Does anyone have anything to say about the damn demo. I mean come on already, go talk about Sparta at some Greece/movie website for all that witty banter.

Anyone have thoughts on the demo, is it worth a download?

Maybe he was just kidding.
Especially considering how much flack nvidia has been getting on Vista drivers with the fanboys claiming the mighty ATI as the defacto standard in solid Vista drivers.

There's obviously more to all these Vista driver issues than meets the eye.

Damn Nvidia causing catalyst BSOD's in Vista. Nvidia needs to learn how to write drivers.

ATI/AMD always make the greatest drivers.

It doesn't say COH 2 anywhere. It's likely an expansion, it's way to quick for COH2.

We will not see another single player game like Oblivion on PC for years. The amount of work, skill, team maturity that goes into making a game that rich in content and so graphically compelling is far beyond what 98% of developers have the means or desire to put into a single player game. So complain all you want.

Only MMO's will really get that kind of attention to detail in the future (considering developers have found plenty of fools willing to pay on a monthly basis).

oh god is it? chisel jawed action hero fighting terrorists? oh man.....

Maybe you would be more interested in a nature lover pacifist game about climbing & saving trees. Just don't chip the bark when climbing the tree.

Didn't they say winter time-frame for Crysis, pretty sure this is a long way off still. Which is good, extra polish goes a long way.

Their must be somekind of PR 101 class because they all look like the same old same old.

I would like to see an original one come out and say "hey we got a kick ass game coming out...here is what it will do".

I guess stockholders must be easily manipulated by the same old spiel.

I would love to see what could be done with a surfing game with technology today But...

These guys are too busy spending all their dev "artistic" resources to try and get this game to play on all platforms. It will look crappy for 360, because it will be limited to PS2 rendering as the lowest platform, and they aren't going to make seperate assets for each console port. Not to mention, it is a movie to game translation. This has drowning surf game written all over it.

It should be about as good as any game that is trying to be as money hungry as possible. I'm not against making money as a 4 star game could in rewarding talent and love of the art, I'm against the obvious product that comes from primary motivation of quick money, then throw out the next quick craptastic title.

If financial success can come from making mediocre games and putting it on all platforms, then I guess we will be seeing more of the same.

I guess time will tell, but my radar is telling me send out the lifeguards quick.

What's the point in continuing to do so over and over again for hundreds of other planets? - Just sounds boring to me.

Yeah that is what I think too, except for me the cool factor will wear off at 'oohhh cool creature I made', now where is the actual gameplay???

Sims & claymation = spore

I have been saying since first E3 that I just don't think I will be able to enjoy spore. I still feel the same way, never got into the sims games.

Heck my geforce 8800 GTS will be outdated by fall.

But seriously I was hoping MS, if anyone, would get us some DX10 love soon, but waahh fall. The skeptic in me is starting to wonder if DX10, instead of coming in as a bang, is going to come in with a little fizzle. ooohh sparklers.

A patch was released tonight, not the big one stated above, mainly some hotfixes.

I'm sure many will be happy to here they removed the copy protection, no more securom, no more dvd in drive to play.

Way to go ATI! Nvidia, PAY ATTENTION!

Too bad they can't release a DX10 card. Gee, you wouldn't think that they are playing wack a mole with DX10 drivers too now would you? My 8800 rocks with every game it plays, better than any ATI card. It's even helping developers actually really make DX10 games, too bad ATI can't deliver.

If it were up to ATI Crysis wouldn't have as extensive DX10 support as it will.

ATI R600 will NOT launch this quarter!

Message to whiners...

I hate whining babies that whine because that is what they like to do. Ohh did you run out of starforce threads to whine about...

What XP driver needs fixing? What specific fixes are you whining about than need updating?
Is it really a deal breaker?

Unfortunately all the Nvidia whiners, especially that class action site that is entirely motivated by making money, will hurt the market more than help it.
Genuine complaints is one thing but when you have a world full of impressionable fools that listen and parrot foolish whiners, all of the sudden other fools have to make foolish decisions to address the foolish mob mentality of idiotic whiners. See a pattern?

For you ATI fans (not best product/price fans), if Nvidia actually dropped out of the game, then AMD/ATI would suck balls without genuine competition. I have no doubt they would go back to exclusive OEM deals and onboard video.

All you have to do is use a All In Wonder card to see how really poor ATI drivers are. One good reason to drop the product line.

My Nvidia XP driver is 2 months old and I am fine with that. Everything works fine. Somebody has to take a stand against foolish whiners. But if you need to prove you are not just a whiner then:
What specific fixes are you whining about than need updating? (there are a few especially with the newest product line)
Is it really a deal breaker?
Have you communicated the need to Nvidia or are you just filling forums with your whining cause it's the next thing you can whine about?

Anyway, anyone who's done this in both Warcraft 3 and Supreme Commander will notice the huge difference. It isn't the easiest thing to implement correctly, especially in 3D. But wow, it sure is rock solid in Warcraft 3...

Well, lets see Warcraft 3 zoom all the way out as smoothly.
I'm sure it wasn't easy to do something no one else has really engineered well in RTS's, with an engine that does full zoom like that. But seriously I think interfaces can't really be compared. The engine in SupCom is pretty different than whatever else is out there. Once people use SupCom for a while the conventional means of controls we used on fixed limited zoom maps(other RTS's) become left behind for the better system. In other words, after a while as one gains proficiency with zoom one prefers to start using zoom for all movement rather than edge screen scrolling or even click and drag. The latter maybe used rarely but the former can be dropped from use entirely.

Some people have played for years, now how many hundreds of dollars is that for a game. Sheesh

Why doesn't a game company just double it's development team make the most killer games and sell them for a hundred and get it over with. Obviously their are plenty willing to spend many hundreds to play a good game.
