Ugh. CliffyB is being an a-hole, but he's not *completely* wrong. Munn is a media wh*re/tool. She's like a hot female Carson Daly. Anyone who remembers her role in G4's finale, elongated murder of techtv knows it.

HOWEVER.

There's really nothing terribly WRONG with it. It's like Kristin Adams on Cheat/X-Play. She never pretended to be a hardcore RTS or FPS nerd, but that didn't disqualify her from being able to speak as an expert on casual games, cuz she actually DID know her stuff (in that arena).

Just because Munn isn't the type of nerd/geek (let's not even get into the semantics of the difference there) that CliffyB respects doesn't mean there isn't room for her in the big extended family of geekdom.

Munn isn't merely the stereotypical pretty face on the gaming ad who is holding the xbox controller backwards. Sure... she's no Morgan Webb, but meh... that's a high standard to live up to.

But yeah... the article is a pile of crap. I trudged through it, just in case there was a gleaming diamond in there somewhere. I made it all the way to "nor is Chuck Lorre ever accused of 'nerd appropriation'," threw up my hands, and quit reading. I mean wow... just wow...

So I looked him up. He was brand new to PC Gamer and his previous experience in gaming journalism was writing for a Nintendo game (aka covering Nintendo Games).

He obviously knew NOTHING about PC Gaming and was obviously unqualified to write about it.

"Covers MS for [us]" just means (probably) he's not COMPLETELY unqualified. Nothing more. Nothing less. Do you want a neophyte covering MS?

Yeah I remember being utterly amazed at THE FUTURE OF GAMING when I first experienced this amazing, awesome VR game. It was this really cool mech combat game and the immersion was something that you truly can't describe. Truly, there was no way VR wouldn't be everywhere within a few years, I thought, in 1995.
