Working great here, though it took a good chunk out of my internet cap and took a few days to come down. Really enjoying it, looks and sounds phenomenal and seems to have a little more soul than the gearbox ones. GoW3's encounter design suffered from the compromises made to get 4 player co-op working on 2005 hardware, both non issues here.

Had some screen flicker after the most recent windows update, but fixed it with some combination of newer AMD drivers and making sure all my other game launch clients were off (Guessing it's overlays competing with the win10 record feature or some such).

M/KB is great, despite being a console legacy controls game. I miss the rumble, analoge movement and buttons of the controller but the head shot potential is worth the switch. In fact the PC settings put most PC exclusive games to shame. Running maxed out at 1440p almost as fast as doom on my Chernobyl of a 390x.

I feel for you TR! You took a concept about as far as it can be taken and it turns out that's not enough to get into world of tanks/lol/dota/CS level consumer participation. It's still a slick product but I have to admit, it's hogged up HD space not commensurate with it's playtime for me.

Either way you guys are the real deal and I hope you can keep all your key employees around long enough to ship the next new thing!

The rest of the game is a bit rougher than the awesome starts, but I too lost most waking hours to this since launch. I may have watched the sun come up last night which is something I haven't done gaming since the late 90's.

Fell into religion for various reasons in current game. Initial apostle spam was a bit boring but now I've worked it out it's kind of fun. I flipped my main religious rival, causing him to pump out twice as many apostles as I can afford due to his superior religion score and possible AI cheats that go around spreading my version of Scientology for me. Theological combat doesn't explain istself well and can be boring to watch when there is a lot of it but I got an apostle with +20 "debate" promotion combined with the Scythian "heal 50% on kill" perk who has gone full Jesus over two continents, flipping cities to our religion as enemies throw themselves at him. The greeks got some wonder that makes them immune to this strategy though which is awesome. A lot more asymmetry/unpredictability/overpowered abilities which helps make this feel as fresh as anything this series has done since release. A pity BE didn't take this many risks.

Loving it so far. Best out of box Civ/Firaxis experience ever. (Other than Civ 2 maybe).

A few quirks and bugs but content wise it's amazing as a vanilla release, all the important mechanics are there and much better integrated than they were in the Civ IV/V expansions. Cities actually take a bit of effort to plan out and specialise. They have taken a lot of queus from Endless Legend but communicated the systems a lot better.

Still in my first game at Prince with 7 other civs, Egypt is wrecking all of us and my continental rival matched my tech with numbers and high production in our first short war so I took the snivelling peace offering. Maybe I should have pressed my luck and taken a city to reduce the future threat but seemed too risky with most my units spending time being rotated for healing. I doubt I'll win but seems like it's going to be fun not winning, like in paradox games.

My one hope might be culture victory. Had Shakespeare pump out some plays and I think i'm the first to get aircraft and archaeology, so might be able to win on tourism before Cleopatra converts the world to Confucianism.

In a sense, we have full z axis way back with Decent and my/most mouse movements are/can be extremely sensitive. I'm not saying it would be exactly the same, but with the skilled developers in the world, it just seems probable it could be done. Hell, I bet there are people working on hacks. Even though I've never even looked into it, but maybe it doesn't really matter if the developer doesn't care enough to bother.

When done well it's a very unique and powerful experience. I can't justify a headset at the moment either but I've spent a few hours on the old oculus dev kits 1 and 2. Lunar Flight was just phenomenal, I've never been so convinced that I was on another planet before. Kind of ruined the game for me as I can't enjoy it in flatland anymore even though it supports and was originally designed for non-VR setups.

I actually think this is a good thing. If people are not exposed to the horrors of war, they might think it too easy and sweet a thing and make more of it.

SC 2 is a top 5 desert island game for me. The art, writing and gameplay were all super rock solid. The sense of adventure and nonlinearity unparalleled, a flippant Star Trek style adventure with a lot of lucasarts adventure game I n the puzzle design and conversation trees. I still have the printed out starmap with my scribbles and notes annotated on it from my first few runs through the game.

However I am not going to get excited about this. The MOO remake was better than MOO3 but this will have to do a lot more than be better than SC3 to be worthy of the name. Even SoaSE style production values won't be enough for this. Good luck devs I don't envy the task but hope for the best.

Pillaging and raiding is annoying but was THE way to execute warfare for most of our history, commanders rarely wanted to go all in on a battle they could lose on the throw of a dice. History just seems full of those battles because they make for cooler stories. Also forces you to secure your borders instead of holing up in your cities.

They're coming. The lineup from Oculus over the next year looks really good. I'm hoping they translate over to Vive. If there's one thing I hate dealing with, it's the fucking ear pieces on my Vive.

So yeah, I hope gen 2 solves these problems. And I hope Oculus version of Roomscale and touch blow things out of the water.

