There is more than just some crappy texture stolen, like real intellectual property.

These textures are nothing really worth talking about.

Code, artwork, models etc is something completely different however.


I would suggest they profile their engine and see if it has actually stolen some code.

And still ATI fcuk over Acer mobile users. My next laptop is an NV laptop and definately not Acer.

Acer is one of the OEM vendors that is not supported by ATI mobility cats.

I have tried modding them but sometimes screens end up blank and I Have to force reboot my machine to recover.

Its OEM drivers or nothing, Acer must be doing some weird shit on their integration of the chipsets, I recommend avoiding Acer with ATI chips for driver reasons.


Anybody know when DX10 NV mobile chips are being released by OEMs? Dell preferably for their on site worldwide cover (this is a deal breaker for my laptop purchases).

Yes well some retailers online buy from the cheapest source and sell, they dont care what version they have. So it is a valid question, yes most likely I have the worldwide binary, but there is no reason they cant have a unified patch (full and partial).

I really dont see why game engines dont have a built in way to deploy updates. In a service orientated world this is a must, I see gaming as a service not a "product", just as I see my internet as a "service" not a product.

Or even better, why should I have to get off my ass to hunt for a patch? They should deploy the patch direct to my machine via the game itself.

Amazon bang on tax and have huge shipping costs thats why I avoid Amazon.

Especially a big deal if one ships across Europe.

Some games have a restriction for specific markets, I have seen games that state "Not to be sold in the UK".

I dont think Play.com really give a toss about those restrictions anyway.

It is usually the distributer that sells to the retail channel that controls that. Since play.com has all the European market and expanding they can do as they please pretty much. Play.com is a merchant portal, if play.com dont have it, try a PlayTrade merchant on the same site.

No but I still have my cake and eat it, I order from play.com get my activation code from them and then activte it on steam then download it. All for the cheap discounted price and get all my updates automatically which saves me from fucking around with Fileplant and being the lazy cunt I am Im well chuffed with that.

I have it nicely managed by Steam, since my games depend on the internet and servers to be up and running thats not a problem. Publishers can kill off games anytime they want just by unplugging the login server, big deal, nothing new, we have had that for years.

Well if mr whoever is stupid enough not to have the ability to use a search engine and SHOP AROUND thats not my fucking problem.

For me steam is still cheaper in "some" cases, I shop around, sometimes I will purchase on steam sometimes I wont.

Nice, thanks for the link but they basically deploy the Disc DRM too dont they? I actually prefer activation as its less intrusive to me as Disc protection usually fails with my machine as I have various virtualisation products that I require for my work and it misdetects them as Daemon Tools for some reason.
Arma uses SecurROM and that fails for me, so did Prey, Steam actually saved me from returning the game for a refund, since I could download my activated copy over the network which ran nicely.

Play.com is my number one stop for checking pricing on games, I always use them for sending pricing questons to Steam (they still charge 40 bucks for this game yet its still Steam managed which is great I think. I get it cheap and get the benifit from mangaged by Steam. I pay, get my activation code, and download it ).

Direct2Drive.net restricts its market to N.America only which sucks, and they use local client side DRM not remote activation it seems which is incompatible with my installed software mostly.
