I love this game but the way it subtly and not so subtly nags at you to spend money drove me away.

I was always at the mercy of players who could fire premium rounds at me (Although it felt grate when you bounced someone's gold round off your KV1 12 times a game!), and while the premium tanks were not better than the free/grind ones they were much cheaper to run, allowing the drivers to be more aggressive.

After level 6 if you didn't buy premium time, it became quite an effort to progress. Around the level 8 tanks (Which I loved) they became almost impossible to keep repaired without premium time unless you were way better at the game than I ever was.

Yep, in case anyone is confused "Evil communist nation with 'red tape' and 'regulations' crippling their businesses and making their population lazy and drunk, forced a large multinational to adopt a disgusting, invasive 'consumer friendly refund pllicy' throughout the world." Thanks Australia!

That said, I wonder how the refund policy affects developers making small, sub 2-hour games. Are they putting in padding where none was needed or adding unnecessary features (Broken online multiplayer in twitch-based local games was a thing for a while) in order to circumvent it? Or do they just charge a low enough amount that people can't be bothered to request the refund?

Every Advance Wars clone ever has let me down, just like every MOO clone until Stellaris. I wont get my hopes up. But this does look nice!

Would much prefer on Switch or Phone though.

Ok how about 100 star wars ships spawn in a galaxy and... no.

Tie Fighter in HD/Elite dangerous quality graphics should be fine. Add co-op and I'd pay 60 bucks for it.

The new map and update are really running way better than before.
My roommate and I have nearly 20 fps increase and things just feel smoother in general.
Vaulting is a huge game change too.

Fired it up this AM - started a game, intentionally did not play BETA so I could play the new map with the update.

Join a game, gets stuck at title screen, but I can hear people talking and the plane in the background. ALT-F4, went and got something to eat. Came back, figured I would try it again as I read they were having lots of issues with the 1.0 servers.

Get to title screen, says game is still in progress!? hahaha figured my AFK ass would be dead instantly. I load up the game, I am near the southern coast all by myself. I run and find some ok loot right away. 25 left! I run my tail off, stay on the blue line, find some houses that have not been looted, weird. End up getting a few kills along the way and get 2nd level gear.

Do the belly crawl near last few circles since I don't have a sight, just a couple ACOGs. Grabbed a silenced ump off some dude I killed.

Ended up with 3 kills and 2nd place. Circle favored the other guy, he had a rock. gg. This is why the game is awesome.

It isn't a twitch game. You can be tactical.

Yep! Game is great in spite of it's issues. On twitch I watch Notthatwillsmith because like me he is a terrible shot/twitch gamer, who misses pickups on the ground because he is probably legally blind, but has an awesome winrate with his buddies because he makes good tactical decisions. And because there is no crafting/building, tactical decisions is all you make. (Basic stuff from Arma like how to use terrain will keep you alive a lot of the time).

It's the same as the Arma experience, 20 minutes of looting/walking with a chance of a surprise violent end except much less of a pain to set up and replay.

There was a problem with the leaderboards, so I got to rank 29 last night in OCE duo due to the actual good people not having their shit recorded for a few hours. I'll enjoy that and the sick new replay feature showing how awesome/lucky we were while I settle back down to my natural spot a few tens of thousands positions lower...

Game is much better optimised now. Had a few games without lag at the start, and a few with that still wasn't as bad as the test server lag. I'm sure they will work it out eventually.

Meh, sometimes douchebags (debatable, since he kind of has a bit of a leg to stand on but I don't know what he thought would happen when they sold a million copies in the first 2 weeks or whatever) make the best stuff! PUBG is some of the best stuff. Love it. I suck... got a duo win on the new map but I died right at the end like Tom Hanks in that movie where he died right at the end.

Err, without looking into it, I am willing to bet the reason London is no longer the center of world trade and finance has little to nothing to do with World War I expenditures. However, I'd be willing to entertain the possibility of being wrong if you can point to something indicating otherwise...

Ok maybe it's an assumption from someone who never studied history, but it was the hub of all those things before the war, and was not after. They bankrolled a lot of their allies and the ungodly amount of loans they had to take out from the US to keep that insane, mult-million man army going for years drained the wealth of their Victorian golden age like nothing else.

