So, to spell it out for you, since you clearly don't understand sarcasm... Of course it doesn't, but pro-piracy people will use the lack of a demo on PC, a system where...shit just might not run if you don't have the magical hardware combination the devs tested on, as an excuse to pirate it.
Also... demos are by FAR a great means of advertising your product. Would id really be as big as they are now if they weren't so pro-shareware back in the day? I think not.
A lack of a demo typically means a company doesn't fully stand behind their product or they would commit the resources to slap together a one or two level demo showcasing why consumers should purchase their game. For a AAA game commanding a price usually only seen by Collector's Edition PC games the lack of a demo is inexcusable and highly suspect.