All props to you man, being a VR pioneer with both premier solutions (And possibly a few cheaper entry level ones).

You are doing gods work and we salute you. Simple peasants like myself are looking at PS VR as the right entrypoint despite having a decent PC due to price/benefit calculations.

Lunar Flight is still the best VR experience I've had, DK1 and DK2. So good!

Worth a buck but entirely optional. The meat and potatoes is in the main game. (Subjective opinion but I'm pretty confident this is the right attitude towards the external partner sponsored side show that is deadliest warrior).

I love this game but one of my old work colleagues in QA was pro-tier at it, would come at you doing 360 head swipes and backwards overhead attacks that would mess you up and kin dof took the fun out of it.

But at amateur level, slaughtering peasants with your friends while spamming the battlecry key and controlling characters based on the black knight scene from Monty Python's Holy Grail is unparalleled in the gaming world. Should really get back into this.

A lot of hate here, but I love this series. GOW2 was amazing, awesome pacing and variety in environments. 3 was a struggle in parts great in others and Judgement was more like Junkment but it does it's thing really well, horde is great and the VS modes are pretty fun (The capture the leader one is especially cool). I feel a little burnt on cover-shooters as well since the slog that was Uncharted 4, but I've always enjoyed them.

Easy to call it console shovelware but there are not many PC exclusives pushing the eye-candy or gameplay boundaries these days. Most favorites on these very boards are cross platform consolitis infected titles as it is.

I just wish they kept some of the strategy and squad mechanics from the first awesome two Brother in Arms games.

Oh man, Morrowind is REALLY good. The best one in my view. Oblivion was too watered down and hand-holdy, the best bits of Skyrim channel the mystery and alien wonderfulness of Morrowind. It's one of the few RPG's that actually justify your "The Chosen One" status narrative in a satisfying way as well. Also you could fly.

Even on the OG Xbox with the fog generated about 50 meters in front of you it was great. Also seemed less buggy than the preceding and following two games, definitely tighter than Oblivion. A lot of reading but I think the recent games lose a lot by trying to have so much voiced content.

Or do what I did and go buy the whole thing for a tenner off a dodgey keysite (went from payment to validating key and downloading in about 20 seconds). Then you can get the whole remaster automatically when it comes out.

Wouldn't normally encourage this as devs gotta eat, but vanilla Skyrim is borked on my new gaming rig with no known work arounds., Didn't want to pay full price for a game I already own most of and I feel like should probably have gotten win 10/144hz compatibility patches considering it's ubiquity and levels of profit.

Guess that sounds pretty entitled and you know what, in this situation I feel entitled.

Big hopes for this update. I used to believe this was the greatest piece of software in history, but the 1.0 and later releases have had some nasty issues which prevent me from recommending it without reservation. Console version Is very rough as well, lacking the optimisation, UI rework and polish of my other favourite EA turned console game Prison Architect which is a massive wasted opportunity, this thing should have been the next, smarter minecraft.

At least 5 of my 10 greatest gaming moments of all time happened in this game and I will definitely jump in once my (mostly cosmetic) mods update. Big love to all the previous devs and best of luck to the newcomers.

The Scott Adams blog almost had me convinced that maybe I was wrong about Drumpf, then I remembered some of history's other great "Persuaders" and where that took us.

Estate Tax sucks but hard to have too much sympathy for anyone with multiple millions of dollars when they die. Surely hard work and a solid upbringing is all your kids deserve when you have those political values? Maybe it's the only way they can get money off these people since they often pay so little when alive.

If this lawsuit sticks then there will be no marketing for games until a few months before release.

A lot of stuff gets cut real late, when you realise that a feature just can't be optimised or QA'd properly before release.

I'm pissed at NMS as well, though I believe everything they showed in the game was in it at some stage and possibly they even believed would ship. But time is a cruel mistress and you have to decide to ship late or cut, and they were already super late, maybe even running out of money. Those sandworms and dinosaurs seemed awesome in the trailers, but what can you do.

I usually wait to buy a new Civ until after the first expansion. I was very satisfied with Civ 5 + Gods & Kings, that I didn't even pick up the second expansion. I'll probably do the same with this one.

Brave New World was good, but the bolted on nature of the espionage/religion/trade mechanics made the game feel bloated, as opposed to the empty shallowness of the initial release. Hopefully by baking all those mechanics into the game at launch they wont feel so much like easy to forget busywork. They can still do expansions where they reworks the game in a fundamental way as they did in V, but it will be with more of an eye to making the game better instead of shoehorning mechanics and concepts that should have been at launch.

The series is still missing stuff. Remember the global warming and nuclear wasteland mechanics from 2? That is still probably my favorite civ, though none have ever been short of awesome except vanilla Civ V and that is not a universal opinion. They've earned the hype for a new one.
