You know why I still use an 8800GTX? Because there isn't a fucking game available that needs anything more powerful.

Ditto here, I have been saving up for a new PC and as soon as the news hit about MW2, Flashpoint 2 and AVP not having dedi servers, I went out and spent the cash on a new HD TV instead. Reading about Rage has only reinforced the fact that I made the right decision.

Well I don't care what they say or don't say at this point, my pre-order is cancelled and I won't be picking this game up unless they add dedi server support.

I thought about waiting a while and grabbing it out of the bargain bin for the SP but screw them, they don't get my money.

piles of dead bodies lying about the environment

I was just wondering, do the Aussie laws apply to free DLC added later to a game that has already been passed?

I played through the Crash Course DLC earlier today and noticed that there were piles of bodies dotted around the map as well as a badly mutilated corpse about halfway through the second chapter. Surely Crash Course wouldn't have passed the censors in Aus if it had to be submitted before release.

It got me wondering, could Valve offer an optional free Gore update DLC to Aussies as a way around the censoship?

I wonder if they will make a series of movies but make every other one a pile of crap, just like the games.

It worked for the Star Trek movies.

Supermarkets don't force everyone to line up at one checkout and leave others empty either, I think Valve should take a look at their load balancing.

If anyone has problems getting the update, try changing your download country in the Steam settings, I'm in the UK and it wouldn't even start to download for me but I switched around a few times to different countries and it's updating now, albeit very slowly from Cambodia.

What i don't understand ... the GH and Rockband games require an additional controller. So, why not say to the console gamer: Look, if you want to play this on your PS3, just spend a little more, because we got you this nice little USB keyboard and mouse.

The PS3 already supports bluetooth keyboards, the only reason I don't have one for mine is that none of the games I own support one. I would be more than happy to buy one if devs added support for them, as would a lot of other people.

Instead of getting a PS3, why don't you just upgrade your PC?

I do both, so I get a great media centre under my TV that I can also use as an alternative platform to play some games on plus I have an option to avoid certain crap like GFWL on games like Batman, which plays just as well on either platform.

Indeed, but fortunatley the lenslok became absent from the spectrum version (my flavour of choice).

I had the Spectrum version too and mine came with a lenslok, I still have it to this day. Maybe they dropped it after the initial release because somebody's eye exploded or something while trying to use it.

Now I think about it I might just sell my copy of Elite second hand on ebay, just to annoy Braben.

looking at the pre-order prices of MW2 it would seem that although the RRP is listed at £34.99 in the UK (slightly under $59.99) the pre-order prices see to be about average for any other AAA title, I have it pre-ordered for £29.99 with free shipping (about $49.50) and I could have done that from three different places. I even saw it for £23.99 from a previously unknown supplier. It would seem that even though the publishers may want to sell the PC version for a higher price, many online retailers are selling it for something closer to the usual price point, at least in the UK they are.

Seeing as I already live in a non nipple averse country and I'm already updated to the previous patch, is there any need for me to apply this latest update?

I used to have the same problem with V2 models of the BT Homehub router too, it didn't just disconnect the game, the whole damn router would restart. I fixed it by ditching the router but I see from the Steam forums that others were having similar issues.

So, where the fuck is the PS3 DLC that was supposed to be out in June? Don't they want my money?

Seems like they can whatever the fuck the wanna do with us because they know we will just eat it and stfu.

Who's this "we" you speak of, I certainly wont be buying the game at that price, even if it means waiting 6 months for it to drop and missing out on playing it with the rest of my current COD4 clan.

Both great games but I don't understand the pairing.

Reminds me of that Simpson's episode, Nuts and Gum- Together at last.

It would be a nice gesture if they offered this demo to everyone who bought L4D, or even just offer it to everyone. A demo is just a glorified advert for a game after all, why restrict who can have it?

If I do decide to buy L4D2, I wont be pre-ordering it over Steam, I made that mistake with L4D and ended up paying way over the odds for it when I could have picked up the retail box from Amazon for 2/3 of the price. New releases are just way too expensive over Steam compared to retail prices. If I want it I'll most probably wait for the inevitable price cut a couple of weeks down the line, I'm a grown up so I don't get that rabid "must have my new game at 00:01 on release day" feeling anymore.
