Huge number of reviews for a game series that just doesn't capture my interests. Running around murdering people for cash? The idea has never appealed...;)
The targets are always absolute bellends, all of them terrorists, heads of organized crime, or illuminati-types orchestrating global catastrophes.

In any case, the appeal lies much less in the story/setting than in it being a stealth game in a detail-rich sandbox with dozens of avenues for completing dozens of objectives, and except for a few exceptions, no auto-fails if your meticulous plan goes tits up.

I'm not sure why everyone is so hooked onto the idea that this will be The Division: Star Wars, when studios are perfectly able to develop games of different genres. Heck, the guys that made Forza 4 are making the next Fable game, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to involve much racing...

Yeah, the walking around doing some exploring and scavenging with some almost casual moping up of zombies and the occasional special were the best parts of L4D/2 for me. The gameplay was good and you still had the opportunity to just chat over voice. The crescendo moments with hordes and tanks were cool, but they felt more like chores to progress than why I played the game.

If anyone has recommendations for coop action / shooter games that don't drown you in action (and stress) or need 3 hours of walking around (Arma...), I'd love to hear them. So far the best now for that seems to be Deep Rock Galactic.

At this rate we won't see reasonably priced GPUs until 2022-23.

Bitcoin difficulty has gone beyond GPU mining, even rooms full of them, being worthwhile. It's altcoins like ETH that are eating up GPUs these days.

End of the the only title that has made them decent money, sure. Pure marketing hokum if I ever saw it.

Look for "Hitman: Reborn" in 2022.
They're not ending the IP, they're ending the current trilogy / story. That aside, they're making a James Bond game now, so that may give them a nice influx of cash and deals for other projects further on.

If the list is by revenue and/or takes DLC/MTX into account, then huge props to the Raft and Phasmophobia guys.

Same reason CS or WoW would always rack up sales: dingbats cheat/go full asshole in chat, get their account/key banned, create a new account and buy the game again, and repeat.

That nonsense is a rounding error next to microtransactions, which are included in these revenue-based rankings.

Is this list best-selling, ie. units sold, or revenue, ie. money made? I'd expect the lists to be separated.

I thought The Expanse had an ending, since it came from a series of novels.

The Expanse (novels) will have an ending, after the ninth and final novel is published.

The show... I don't see it lasting 9 seasons honestly. It's pretty good, very good really, compared to a lot of TV, but I don't see how they get through the next couple of novels' worth of material with a regular budget. I mean, I guess it's doable, but if they stay true to the source material it'll be some serious CGI and a LOT more characters.

Season 6 is already confirmed to be the last, so yeah. Hopefully they don't pull a GoT and just rush through some poorly developed mess...

At this point, honestly I think Trump is just a pathetic little man born with a golden spoon that never had anyone tell him "no" because of his daddy's money, and later because he acted as big as his ego and only allowed weak-willed sycophants and self-interested yes-men leaches anywhere near him.

I don't think him bowing down to Putin is because they're in cahoots, but because he's terrified of actual "strongmen" humiliating his frail ego so he avoids as much confrontation as possible and just pretends to be friends with every bully out there.

If you like anything EA, EA pass for PC is also going to be included in XGP starting tomorrow.
Unless it's different for PC, EA's thing only has a few dozen full games that are 2+ years old, with newer stuff being timed demos.

I guess the biggest draw may be Sims 4, if it includes every expansion and piece of DLC, as that alone is probably a couple thousand bucks otherwise...

I've seen epilepsy seizure warnings in various computer games for the last twenty years, at least. Anyone who is an epileptic knows he's an epileptic long before he sits down with his first computer game, imo. It makes no sense at all to believe that CDPR deliberately put in a seizure-causing presentation--that's a ridiculous idea. For what purpose--to open themselves up to massive lawsuits and ill will? I don't think so. If epileptics see these warnings and ignore them, it's on them 100%. Even so, games with seizure warnings aren't guaranteed to "cause seizures" in anyone. Epileptics not on corrective meds have to be careful around many potential environments that might set off a seizure, some computer games being among the many possible triggers.

The warning is in the EULA, aka the thing nobody ever reads because it's written by lawyers that don't want you to read it.

Plenty of people don't ever suffer an episode of photosensitive epilepsy their entire lives despite being susceptible to it because they've never had the "proper" type of strobing lights flashed into their face, and many only realize they are after it first happens to them in a "live environment".

The game deliberately mimics the sort of strobing lights used to intentionally trigger photosensitive epileptic seizures. While their intention was very unlikely to be "let's give someone a seizure", they clearly thought "this thing that looks like it could give someone a seizure looks like a cool way to tell the player we're connecting them to super-VR".

But I get it, ~lmao at that 70yo woman that had her crotch literally melt off for spilling hot coffee served in a drive-way etc.

Warning: I’ve been sent hundreds of videos disguised as support that are deliberate flashing to induce photosensitive triggers. If you’re sharing this saying you’re epileptic and receive a video, don’t press play. I’m back to being on my ass.

Some Blues News posters' likely reaction to this: "Just stop using the internet sweetie, it has flashing lights :^) "
