The dramatic irony of this statement. Ubisoft claiming each experience will "feel" unique in XDefiant... while the game looks the same as all the competitors. Can anyone point out a single original idea in that teaser footage that helps XDefiant standout in the increasingly congested market of competitive F2P crossplay shooters?

It's true, it would be impossible for me to look at screenshots or clips of this and tell it apart from Warzone, Apex, or The Division.

Also, fucking what does this have to do with Tom Clancy anything? Which book did I miss where randos go full gang-wars inside a city with energy shields and invisibility cloaks? How did Ubisoft manage to make the Far Cry and Assassins' Creed series more realistic and grounded than anything Tom Clancy?

Game dev is probably one of the industries least affected by the pandemic... from my own experience general productivity has only gone up, with the only real hit being publisher/outsourced console QA due to not trusting test kits to people on temp contracts.

They should just fess up and admit that BG3 is a large and more complex game and they sold people on an early release for the hype and Stadia cash...

Then again my memory is shit, I'd be willing to bet 12 years ago every other comment section was people bitching about a game being release on Steam instead of good old Wal*Mart or Gamestop.

Alas, we live in an age where you can't say something in "defence" of anyone or anything without some twerp accusing you of being a shill, simp, plant, stan, fanboy, etc. for one side or another.

Practically every gamedev studio has people creating bug montages, usually as a rolling thing in QA, and every so often as something pushed by production when near big milestones. It's a fun way for the team to laugh at themselves and remark on how much has changed over time.

I get that CDPR is in the hot seat for a shitty release, but making the existence of a bug reel out to be scummy or sordid or even news at all is like being shocked that professional artists and animators draw silly or NSFW art of their characters or that serious actors and directors curse or make jokes in gag reels (what, you mean they didn't do it all in one take? What was that oscar for then, anyway?!)

Well, uh, ok then...

Guessing this was a bit of a hail-mary from the brainstorming session for "how do we get players back?". Supposing it has some depth it could be interesting to play with, open world city zombies and all, but Legion didn't exactly have the best action/shooter controls for this sort of thing to start with...
