There was most likely a feature and content lock over a month ago, with some people moving to polish and bug fix, and others working on DLC and extra content that likely started development before the lock, but was planned way ahead of time to be post-release content.
It's how a fair chunk of money is made, and how you avoid ramping down staff after they're done with their work; keep content producers working after the game is "done" and release content for players to buy while the game is still installed an in their "Recently Played" list.

A fairly significant amount of people care about Halo, and specifically about playing Halo on PC. It's one of those things that exist in great numbers but gets little attention, like people that play farming simulators or NBA games.

In most games, if you're in a team of some kind with a player that does very well, you benefit from them making the game easier; be it better loot and XP, or in these silly new times of ranks and competition is every FPS, match-making ranking.
Basically, if you're on the same team as the guy that's winning the match via cheating, your ranking stats are most likely counting the win as you being "good", even if you did nothing.

No mention in the article about her turning an innocent and polite comment into a sexist attack, about the commenter being a public figure in the community promoting the game, or about her publicly celebrating the death of a games journalist that wasn't part of the ingroup.

A doctor shouldn't have the same take home pay as a burger flipper. Nor should a doctor be punished for being an achiever. Why should a Doctor that pays out the rear for malpractice insurance, went to school for 12 years, and saves lives be severely punished making over 250k? Any professional occupation for that matter. One educates themselves and strives to get the experience necessary for a good income then get it taken away? Why?
They do get that taken away, though, thanks to student debt. Unless they were born to rich parents, of course.
Under the horrifying curse of a slightly more socialist system, their studies would be paid by the state assuming they had good enough grades, and then they could go directly into making plenty of money without spending the next 20-30 years paying off debt.

Your scale is very poorly calibrated. By EU standards, Bernie is centre-right, and California is by no means "far left"; even Poland in its current state is further left.

Kinda, but I also remember those days as being full of physical games loaded with the same sort of mechanics; bones, M:TG (and the like), pog caps, etc.
Trying to milk extra money through a game's meta has been a thing since before dice were invented; it's only taken this long to affect videogames this much because of the hassle of online transactions, but Paypal, Steam, Amazon Payments, etc. have made that a one-click operations now.

The lesson is don't commit so hard to the latest fad. Maybe Radical Heights will pan out, maybe it won't; but the cost of figuring that out won't be as high, and they have leeway to respond to feedback and change the game fairly heavily without lost investment.

Props to Techland for keeping the rights; lots of studios work for years on IPs they created that end up owned by publishers that are, well, publishers.

Completely disagree on this. Because now, when people want to write damaging reviews that are actually written well, but contain bad information, there's no way to actually combat that by having people respond to the review. (and the reverse is also true)
I thought you could up/downvote reviews already? Anyways, who the christ is going to read the reviews of a review to "get to the truth", but not check other reviews of the game for a bigger sample size? Who even has the time to read comments on steam user reviews?
