Nintendo admits iPhone, iPod hurting sales.

The iPhone/iPod Touch would make one hell of a portable gaming device. Of course the games are mostly substandard and the unit costs considerably more than a DSi.

I wouldn't mind playing some older RPG's on the iPhone, or even some newer ones that are exclusive to the DS, such as The World Ends with You. A great RPG if you can find it.

nice exposition of tantric wisdom here

If you're into New Age BS, it sounds brilliant.

So if I'm understanding it right - this is a slomo power which slows down the player (ala Matrix-mode), makes you faster than the "victim" and is different for everybody but is only going to be fun for 50% of players. A relative statement and a declared constant.

Come to think of it, after reading a few interviews and previews of this game, not much about gets me excited.

Well yeah, that's usually how much a brand new dvd is or a trip to the theater for 2.

Blu Rays will inevitably cost more than that if you want a reference worthy reference movie.

Nintendo took huge risks hoping people would embrace innovation and the possibility to explore massively new opportunities and look how that turned out...

Uh, pretty well? Nintendo's problem was they faltered following through with it, not to mention a customer base too ingrained in thinking Nintendo made games featuring furry little creatures.

It's the same damn radiation.

It's the same type, but the exposure levels are considerably different between natural sunlight and the typical tanning bed. Tanning beds emit something like 4-7 times more UVA radiation; whereas several types of skin cancers have been linked to UVA radiation.

They don't damage, or benefit you, any less/more than the actual sun does.

The actual act of tanning your skin is by definition damaging it already.

If the sun isn't so bad, then why do vampires avoid it? By many accounts, vampires have been around for centuries so surely they would know.

If you follow the vampirism as a folklore, they weren't shy about getting in the sun

There's a global slowdown in the economy and Amazon wants to blame entertainment media for its lower profit?

Amazon was one of the few big retailers turning a more or less consistent profit the last few years; despite the global recession. It was also put out in the news last week that game sales took a pretty nasty plunge.

In real life? Zero. On internet forums? Tons.

If you, sir, make that statement regarding geeks at arguably the largest collection of said geeks in the world, you have neutralized any and all current standing as a geek as well as made any standings as such in the future an impossibility.

Antlion caves in Ep2? Not bad at all.

They were completely redundant. It was like going back into the Citadel in Ep 1. Why? I just spent the last 1/4 of the HL2 in that fucker, I don't want to go back. As for the tunnels...give it up, Valve, you guys overplayed the anlions waaaay tooo much.

How can 4 DLCs be more than the original game?!

When they're $9.99 per DLC on Fallout 3...

And the projected hours of gameplay you're really not getting that much, especially after 4 DLCs; which could conceivably add 20 extra hours, you're still paying roughly 4/5 to roughly two-thirds the initial retail cost of the game (depending on the platform you purchased for). And like someone else said here - I've put in around 140 hours in Fallout 3 just dinking around.

Seriously, did any of the people at Bethesda ever play a Fallout game, or did they just copy the art style?

Eh, it would've been a travesty not to include Dogmeat simply because he was in the first two games and so well received. He certainly wasn't that great of a follower, beyond gathering weapons for you; and even then I used him rarely. There wasn't a lock I couldn't pick and the most use I gained from Dogmeat was retrieving the Reservist's Rifle from the Drifter in Dickerson Tabernacle Chapel.

For that particular game save I couldn't knock him off that platform to save my life.

I'm not sure how First Amendment rights apply here - since the dork was playing over Sony's network.

@ Zeph - Uh, buddy? I didn't bother reading your whole post after you started blarbing (I even came up with an onomatopoeic word for you) about "facism" and whatnot, because I pretty much read all that was needed. Point being - do a little research and figure out the distinguishing factors of freedom of speech on public premise versus private. If it's not government owned, public property, or a specially-stated public forum, you don't have right to freedom of speech. And you're sure as hell not going to be invited to stand in my living room spouting off a high-school understanding of fascism or racism.

if Tarantino and Michael Bay got together...

The nuclear explosion resulting from both egos colliding would be so powerful and monstrous the earth would be popped off its orbital plane.

...which means that you still backpedal like shit at the same speed as your enemy can run, shooting him in the face? I don't remember ever backpedalling in any RPG I've played.

You've never played Fallout 3?

Nice they threw some more alien weapons to warrant an actual perk. I have the scrounger perk with my current character and I'm finding more Alien Power Cells (when I do find them), but there's still not a whole hell of a lot of them to start with.

Woo, how original.

Now if they took a bunch of egg crates and wired them together with an engine, I'd be impressed; if for nothing else the sheer stupidity of it.

Truth. Publishers are supporting the PC a lot more now than they did a few years ago.

You were complaining last week about Microsoft strangling the PC platform with its Games for Windows campaign.

Now if only they'd make more PC-exclusives (or at least have PC be the lead SKU in multiplatform games like Dragon Age).

Fuck that...it's gotten to the point where a developer can port a game from one platform to another without much derivation in gameplay. Frankly, I'm rather glad the era of PC-exclusives is more or less passed. There's no sense or point in it anymore.
