Is one of them affordable?

Though I guess that's moot with tariffs now...

The bigger problem here is, if you already had purchased a game on the Epic Game Store, you *cannot* login to access said games without agreeing to the new EULA. Pretty shady, and certainly doesn't encourage people to make purchases on their half assed store...

Depressing but not really surprising. The writing has bene on the wall since they stopped saying anything or doing anything with it.

TL&DW: IT'S WORSE. Yep, you read that right, according to Digital Foundry's analysis, they made it even worse.

LOLLL

That may be true, but the video you posted doesn't say that. So maybe link to the correct source?

Ironically, I think the game was called Quarantine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarantine_(video_game)), or at least that's the game this made me think of...

What I seem to recall was that there was one attacke that was ranged-ish that you could use (the one where a bunch of long thin tentacles came out of you). Using THAT attack...the game was pretty easy. Using the other attacks, it became hard pretty fast. Even the final boss was only mildly frustrating using the ranged attack. So there were some serious balance issues with that power, but fun overall.

I still preferred inFamous, though.

If the changelist is to be believed, the patch changes quite a few things.

But war, war NEVER changes...

Except, AFAIK, the PC version doesn't actually support widescreen. Which makes it terribly ugly on modern monitors...or did someone manage to hack this finally?

Please don't suck.

And no WoW/WAR in space.

If they can do it properly, this will probably eat my life for a few months. But I'm not holding my breath

There's another massive difference: drugs/alcohol cause a physical as well as psychological addiction, they physically change your body's needs and the chemical balance within them. Video games obviously do not. Really, this should be grouped in with gambling "addictions" (though with significantly less effect on the pocketbook), not lumped in with drugs and alcohol. But somehow the headlines just aren't as good.

Actiblizzard really implemented this wrong, but maybe the next mount will be right:

Mount -> Free
Celestial Hay Needed for mount to work every month -> 5-10 bucks a month.

I can't even begin to express my confusion and horror at this DLC.

Pretty sure that IS the loyalty mission, and picking up the character will be as shallow and pointless as Zaeed's pickup mission. But maybe I'll be wrong.

As a PC gamer... I wish they would do just that.

Why? What good would that do to PC gamers who enjoy Ubisoft games? All you have to do is simply not buy their products.

If nothing else, maybe it will clear the space for developers who actually want to develop for the PC, and understand that DRM only hurts the people who pay for the games.

the Xbox 360 doesn't allow people to download DLC content without buying it.

Bollocks to that. As an example, the crap that was the "free" DLC versions of knothole island for Fable 2. There's one you pay for, and there's one that has all the content, but locked, so that you can play with people who bought the full DLC.

So it's completely possible.

Is this still DRM'ed up the wazoo, even on Steam?

As unlike the other two sets of DLC, this doesn't say 3rd party drm: Securom...

This game was passably fun for co-op play, but having it locked to their servers (ie, no LAN play) made the death of the servers the death of co-op. If I can get access to that again, I suppose I'll be happy enough. It certainly wasn't a deep game, though.

It would be in Crytek's best interests to release a cheap version of Crysis on Steam this holiday...there will be many, many bites with this available

Oh, how I've missed the mech games....

This article is 100% correct. I refuse to play an MMO until it properly allows me to play a sadistic, knife-wielding shade of blue.

Or pueple. But blue would be better.

It's sad, really. Once I got the MP working, it was terribly fun to run it co-operatively (though text chat in the upper left just feels weird).

But the hell that was opening ports for it....

I ended getting hosting to work on my machine, through the router, by opening the suggested ports and turning windows firewall off. But same ports open and firewall off on another computer/router just would not work. And there's no option for the host to say "okay, spawn this player's world", so if they're behind the host in quests, they're just screwed.

Hope they fix this fast. There's obviously a huge community that WANTS it to work. They just need to not waste the numbers they have (ha, fat chance )

I've long been impressed with Valve's efforts to allow people who are hard of hearing to not miss out on their games. Especially remembering that some developers can't even be assed to include basic subtitles in their game.

Yes, I'm still bitter about Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed. Lazy developers.
