Ok this made me LOL!

I don't even know what he posted but *SUPER MEGA REMOVED* is just hilarious.

So we have another one coming out which is now starting to gain momentum.. get your popcorn.
On a scale of "oof" to "yikes", it was a solid "how do I block people on this site?".

Also the air popper came. I need to build some makeshift guard because popped corn keeps bouncing out of the bowl and into the nether lands after being forcefully ejected from the Vortex of Hell.

Maybe? If you like FPSs where screwing can cost you a reload 10 minutes down the line and you inch your way through most encounters, it's fun. Also pretty atmospheric, so playing slow isn't that annoying because it's at least pretty.

It's as far removed from something like Rage 2 as possible while still technically being in the same genre and dealing with a post-apocalypse.

The story does continue through the three games, so starting at Exodus would be pretty confusing.

People that preordered on Steam got the game on Steam, so the forums for it exist. I got it through MS instead.

I also played through the thing and never had issues with the flashlight (I think the only real bug I had was a freeze after alt-tabbing during a loading screen). Just because a lot of people report a bug doesn't mean every person must have had it; more likely it's in the single digit percentage of total users, if that.

A developer who can think beyond the money bags?

Massive, MASSIVE kudos to him.
Sure, he thought past the exclusivity money and into the money he'd get from the positive PR of this announcement =p

I mean, a whole lot of sites will be carrying this bit of news for a game most people won't have ever heard of otherwise, and the Steam reviews will inflate with posts that just deal about Epic (can already see that happening now).

Since two months ago, it's part of PC Games Pass; you can play it for ~$12 and cancel before the 30 days are up. It's fairly short, even if you're a completionist.

Spec work is fairly common... it's basically like doing an interview, asking for an artist to produce a portfolio, or a programmer to do a code test.

That's assuming Ubi's asking for 30 second samples or mood documents or the like, not original full 3.5 minute pieces they magically own the license for on submission.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification. Anyway, if software companies can engage in regional pricing than consumers should be allowed to play those reindeer games as well. Don't tell me you're selling a game for 50% less in Timbuktu and I can't buy a key from them.
Regional pricing exists because publishers are aware that wages in certain regions are far lower than in others, so to get any sales at all they lower the price to a point people in the region deem acceptable for the entertainment/money ratio. In the end, they try to go by "x hours of work = game"

People outside that region, despite earning ten or more times more money for doing less actual work, jumping virtual fences in order to pay less, is kind of a spit in the face to the people in those regions who will be the ultimate victims when publishers decide to just pull out. Because in the end, you're saying "55 hours of work for a Moroccan equals a game, but since I can pretend to be a Moroccan, 2 hours of work for me equals a game for me".

Obviously you, and a vast majority of consumers, don't care about these things. You care about getting what you want for the least amount of money/work possible, and screw whoever worked on the product or who's affect by your market adulterating actions. And so the wheel turns.

And of course, the same people that will complain about regional pricing and will abuse it are the same people that will complain that EGS doesn't have full regional pricing.

Thanks for putting the effort into stating you don't like a thing. Do you often go into news articles about things you don't care about to let everyone know you don't care about them

It'll be fun in coop, but the price better be right.

Although will I have time if I'll be playing the new Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which is a much more deep and grand experience in every way? Probably not.

Reach is one of 4 or 5 (6?) games in the Master Chief Collection, which I assume will be $60.

Reach alone will be $10.

Anyway, I liked these games, they're straight forward fun. The rancid "PC elitism" was funny as a meme 10 years ago, sort of lame when it's taken seriously still today.

We've already seen one Steam change: increased revenue sharing by sales numbers. That change doesn't happen without EGS. As EGS improves and gains market share, we'll see further changes. The exclusive thing won't last forever, but will get EGS strong enough so they can compete.

So as a consumer, how are you benefiting from this?
As a consumer, you get game companies able to reinvest more money into more and/or better games.

Now queue the cynic that's quick to state that the increased revenue will exclusively go to CEO bonuses.
