Man I would be excited about this but Games for windows 2 really fucked me on the last update so I wont hold my breath that this willwork. I think I'll just order another XB1 controller and play it splitscreen on the 65" with the consoles where it's been for 4 years or so. Such fond memories of this game. Such a good Xbox lan platform with Gears 2 way back when. 4v4 CTF duels with the mobile sand crawler bases on sandstorm or whatever it was called was THE SHIT.

Are you guys joking? We know this in the EU since March - why you think full face masks are MANDATORY here?
There are two different things here. Spreading from droplets produced by coughing, sneezing or talking is one thing, actual "airborne" is different. The first is certainly happening and is very significantly reduced by wearing a mask. The second would come straight out of the air without the droplets, this is what the "report" or whatever you want to call it is claiming, which masking might reduce, but less effectively.

Is this a language barrier thing? Something that is airborne is something you can get from breathing. And this applies to this virus 100% and has been known since March. Small air droplets are called aerosols for a reason. They are airborne by nature, outside and in good ventilated areas they fall to the ground instantly and dry up, in bad climate (cold air, recirculation) you can get infected. This has happened and has been explored IN DETAIL in 5 different meat factories in Germany, in at least 6 known in France and at least 4 known in Austria, where the virus spread through the climate circulation cooling system in the factory. That is the literal definition of airborne in my book.

And again, we guessed this since March, that it could spread through climate systems was confirmed in June and fully confirmed after 1 infected infected over 1500 people in a factory with a recirculating cooling system. The virus spread over the cold air and infected *everyone* that is why this virus is so tame right now, when winter comes this will become a 2nd wave. Which is why I am keeping to these rules, mask and distance, no singing, shouting, no places with lots of people and more distance and outside whenever possible. Climate controlled environments are potentially safe, and potentially unsafe, depends on the climate systems. Obviously where you should not be right now is anywhere where it's around 6°C and 40-100% humid since this is apparently the environment where this virus is air transmittable, and not just via droplets.

I mean, did no one in your US science community listen to the podcast of Dr. Drosten? The person that literally wrote the science on corona virus (Sars 1 was discovered by him, and he is leading researcher along with his institute on this new virus, that it could spread via aersols and not just via droplets was a well reasoned theory in March and proof for it came in June)

Edit: I just realized, could it really be nothing of the research we did in Germany reached the US or WHO? Drosten said in his (many) podcasts that scientists could prove that it could spread via aerosols, although they used a much higher base rate of aerosols than breathing would cause. Later on when the Tönnes hotspot was investigated it was found the virus had become fully airborne in the factory, due to temperature (5-7°C) and high humidity. Unique situation? Hardly, the same situation happened in many other meat processing plants.

And maybe worse, here in Germany we call that climate situation "Winter"

I think you guys are saying the same thing. It's possible that the aerosoled narrative is suppressed due to the economic damage or the liability of those in the west that didn't act on it.

We had basically nixed it in cold, wet Victoria Australia so we chilled out, our tourism has never been busier (Since rich idiots can't travel to greece at the moment). It's primarily hitting more working class/poor suburbs and people in high density housing that do all the crappy jobs that people expect you to do even in a pandemic like sanituation, security, baggage handling, cafes etc. It's back now and going buck wild. Maybe it dosn't kill as many people as we feared but not interested in spending three months tubed up in hospital before dieing or watching my parents being triaged out of the treatment program due to age or some shit if it gets bad enough.

Well, games comprised of the efforts of large teams. Avellone's contribution was fairly minor, IMO. The genius of that game lies with the gameplay designed by Ma and Davis. Baby/bathwater.

Of course, but the connection I feel to the characters in that all time top 5 game for me probably has a lot to do with Chris. They are not whole creations of his though, pretty sure I saw/read in interview that it was a collaborative effort.

And really it's how the minimal narrative links and works with the gameplay that makes it all work. I'm sure another contractor could have approximated it. Still, it makes me sad. Sad in a way I shouldn't be because I didn't get encouraged to get drunk and felt up by some creepy nerd which is the bigger problem here.

Read the article my good friend, making the Xenomorph less "unfair" is one the things it does.

I imagine though, that the second you make AI in any game even somewhat competent your ability to murder a thousand enemies/survive unbalanced horror scenarios becomes somewhat impotent.

Man, all my favorites are creeps. I'm sure lots of us have had akward moments with people we regret but this dosn't sound like that. Sure looks like a pattern of behaviour that would be intolerable to an employer, let alone the victims. Maybe it's not Bill Crosby levels but we are all somehwere on that spectrum of shittiness, interesting to see where it become defensible for some people.

My dream of building the ultimate Into the Breach fan site will probably have to stay up in my brain for now.

Such great games. I have hopes but not firm ones. Skate 1-3 were special, made by absolute skate fantatic units at Black Box. It's not something you can just palm off on any old dev, hopefully whoever made the pitch has the balls and physics coding skills of Cuz and crew.

Huh? We've barely seen anything of KSP2. What's wrong with it?

Big bruhahaha, dev refused buyout from take 2, had their contract canceled and 1/3rd of their staff poached to continue project in house. Big delay.

I mean, everything might turn out great but I can't remember any similar stories ending well. I quite liked the early Star Theory pitch, though the game was a long way from the target render trailer they showed when I last saw any of it.

I hope I'm wrong, I couldn't have been more excited for a game to come out. People are all like "Just mod kerbal 1" but it's the engine improvements and multiplayer I really want.

