that brings up a radial menu to select a lot of different options off of one master button. Hell Mass Effect uses it extensively.

Those are SOEs words verbatim when testers requested more ability slots. Their words, not mine.

I feel compelled to check this out for some reason...

though...

...I feel less compelled because EA's M.O. regarding the Sim franchise is to release a shell of a game for $50 and nickel and dime you out of another $150 to complete it.

When can this game die so we can get the inevitable "Flowers for Alganon" post?

Seriously... Runes of Magic already beat you to direct WoW ripoff and they did it free-to-play first, there's simply no reason for this game to exist.

It's an action button masher like those Marvel action RPGs. You only get 8 ability slots too because of PS3 limitations.

It simply does not warrant a monthly fee. Repetitive and content not varied enough, which seems to be the case with all superhero games.

If it was purchase price then free online then yes, it would be a fun game.

This news pretty much sums up everything that is wrong with this world, people get taken into custody for committing civil offenses now... and the state transfers civil minor offenses into criminal offenses for no reason whatsoever.

These games attract both children and young people

COD is rated M+

I agree. As much as I dislike cheaters, this is ridiculous.

All the games on my phones are pretty much crap. In fact all of the top selling iPhone and Android games would be considered shovelware crap on real handhelds.

Gamers aren't abandoning their PSPs and DSs for smartphones. They already have smartphones and are awaiting the 3DS and PSP2.
