You mean the major twist in the story that was fully explained in-game before the tutorial even started?

I remember the original RO mod had some servers that would give you a nice black screen whenever you died and waited to respawn. Sure was boring, but I guess it solved that issue in a rather effective manner.

Well I like it. I have a good group of friends to play with, so I don't have to deal with "the greater community" if I don't want to.

And when I'm tired of all the hard thinking and careful thought put into ARMA gametime, I can just play TF2 or whatnot. It's not like I can only do one or the other.

A lot of developers do PS3 versions, sure, and most of them hate it. Valve is just one of the few that are secure / independent enough to do so publicly.

Money payed into buying a PLEX is money that goes into paying the buyer's account; it's not extra cash for CCP, unless you consider that one of the accounts wouldn't be active if they couldn't use PLEXes. Saying that CCP sells ISK is just silly.

But anyways. Most people I know in the game have under 15mil SP and no alts, and they all enjoy the game.

That stuff is from an early box mock-up that the devs have already said isn't real.

And BoB just "died" two days ago.

The whole developer-guild collusion scandal brings their reputation into question. I can't say whether this bug has anything to do with their demonstrated corruption, but ultimately it doesn't matter. CCP have already proved they are not to be trusted.

Yes, a company of 400 employees can't be trusted because a handful of people that no longer work there anymore at one point cheated.

:-/

That this sort of thing can have an impact on the game for everyone is one of the big reasons I play EVE and smile while I'm at it.

Why did the developers even bother adding support for this technology? Its still trying to become mainstream.

I'm pretty sure stuff doesn't just magically become mainstream, and developers might have to support it before it is.

Fable 2 was fun, I might rebuy on PC if it has added stuff like Fable 1 did.

I detest how consoles are taking so much focus, but at least he's honest about what they're doing and why.

Server situation made me sadface, but they're doing something about it, so that's good.

I can't see there being that many dedicated servers for the 4 player coop mode, most local servers and connections handle 4 players pretty well. Dedicated might help with getting a central geographical location where all 4 get good latency, though.

Versus mode will probably have a heavier load, though. Plus future mods and whatnot.

Violent games also tend to be require the player to be alert and have fast reaction times, which sort of increases heart rate.

If I were playing some intense racing game or an FPS where I threw pink fluffy teddy bears at heart shaped markers while roller skating through a congested attraction park, my heart rate would be a good deal higher than if I were playing Battle Chess: Extreme Gore edition.

News Comments > Left 4 Dead Demo Tomorrow
4. Re: It's Fun Nov 10, 2008, 22:41 Rilcon

I think the price is right. The survivor AI is good enough to let you play single player just fine (heck, you can just spectate and let them play by themselves), and from looking at how long it takes to complete the second demo level, I'm thinking a single run through the game should be on par with most single player FPSs. Plus the director AI thingy makes it pretty replayable.

And further down the line I imagine you'll see more content and some good user mods and maps.

Of course I'd like it to be cheaper, but I see myself getting more out of L4D than out of many higher priced games.