Unexplored is so good... best in class for real time roguey dungeon shit. This looks like a massive step up in production values if the ambition is still there I am in. Though the shitshow that is the switch port pisses me off so bad. It should be a forever game like Into the Breach on that platform but it's fucked and not even worth the 3 bucks it sometimes goes for.

Still, after the Kerbal 2 kerfuffle I don't think I will ever love again... it took me 20 years to get over Master of Orion 3 and of course I had to get hyped for another cursed game before release. Back to hating everything until I see it in action and can buy it.

Oh man Sea of Theives is such a singular, amazing thing. Sounds like it's doing all right but I think it's always been brilliant and hope more people discover it.

The lack of real progression (ie:better gear) is fine by me, a filthy casual. This is some pure skill shit going on, and makes it family friendly in a way a brutal PvP nightmare world should not be. Love it.

Nothing beats sailing with friends and family, but it's a singularly magnificent beast solo as well. Yes you probably have no chance when that full crew tries to chase you down, but the pants shitting tension of seeing sails on the horizon is beyond anything I've ever felt, and sometimes, maybe, you can be such a pain in the arse they give up and it feels GOOD.

Best couch co-op ever. My 8 (Now 10) year old refuses to progress to the next level without a 3 star rating. Makes me so proud.

The sequel looks and runs even better. Waiting for a good deal on all the DLC on a platform I have enough controllers for. Such a good game.

Lol at you dudes saying this is racist. Whatever the reasons, the outcomes are worse for some people and groups and goverments and very rarely corporations try and address that.

Equality of opportunity is a wonderful ideology except it dosn't actually work that well for most people. And it's not like we don't already have targeted scholarships and funds that futily attempt to plug walls in the leaky dam that is our so called civilzations.

Like of all the things to get pissed about. Dudes are getting merced by the police or harrassed because they fall on the wrong end of the family guy colour chart. Sort that shit out and then maybe we can have a wah-wah about a fund for black devs.

Cool, cool cool cool. I've been wavering on giving in and buying this on EGS for awhile now, I'll probably still wait until the release version hits GOG or Steam though.

It's not on EGS and it's already on Steam and GOG. Did you get it mixed up with another game, like Satisfactory?

Ah yes, I did exactly that.

To be fair both games interest me, and I got Factorio months ago on Steam, but have only played it a little; I was waiting for the final release.

Substitute Satisfactory in my original post.

Honestly Factorio hasn't changed that much in the last few years. Wube have been stuck on that hardest part of game dev, the last 10% of polish. I would consider it 1.0 as is and has been for a year or two at least, though the new icons are very pretty and the GUI could use some makeup.

Fortunately, it's been more stable and bug free than any released game I have have played for more than 4 years. Especially once they got the MP smooth. Game browser still sucks but that's my only gripe, playing with friends is still a blast. Vanilla is still amazing. Mod potential is insane. It's like kerbal without the performance issues (Or physics so I'm not ragging on kerbal here).

Don't care about losing the campaign, it never seemed that promising. Ideally if it was an MP style version of Supcom with the expanding map it would have been amazing but not worth not playing over. Every map and settings setup is a whole new adventure.

I love the chill factor in Railworlds personally, and setting up the signals for complex multi-train rail networks is my favorite thing about the game. Though in MP you want nasty ass Biters to expand and threaten you to keep you all on your toes.

Wait that's my second complaint. The game setup is super flexible, scenarios effectively infinite but can be hard to understand what kind of game you are going to get. Some more presets tuned for fun would be good!

As for Satisfactory it's a different kind of thing, and nowhere near version 1.0 as far as I can tell so probably safe to wait on it. A bit of a Hybrid between factorio and Subnautica. At first it seems way more shallow than Factorio but the 3d, vertical factories actually look more insane than anything in Factorio but it takes me forever just to get a crappy setup going, I think I will also wait till later to get into it, though it's still worth the money. Maybe if I can find someone to MP with it would feel more satisfying.

Mostly digging these releases but why the loading screens. really ruins the flow. Bungie Halos only loaded on game start and hid the other loads in cinematics, it kills the flow, especially in Halo 2.

It was always good! But I'm guessing the answer for people who want something this isn't and will never be the answer is no. There is a lot more stuff in it now, and a PvP mode! But it's always ran and played really well. I'm not actually a huge fan of the feature bloat, I think it's strength was in simple mechanics layering over each other in such a way that kept any fiddliness out of the way that made multi-crew multi-boat combat awesome but there are slightly more interesting quests and things to get up to you as context for those awesome moments now.

There is still nothing like it, it's been over two years and the supposedly superior co-optional sailing sandboxes are wallowing in low quality ignomity or development hell.

Did you give it a go? It's my favorite plane to fly, the wing sweep stuff make me feel like I'm in macross it's awesome. I've gotten my money out of it just playing carrier traps (1/2 the time I catch a wire and probably deserve a court marshal, 1/2 the time I bolter or crash into the boat).

But unless you know someone who wants to dedicate their life to being Goose I find it is a bit of a pain in combat. The AI RIO "Jester" is decent but you appreciate how important that role is, probably more so than the pilot - the workload is definitely much harder in most parts of the flight. But again it's a joy to fly I love it.

Gotta relearn F-18 now and try out this new supercarrier. Exciting!

Gutted. But if they get MP working so I can play it like I play DCS in MP and it works well in multicrew, with time compression and in the editor it will be worth it. (Not sure if that is what they are going for but it needs to be good, like DCS the new player experience is helped immensly by having someone who knows what they are doing in the game with you.)

Not too fussed about most the non-MP features, the OG game progression and the game itself is still fun for me even in vanilla and mods are there when you want to get crazy though performance and graphics improvements are always welcome.