I mean, maybe they were on the way out anyway but it sure didn't help!

It would be almost irresponsible for any military NOT to have multiple pre-planted cable cutting devices, ready to be triggered, on every one of these links. Same goes for those cable sniffing devices. Maybe you can make a two in one thing. And some obvious designed to be found ones to help your rivals get complacent.

If you don't have everything tapped, then your intelligence service is a B grade waste of money at best.

As for England, it's a third rate power with 2nd rate power ambitions and 1st rate power memories. Might have to give up on aircraft carriers and nuclear subs lads. London could still be the center of world trade and finance if they didn't blow it all on the WW.

Why would he be punished? He is making money for people who already have lots of money. I'm sure his new mates will look after him and he will be sure to make even more money in next CEO/Consulting/lobbying job. Even if NN gets enshrined in law, like Trump's tax cuts for the uber-wealthy, a few years of free for all will make them billions/trillions which can then be leveraged in future lobbying.

Man, my daughter and I love the show but the games have been bad. 1990's South Park game level bad. The setting, being partially inspired by videogames, should be a perfect fit for a half competent developer in almost any genre but that hasn't happened yet. Not holding my breath.

The Minecraft DLC on consoles is the only digital Adventure Time purchase I can get behind or recommend, and even that is undercooked.

Good for a lark! I think I only played through the campaign once, though the DLC normandy campaign design is better than the launch one, though it's Russian infuriating narrative is awesome. I find it hard to go back to COH, COH2 has some quality of life stuff that is real nice.

But I will forever be disappointed that they rested on their laurels and gave us more of the same instead of pushing the anachronistic, tepid genre forward like they did with that first game, where they pretty much rebuilt the genre from scratch.

Hopefully the third game, if it happens, will get us to the next level. Something on the scale and detail of MOWAS2 of even TA but with Relic polish and UI would be amazing. Did not like DOW3. Too much going on with too few tools to deal with it.

Looks like it's old, broken version (Though apparently pretty decent with mods) is no longer on sale, but it was 50 bucks last time I looked! So at the very least this is a better value proposition! Wonder what kind of weird publisher nonsense got in the way of this being broken and unsupported for so long?

Waiting for my Dad to get back to me on what he thinks of this (He got it for free since he owned the OG), he spent dozens of hours working out how to get the Spitfire going in DCS so he's the closest person I know to being a Flightsim grognard, if he approves I will definitely get this. Many happy memories of family lans spent in the skies over the eastern front in IL2.

These kinds of games used to come with a 300 page manual with a binder. I need to get a second screen or a printer for the checklists I think. And also play with the lights on so I cna see the keyboard, as the old Sidewinder Pro only has 9 buttons, twist, throttle and a coolie.

They've already said that the Sci-Fi shooter arena is too congested for them to make BF2143, even though I would really like to have that game over the endless Titanfall games and half-assed attempts at making a "Star Wars not battlefield game".

BFBC3 makes the most sense, even the vietnam/cold war era as they can hit a those "diversity" notes without treading into historical controversy people like to drum up. Black people in my WWI game?

You could easily microtransaction cosmetics in vietnam/cold war era type game as well.

I would have liked the series to have picked up where BFBC2 left off, the Russians invading the US and playing out a Red Dawn type scenario in US maps.

Eveyrhting you say makes sense other than the black people in WW1 quip. Though BF1 is far from accurate in how it potrays non-whites (And almost every other aspect of the war) in it's various theaters, it was a world war involving two of the greatest colonial powers of the time who were more than happy to conscript soldiers from their foreign possessions. Hundreds of thousands of 'colored' people from Africa and Asia fought on the western front and served support roles. That you think that it's forced diversity says more about the kind of media produced about the conflict and your lack of education than it does about the imaginary SJW crusade, which if it exists has reasonable grounds to try and correct the record.

France alone conscripted almost half a million African troops for the western front, a big part of the reason why Germany with it's superior population and birthrate compared to the allied forces lost.

The failure of the Triple Entente to reward it's possessions with some autonomy after their people bled on a continent not their own and where they were not seen as full 'humans' played a big role in the dismantling of those colonial empires.

