If any of you find a copy of Tron 2.0 or feel like playing it again, you guys might want to grab a couple of mods for the game that were mentioned here on Blue's a while back that I helped create.

There is no promotional budget for a game that even approaches $100 million, let alone $300 million as was previously alluded to
I was including marketing and development. And I'm not as entirely "clueless" as Hellbinder likes to think.

CoD:MW2 cost $200 million

That's still a huge chunk of change.

(besides, the revenue to date from MW2 exceeds $1 billion, making even the ludicrous numbers a moot point).

It's not a moot point, because big publisher game budgets are spiralling out of control these days. Meaning they have to make absurd profits in order to be considered successful. Meanwhile indie titles can continue to take risks, instead of churning out CoD X year after year.

Yeah, why strive for making $310 million in the first 24 hours when you could be making $500k in a half a week or so. Idiots!
And how much did a company like Activision have to spend on development and marketing in order to make that $310 million? They're lucky if they broke even that day. Meanwhile, even at $500K (less the donations) these guys made a tidy profit.

It's swell and all if you make a shit-ton of money, but not if you have to spend a shit-ton to get there. The ROI these indie titles are getting is just as good, if not better, than mainstream ones.

Everybody should watch this brief guide to installing Tron 2.0 on Vista and Windows 7, to ensure the installation of the Killer App Mod goes smoothly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMEgAseBzfg

A lot of people are installing the game and then the mod immediately after, without checking first to see if the game is even working properly. Obviously, if the game wasn't working in the first place then the mod won't work either.

This is a little confusing does Killer App include User Error mod or is User Error another new 16 level single player mod?
Team member who worked on the KA Mod, here.

No, User Error is still separate. Aside from advertising the release of the KA Mod, the video was meant to show that an updated version of User Error that works in widescreen is forthcoming. Nothing else about it has changed, except for a few bug fixes. (In fact, the news article on ModDB states all this.)

Hang on to your hats, the updated UE2 that works in widescreen (if you install the KA Mod first) is coming soon.

P.S. Therefore the KA Mod does not include new maps . . . that's incorrect.

Man, I had no idea I'd make the news page of Blue's News.

Gee, thanks guys. Your comments are touching, really.

Considering I've only had a petition going for one freaking day, it's not doing bad.

And I'm sure if a publisher that published a favorite recent game of yours treated YOU like crap, you wouldn't be so sarcastic. Hypocrites.

I'm doing this for future, unwitting customers. Because if the publisher treats it's customers like crap now, then what's going to change the next time?

And there are people who like Tron. *Shock*
