Development time is very relevant when game engines move on and people's expectations move on. Hardware changes and so do SDK's. People want cinematic effects for example with hardware physics.

For example, Tribes2 was a great game I think but now its dated and I expect more from a game now. I dont go load it up anymore because I had my time with it. I had great expectations for STALKER but now I expect more and I think it now fails to meet those expectations.

Time to market is so very relevant, remember Windows got there first to market and won.

FPS game genre is very very competitive, and it is a very seasonal and technology related and must coincide with releases or people hold off or just buy something else.

"I don't plan to order overseas, thanks."

Well, then STFU Emo and go cry in your corner about not having the Collectors edition if you are not prepared to actually do something about it.

One thing I fucking hate is fake people aka patriots. I guess you dont want those nice flat panel TV's then eh after all they are very unpatriotic! or those nice pair of fashion clothing you wear, or that oil what about that air you breath, that kinda crosses borders.

I order a lot from different countries with no problems and a fast service.

Do you think I buy books locally in the country I am in which is not in the language I want to read in? no I buy online and ship them across Europe, what do you think I do when I want a localised keyboard that I cannot get where I am? I call up the country with that locale and order one and ship it.

"OH and I must say that I'm VERY DISAPOINTED that yet there is no Collector's Edition for Canada/USA."

Eh? Haven't you heard of online buying? Buy it from a place that does have the item you want.

Perhaps this is not a common concept in the developed western world but it is in Europe

When can I load the demo and preload and order it on steam.

I am trying to switch away from the retail channels in order to get cheaper pricing and instant access. What good is the media to you after you activate it and image it onto Alchocol 120% anyway. This way I avoid CD checks, Starfarce, hacks that try to check if I have Virtual Machiens or Virtual DVD drives installed which are a Pain in the Ass. I am not going to uninstall my purchased products just to run a game.

I cant? Oh well, I hope they enjoy their loss of money from me. I shall save that money and give it to another game house then.

Thanks.

MP support, online distribution is already via Steam, they are just too stupid to distribute their freely downloadable demo over steam aswell which is holding back sales, I didn't purchase it for this very reason.

Nice to see more online play, I really left single play games in the 90s.

They get stale and have no variation and longativity.

I don't however want a dumbed down game with obvious "guides" (they can have this on Learning or Beginner skill level but not normal+).

I was going to purchase Dreamfall on Steam but held back because of 1) its dumbed down and 2) single player

and 3) which is totally mind boggling to me..

They offer a download demo (Bit Torrent or whatever source) of their game but I cannot load it on steam as a demo. So they lost money from me for being buck stupid.

I wish to load on Steam, then play the demo and if I like it, I click purchase to continue the full product.

Blue on blue? Please, blue on black is nearly as bad.

How about a stylesheet with black text on white background? I do this manually by browsing with colours off for Bluesnews.

I think the dark morbid themes are so adams family and an eyestrain.

It is when they begin to "target" in game advertisements that I get worried, they have to get the data to mine from somewhere. Will they start adding your favorites, history and cookie cache, perhaps using the indexes built into the "search desktops"?

Refresh button LOL ?? Thats so 90s. These days content is dynamic and if anything needs refreshing that section of the page auto refresh.

Things dont look good for this game already, I feel this is the "last-of-its-kind" design.

We recommend viewing the Top Secret site

with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and

above versions. You can use other

browsers but you may not receive

the full experience.

Probably requires DX10 too.

Yup. Says it all. It can stay secret for all I care

No but they ignored everybody that was screaming at them telling them it was going to be shit, did they listen, no. I think their ignorance was worse than the product failing itself.

They should have listened.

For some strange reason they seem to think we wanted some Unreal Tournament clone. Boy where they wrong and they're paying for it

Dont worry! We know what you want! Have faith yada yada. well, we waited and waited and give them a change and well, they screwed us over. They never listened once during the development, testing and after the release.

They sat on forums pretending to listen but no they didn't. It was just a PR stunt and it backfired.

1) I dont like the Unreal engine and 2) they already have used the Unreal Engine in T:V and their devs even said it was the wrong choice of engine and here they are using it again. They never learn. The reason they are using the Unreal engine is not technical, it is business reasons.

Since they have a history of fcuking up games, Tribes 3 for example, I will stay clear of any future products they have a hand in.

T:V was on the Unreal engine and they sucessfully managed to royally fcuk up that game. Not something to brag about if they want sales.

Even if I wished to purchase this, will they have an online download and purcase method or am I forced to purchase from the retail channel one use once throw away media? That's so 90's.

The only people this annoys is legit users when it screws up and it does.

I use my pirated Windows XP and I still get automatic upates downloaded Even when my key is a known pirated corp one.

I wont buy a legitimate copy of Windows XP because I move my retail copy from laptop to laptop as I upgrade it and I don't want to have to explain to a call center and BEG literally BEG to get them to activate it again on a new machine. I refuse to buy 2 copies when I am only using one legal copy one one machine.

Why on earth should I go out and buy a new copy when I am moving from an old laptop to a new one? Makes no business sense to me at all, only a numpty would do that.

And no I wont use the OEM licensed ones as they are full of crapware and only come with reinstall IMAGES, and I wont be downgrading to Vista any time soon. They can pry this from my cold dead hands

They need to make it easy to deactivate it from an old machine and reactivate it on a new machine but no, they dont so no money from me.

Balmer can dance all he wants.

They took too long, people forgot what the game is, people moved on and are waiting on QuakeWars, Crysis and Portal etc.. Why should I buy STALKER now?

If they wanted to get publicity they should have released on the anniversary of Chernobyl which is now past.

I predict crappy sales of this game.
