I can agree with the "they shouldn't deceive the buyer" thing, it is ridiculous claiming to support something you don't.
As for all you "we have better computers" "sod the damn 4:3 people" "we are the future" bleh bleh bleh... get over it whiners. The standard has been 4:3 for many years, and currently it still is. Sure, that'll change pretty soon and thats all good and dandy, but if you want to get something that isn't the standard then get over the fact that not everyone supports your hardware. Your time will come younglings, it just isn't here yet.
Besides, calling widescreen superior is just retarded, it is like claiming that one format of photography is unilaterally superior to another. widescreen doesn't make the screen bigger or smaller, better or worse, it simply makes it wider / lower. for watching DVDs thats just dandy, for say... reading comics it is completely pointless, the height would be better.
