Yeah, is this thing worth downloading at all? I'm a bit skeptical about being able to play a "technical demo", so any insight on whether this thing is playable is appreciated. Looks like it'll be pretty sweet when it's done, though.

Don't know. That mp3 has been around since the mid-90s...

There are lots (lots!) of mislabeled mp3s out there. People listen to a song but the id3 is empty and there's no artist, so they say "hmm, sounds like [insert popular band here]", and label it that way (or they do it as a joke or just to get people to download the crappy song they made). Then they share the song using a p2p app and people searching for the popular band in question say "Wow, I've never heard that one before!" And lo', an unfounded rumor is born.

Here's a quick link I got from google about mislabeled mp3s (discussing the nin/zelda thing in particular). It's a little ... abrasive..., but the point stands.

Well, since Enahs's school account probably (99.9999999% chance) won't have general MySQL access or anything, I sent you an e-mail with the idea (to the hotmail account). Something I've been thinking about doing for a while, but never had the database resources.

I was going to post something along those same lines. My friends are all plenty knowledgable about computers, and all of them have either administrator or web development jobs. That being said, I sometimes take for granted the knowledge I have just from being a gamer. I've had more than a few conversations with computer-savvy acquaintances that were like:

Them: "Yeah, I just bought a new computer--spent lots of money to get the fastest machine I could get."
Me: "Hey, cool! What kind of video card?"
Them: "A uhh.. n-vida" or "A uh.. ge-four".
Me: <slaps head because I know it's on-board or something>

or even worse...

Them: "I have a GeForce MX! Supposed to be an awesome card!"
Me: <vomits>

it is absurd that they even atempt to complain that they didn't have enough subsribers when the city was packed on all the shards at any hour of the day and night and you had to be lucky and have a fast connection just to get in.

My dad was looking forward to the Live component but he told me he could never connect. Probably a lot of people in the same situation, but I don't think that the ability to log on caused the game to shut down since you could still set up an Uru Live account and they could count subscribers that way. Ubisoft probably just set some rediculous goal for the live service thinking that they could get like half a million people signed up because of the game's popularity. I don't think they gave the game enough of a chance. I think the franchise is strong enough that they could have eventually brought the subscribers up to the necessary amount if they'd ran at a loss for a while.