No fucks given at all. Just like I couldn't give a single fuck if they made the person 89lbs or 430lbs and did more rolling then walking to get around. You're kinda missing the point though. That is, you have a group of people complaining because something is offending their sensibilities. They're no different then a religious nut screeching that D&D and Harry Potter are satanic.

The women I understand. The views I've seen show they think it's kinda gross or don't care, which means it is probably worth changing. Maybe some girls want some camel toe? I haven't heard from any yet.
"gross" jesus it's like I'm in grade 5 and it's the 1980's all over again. It bothers me more that people are "outraged" over camel toe, rather then letting the studio and artists make the game however they want with whatever models they want. Remember the outrage over D:OS and boobplate? Bet you don't, but it was the same complete whining by exactly the same types of people. But hey, don't worry that some whiny puritan is getting upset and they want shit censored because it hurts their feelings or they have some massive desire to virtue signal over it while fedora tipping.

Here's a question for you: Do you think FFVII with it's entire crossdressing + scenes in the Honey Bee Inn would be made today? Or do you think that the socjus people would be screeching that it's homophobic/sexist/misogynist and demanding that it be removed. Keep in mind the absolute stupid garbage that's gone on at localization studios the last 3 years as well. Or that Tifa would exist as she does? You go read that petulant whining over xenoblade?

eRe4s3r wrote on Dec 12, 2017, 01:59:

oh wait... nevermind
Yeah well don't worry. I'm sure that getting a mesh changed because camel toe was more pressing then getting involved with an anti-slavery group, and trying to stop what's going on in africa.

You know what, I get it. I see what you are scared of, I don't want the outrage brigade or the religious right or some mullah/bishop/CSM bigwig forcing their banal conformity on artists like they have tried and failed to do in the past either.

I just don't feel it yet or see it here. I don't see how somebody finding something in a game gross and letting the developer know on twitter is censorship. If the developer/artist really cared enough about it they could have stood up to these complaints and backed their vision (As I'm sure all those hentai anime games do), but it turns out they didn't care. Because detailed flangery was never a part of their vision.

I love all the Lucasarts titles, except Loom which I never really got into (I should try again, that guy in the tavern really seems to like it).

But Grim is the best. Best puzzles, characters, dialogue, music, story and it's loooooong. Hits me right in the feels every time like that dog getting old in Futurama.

So thank you GOG, I will own it on a 5th platform!

How is "having camel toe in an action game is stupid" censorship? You have the worst priorities of any living man. Which, frankly, makes sense, I've seen you defend Trump around these parts.
Look! Someone decided that they wanted to go into pre-1970's sexual revolution mode. Looks like Beamer is happy regressive who finds sexuality disgusting. So, let me guess the only way you find women pretty is when they're wearing 4 lengths of black cloth, gloves, and showing no ankle right? It makes sense, considering all the other much progressive stuff you push.

Really, tell everyone who's worse: The person who wants developers not to change something because of a harping mob. Or the person clapping their hands with glee in apparent support of it.

edit: here's an article just for you beamer So you can also jump on the pro-censorship train, and complain about those sexualized anime titties.

9. Re: GTFO Announced Dec 9, 2017, 17:49 Numinar

I don't mean to white night somebody's wrong headed business decisions but did you ever play Payday 2? It's a great game. The DLC was always optional, and you could play on the fancy DLC heists if you saw one being hosted by someone else. If they cut half of the heists before release it's probably because the effort to polish them would have taken a year, the scenarios have a lot of variables and alternate configurations. I don't think anyone has ever cut fully developed content from a game, it will usually be stuff that is too complicated/unfinished/undercooked for release unless it's Day 1 DLC, which for most devs is something easy and small, like a few weapons or alternate skins or a shitty quest chain with no relevance to the rest of the game.

I didn't buy DLC for a few years, and then got ALL of it in a recent sale for basically nothing as a friend wanted to play again. Totally worth it, and I'll keep an eye on this game as it's an awesome, not quite saturated genre. Vermintide and Paradox games follow a similar model and if that's the price a fan has to pay for a game he is still playing 5 years after release then that seems reasonable, it's a fraction of what a subscription would cost.

Though I am certain this is not what they did, if the game is released with half the content sequestered for later sale, and is still wildly successful because the stuff it does have is fun and replayable, then big whoop regardless.
