Yeah the guy with the widescreen probably didn't even move the UI to the left side either. ALT uparrow. LOL
Not to mention, the UI is completely moddable, their are already new UI's. More will come like crazy.
People think they can judge the game after one sitting, yet haven't even explored what it can do or how it works.
As to performance, it is very CPU heavy, dual/quad core definitely benefits. If 60 fps is what you require well forget about it playing the AI with a 1000 units. Unless you have core 2 duo and an 8800 people really should avoid putting all settings on high, medium is decent. This is a new game, afterall.
Mine runs smooth as silk. But there is no need to be running above 30 fps so adjust your expectations. Older hardware, well you will get challenged like all bleeding edge games. Also, turn off the stupid mini map for a perf benefit, it isn't needed in this game with the zoom. Although it takes some readjusting to get used to the new zoom way of playing.
But really this game will grow with new hardware just like many games before it. I really don't think it is all that performance hungry not compared to like oblivion, X3, FlightSim X, etc. This doesn't even come close to those fps killers.
