sure buddy, you have fun hyping the game. Halo, Metal Gear Solid 2, and FF10 came out in 2001...there's really no comparison. There's also a REASON this game did not come out in 2001 or 2002...did you think of that?

you've got to be f'ing crazy if you think that 2001 trailer looks good for it's time. It hardly looks better than HL, a game that came out 3 years before the trailer...in fact, it kinda just looks like a HL clone with duke as the main character and no scientists. HDR? I hope that guy is joking. Maybe he should take one more look at the same 2001 trailer I'm looking at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPX_y7wP_ko
Why bash DNF? Cuz it's soooo much fun. A lot more fun than it will be to play it. They should be ashamed for even releasing a "teaser"...it just incites malevolence. The smoke effects look to be "added in", btw. I highly doubt you'll get that smoke in gameplay. In fact, I still have doubts this game will see the light of day. Who doesn't?

Oh god...there need be no more trailers of this game. Just release it when it's done, because nobody is going to believe it exists until it's on the shelf. As for the trailer: Can we say rehash of every FPS from the past 5 years? Whoever said this is a good trailer...you're wrong. This looks like a joke compared to CoD4, TF2, and just about any other current FPS. So what if it's "just a teaser"...we've been teased for 10 years!!! We don't need to be teased any longer!

First, none of the previous Team Fortress games were commercial...they were both free mod's (QWTF and TFC). Comparing the two developers...3drealms history is just ugly and full of canceled products...valve's history is that of ONLY masterpieces with huge revenue's. If valve were making DNF, then I would love it, but as it is now...we'll see what we get tomorrow...I think, lol. I'm not going to believe the game exists until I see it on a shelf.

I'll watch...but who really cares anymore? The predecessor is 10 years old...average video gamers aren't going to care about this. Their reputation hurts more than helps them. They should have just made a new IP...one that is not associated with extreme delays, vaporware, and worthless production. No, this isn't anywhere close to Starcraft 2: something to actually be excited about with a developer that shows dedication to making great products on a time schedule. Give it a break and let Duke Nukem die. I'd rather see Prey 2 or Max Payne 3...

How dare activision talk about lowering the price of a console when their GHIII game is 1/3 the price of a x360. IMO, the $60 games need a price drop. 50 dollar games for generations, and suddenly there is a price jump because of "next gen development costs"...my ass. We're used to consoles sold for 250-400 dollars, but we're not accustomed to games and accessories that add up to cost more than the system itself.

When I say "must-have" games I mean games that are the "blockbusters" of games, the ones that sell the most (since this was an arguement about companies losing money)

Whether or not you personally like Q4, D3, or FEAR, you can't debate that they sell more than any starforce game. BTW FEAR > AoE3 ;D

I'll definately pay for a game like FEAR just because they tried something different in the bland formula. Everyone agrees the levels are repetitive (did I just go through this same office room....for the past 10 hours? Owell at least it has slowmo), but it's not the cut and paste Q4.

I will admit that sequals are a big part of the degrading PC gaming industry. Mostly the ones that are slapped together, rehashed, and repackaged at 50 big ones. PC games are not going to self-destruct from piracy (just with movies/music/consoles), and it won't be saved because of StarForce (nor will it "destroy the pirating scene as we know it". If you knew the mentality of the people who crack it, they like the challenge of it.)

If they make a great multiplayer game, you can't play on non-pirated servers (most games), so that should be a direction in anti-piracy, perhaps the best one imo. STEAM-like apps are another means. But spyware-esk progs like SF are pretty craptacular and pointless when it's so easy to get around. They just limit the person who actually wants to pay money for it.

So...Chaos Theory (perhaps the landmark SF game), Prince of Persia, and X3 (bug-riddled, more time on beta testing, less time on SF protection).

I'm talking must-have games like Q4, D3, HL2, AoE3, Civ4, FEAR, Most Wanted, CoD2. I just hate people that blame sales on pirates. I know free mods that spend more time and effort on games then some of these companies that sell 50 dollar "sequal" games.

Usually SF just stops you at the IDE CD drives, I won't go further.

This all goes along with music/movies, etc. Make something worth the price tag you put, and more people will buy it. Make something that isn't worth a 1/5 of pricetag...don't blame it on piracy.

Most of these "big evil companies" make the best selling games because: a) they can get the best developers on reputation/salary and b)more money for marketing. Is that really a piracy problem?

BTW, name a "must-have" starforce game, or even 2-3 highly profitable ones...

Very Very foolish statements about the PC pirating scene, btw. Most of the people having problems are just ignorant, I know a friend that's never been stopped by any version...

It's just like EA to worry about their money more than actually producing something new, fun to play, or a complete game (not bugged to oblivian) for that matter.
