I see it as the opposite of that. More and more young people understand the importance of that balance and they work to live, not live to work. And that's as it should be. There's an old expression, no one ever died saying 'I should have spent more time at the office.' So good on them. Revel in your time and enjoy your youth while you're young because there may not be a later.

Yeah but PLENTY of people work for 50 years saying "I wish I had done a bit better in preparing for the future when I was younger."

The Babelfish quality of the patch notes alive are reason enough to stay the hell away from this game.

Can anyone tell me which of the many clones this is an actual sequel to?

There are two Game Tycoon style games I like, the rest are... "unappealing" to me.

Nearly 2 decades later for this franchise and all they can do is some farmed-out "expansion" by people who couldn`t even handle the remake.

It`s just so simple - get a new engine, upgrade the godawful combat to Divinity: OS model (or even PoE) and hire few decent writers. Then laugh all the way to the bank with both critics and fans happy.

Larian managed it with a tiny Kickstarted budget. Bioware not being able to crack this is just a proof of what a pathetic corporate zombie they have become.

WHY do people still not realize that BioWare is dead. EA bought them. Stop comparing BiowarEA to what BioWare used to be. It's stupid and idiotic.

EA bought BioWare 9 years ago. You making that statement isn't beating a dead horse. It's digging up the horse's grave, webcamming the corpse, and saying LOOK IT'S DEAD! SEE EVERYONE, I TOLD YOU IT WAS DEAD!

Yeah dude, we know. We've known for a long time now.

And the fact that you think the combat needs changed proves beyond a doubt that you're NOT the target audience, thusly, your opinion is invalid.

Initial release date Early 2015, pushed back to December 2015... delayed until March when it'll be released as Early Access with numerous months of EA status?

No red flags at all.

I'm curious if "independent" in this case means something similar to "indie"... which would be laughable.

I tried. I really tried... to read that stupid Munn article.

Ugh. CliffyB is being an a-hole, but he's not *completely* wrong. Munn is a media wh*re/tool. She's like a hot female Carson Daly. Anyone who remembers her role in G4's finale, elongated murder of techtv knows it.

HOWEVER.

There's really nothing terribly WRONG with it. It's like Kristin Adams on Cheat/X-Play. She never pretended to be a hardcore RTS or FPS nerd, but that didn't disqualify her from being able to speak as an expert on casual games, cuz she actually DID know her stuff (in that arena).

Just because Munn isn't the type of nerd/geek (let's not even get into the semantics of the difference there) that CliffyB respects doesn't mean there isn't room for her in the big extended family of geekdom.

Munn isn't merely the stereotypical pretty face on the gaming ad who is holding the xbox controller backwards. Sure... she's no Morgan Webb, but meh... that's a high standard to live up to.

But yeah... the article is a pile of crap. I trudged through it, just in case there was a gleaming diamond in there somewhere. I made it all the way to "nor is Chuck Lorre ever accused of 'nerd appropriation'," threw up my hands, and quit reading. I mean wow... just wow...

Who is Peter Bright? According to his profile page on Ars Technica he "covers Microsoft for Ars". I'm not saying he's a shill for Microsoft but he definitely has a conflict of interest. Anything he writes with positive praise towards Microsoft's direction should be taken with a degree of skepticism.

In pretty sure that "covers MS" means "writes articles about and is at least somewhat familiar with MS."

Unless they've changed the meaning, that phrase merely means that he's doing his job.

Lemme give you an example.

PC Gamer ain't what it used to be. We all know that. But one of their writes chose EA's Sim City as GOTY 2 years ago.

WE all know that should be an immediately fireable offense.

So I looked him up. He was brand new to PC Gamer and his previous experience in gaming journalism was writing for a Nintendo game (aka covering Nintendo Games).

He obviously knew NOTHING about PC Gaming and was obviously unqualified to write about it.

"Covers MS for [us]" just means (probably) he's not COMPLETELY unqualified. Nothing more. Nothing less. Do you want a neophyte covering MS?

lol @ the VR skeptics. Have any of you even tried a DK2? There's no going back to a monitor / TrackIR setup once you've made the leap to VR. I'll never race or fly on a flat screen again. And I'm looking forward to doing plenty of other stuff in VR beyond sims.

Yeah I remember being utterly amazed at THE FUTURE OF GAMING when I first experienced this amazing, awesome VR game. It was this really cool mech combat game and the immersion was something that you truly can't describe. Truly, there was no way VR wouldn't be everywhere within a few years, I thought, in 1995.

And he's complaining about an obscure Chinese group cracking it and putting it up on a few less than reputable torrent sites? Sounds like a right tosser actually.

Why wouldn't he? What's the cut-off point for being allowed to be unhappy at people grabbing your work for free? What does the notoriety or nationality of the cracking group matter?

Even if there was such a cut-off point (spoiler: there isn't), being $1,000,000 in the hole surely isn't it.

More importantly, is your name supposed to be read backwards? I always do, but I'm not sure I'm supposed to.

While he's no Starbound in terms of realistic views on piracy, I thought what he said was fairly decent, well-weighted, and mature.

Trolls are never happy though.
