By "aggressive desire" you should mean "expand" and if they were to port to the consoles it probably wouldn't give console players much leverage to use Blizzard's online services. Now they could just take out multiplayer completely for the ports, but then...who the fuck plays Diablo for the single player? Not that it wasn't good...
I didn't pay much attention to whether it was fake or not. I didn't care, TBH. Gaming in a world with Jack Thompson and religious zealots, just about anything can be protested; logically or not. That being said, I read the story yesterday and thought "well, guys, if you're protesting this, then you might want to step beyond the veneer of gaming and see the real shit..."
A multiplayer game should last you for at least a year.

I would assume if you buy Diablo 3, it will be free to use as well.
I'm surprised D3 wasn't announced as an MMO. I think that would suck the life out of the franchise too. The first new Diablo game in nearly a decade and it's something you have to perpetually pay for.
At this rate they'll be on the consoles next year, woot.
It would be interesting to see how online is set up if they were ported. Especially with D3, I'm sure if it made it over to the 360 players would still want to play on BNET. If the cross could be made that would just suck - a player pays for Live and probably spends most online time on BNET.

Meh, Castevania is a series I think could take some lessons from God-of-War. Story and mythology, they're pretty much the same thing.

Compared to what? Xenogears and Chrono Cross? They were all made by the then-Square Co. and are remarkable in they all stand on their own as a family of great games.
...but I'm far happier replaying Chrono Cross or Xenogears.

Pretty close, but they're pretty much all community-based fixes.
I grabbed it last night and played it today. It looks friggin old but it's still great.
Graphics don't have to be cutting edge, but like it or not they are a barrier to enjoyment and success. Anyone here ever play Dwarf Fortress? The gameplay is fantastic, once you've spent a few hours learning which ASCII character is what. That's an extreme example of looking beyond the graphics, but it's hard to do at first no matter what you're playing. It's also hard to advertise a game without having something pretty to look at, which is why I bet only 3 or 4 people raised their hands for Dwarf Fortress. It's not all about graphics but a pretty good chunk of it is, and I see nothing wrong with that - everything should be continually advancing, gameplay and graphics alike, at least for the big name stuff that leads the pack. Today's cutting edge graphics engine becomes tomorrow's hand-me-down and next week's budget engine. Who loses there? I don't expect everything to look like Crysis but if I get my hands on something in a store that looks like it's 4 years old, I feel pretty certain that someone's just trying to make a quicker buck by cutting costs.
Blah blah blah. Same excuse used by every other lazy gamer I've read who won't read a little about the game before buying it.
The malaria thing is dumb (if I am THAT sick, why not get treated or take a small break from destroying the world,) but was such a small thing compared to the other flaws.
Or considering how much experience the hero supposedly has in that region, malaria tablets aren't part of his inventory.
I think most companies don't want to offer content for free in general, so putting out a patch that has content to play that gamers would otherwise pay for is an amazing offer.
Even if it is content *freely* available on the internet, it says a lot about the company and their inclusion of said content therein. It all comes down to marketing, sure, but CDP already created a great game in The Witcher they also include fan-made content they feel is worthy of inclusion in the main game? It's also a nice thank-you to the fans for their support.
The PsP Go might be something to watch in the future but I'd be a fucking dumb ass to go out and spend money on their shit right now...
Your whole post makes no sense, but I agree I just can't see the point in buying a Go. It's lighter, possibly nicer screen, but they dropped the support for UMD, so that eliminates my whole UMD-game collection. Like yourself, I don't care for UMDs, but there's some pretty good games for it, enough that it justified having a PSP. Forget the movies. If Sony is trying to transition to a wholly digital format for their games, cool, but this is probably not the best way for them to go...

All this patch does is add FAN-CREATED content and remove DRM.
CDP's support of their fan-base is a rarity unto itself and the removal of DRM even more so. It's not blind support, the company's appreciation of people buying their game is being shown.
